“This gym couldn't be better thanks to the dedicated, patient, knowledgeable and genial staff. My 3 yr old has been coming here for several months and he has good days and bad days. They are so caring no matter how much he runs around. When he is paying attention, he's learning a lot and surprises me. The gym is a safe environment where all the kids enjoy themselves. It is large and clean with a variety of activities.”

“We’re so lucky to live around the corner from Nature Forward, it is an awesome place to explore. Our neighborhood doesn’t have sidewalks so it’s especially nice to be able to take our kids here and let them walk. The paved paths were done within the past year and are super smooth for the stroller. It’s always clean here and its great that there are two bathrooms available too.”

“I did a surprise birthday party for my dad and the event was beautiful. I was very happy with venue, decoration, and food. Their staff is not only friendly but also highly helpful. Mitzi and Gaby were absolutely amazing to work with and made this so easy and enjoyable. Definitely recommend it!”

“The ballroom is nice and spacious. Easily fits 100 guests without the place feeling congested/cramped and with more than enough space for a dance floor. Beautiful venue.Ballroom also has clean restroom facilities and a water fountain on the far side of the building. In that same hall is the kitchen for the caterer to set up and on the other side of the hall is a place where the bridal party can get set up. You turn a corner and there’s a separate room where our wedding event set up our bartender and catering table. The wedding itself which I attended was held in the pavilion - which I should mention is a little distance away from this ballroom so if you had a wedding/reception in these two different places, you’d need your car (both situated in the same area but the way leading to each has a hill and a block and a half distance away). Save your feet a little trek and do that minute drive. There is ample parking as well. Need not worry in that regard”

“First time and It was an amazing experience! I was there supporting A Touch of Lynay Creations LLC. The owner is in the white shirt (we're wearing her customed shirts). She creates and prints wording to press on her products! Overall Chill vibes, the band and different singing artists were a vibe. Food trucks, drinks and all the vendors were friendly and brought out their best products.”

“This place is awesome. Read the directions carefully for how to find it. It's an easy drive but finding the entrance is not easy right now, due to construction. I came for the Friday night West Coast Swing lessons and it was so much fun. It was a huge group of people, but it's a huge space. The instructors were fantastic. They have a good system too--beginner lesson at 7:30. Intermediate lesson at 8:15. What's nice is that at that time, beginners move into a different space for a practice session with the instructors. At 9 pm the social dancing starts. There are tables in the back and food/drink. The people who come here are really friendly. I will definitely be back, even though it's a 40 minute drive for me.”

“The place is incredible on the outside, we did not enter the place. We were taking some photos and suddenly a very angry lady came out, we didn't know why? , she opened the door, shouted something and entered again, knocking down the door... We did a photo shoot there, we're sorry if it's not allowed.”

“We had our wedding and reception at the museum in April 2023 - it was the perfect location for our 100-guest event. We had the ceremony and dinner in the courtyard, with a tent (because of uncertain weather) and a very small dance floor. There was plenty of space for more tables if you have a larger event. We used the exhibit hall for the bar, the octagonal room for dancing, and the narrow gallery for the buffet. We used the library to get dressed and to store our things during the event. The entire space, both indoor and outdoor, was lovely and perfect for the event. Dan and the rest of the staff were very welcoming and super helpful. 10/10 would recommend!”

“We held a combo Lunar New Year party and one-year wedding anniversary event at Mess Hall DC for about ~40 people and it was spectacular! Working with Al and his team from start to finish was great. Al is super responsive, helpful, and was committed to helping us realize our vision for this event. He gave me helpful recommendations on vendors (we hired a food truck to cater the event and the served food to order at the fully equipped demo kitchen / prep kitchen set-up in the event space) that he trusted and had used in the past and was on site for our whole entire event. The Mess Hall Team were fantastic all night, especially our super cool bartender that Al helped to secure for the evening for our open bar. I cannot say enough good things about the venue, Al, and his entire team. If you're looking for a unique space for your event in the DC area, then definitely check Mess Hall out!!! All of our guests loved the space and everyone had a fun evening together.”

“On St. Patrick's Day, my mom wanted green beer, so we went to The Barking Dog. The gastropub was filled with sports fanatics. Since alcoholic drinks weren't permitted in the patio area, we were seated at a booth near the bathroom. My brother had an O'Doul's, my fiancé had a Crooked Crab Haze for Days Pale Ale, my parent shared a New Trails Crisp Lager (dyed green), and I had a Green Tea Cocktail. We shared an order of Pub Pretzels, which was served warm and with a spicy cheese dipping sauce.”

“Post 41 certainly lives up to it's claim to be "The Friendliest Post in Maryland." It is run and frequented by friendly, down-to-earth people who enjoy seeing each other over good, affordable food and drinks. The Post hosts live music on weekends and does a lot of good in the community, sponsoring Cub Scouts, baseball teams, etc. It's not the busiest or flashiest place in downtown Silver Spring, but definitely a hidden gem.”

“The Rock Creek Mansion was the perfect venue to hold a celebration of life event for my husband. It's light and airy and felt intimate...perfect for sharing memories and stories. Because it was a gorgeous May day we were able to also enjoy the patio and lovely grounds. Julie Carter and the other members of the Mansion staff are wonderful! I relied on Julie's knowledge and experience and it paid off. I've gotten many compliments from family and friends about the Mansion and the friendly and accommodating staff, who flawlessly executed my plans. The sound system is excellent and we played selections from my husband's Spotify playlist, so he also had a "voice" at his memorial service. Julie, her team and the Rock Creek Mansion are stellar!”

“What a great theater! I didn't know theaters that were so kid friendly existed. I live in Northern VA, and it only took 45 minutes to get there. I will forever be in awe of everything that goes into creating the magic of a play. The performers were incredible. I can't wait to go back.”

“Cool Irish pub, lots of outdoor seating in good weather. Food was pretty good, tried the rib sandwich and it was very good. More of a non-traditional kids menu with such offerings and half a chicken breast or grilled cheese with salad.Parking: Relatively small and oddly shaped lot on site.”

“This place has improved over the years. Looks like they are redoing some green surrounds and bunkers soon too. I heard rumors they are redoing their fairways next year as well. Affordable memberships considering the area. I have friends who have been members for years and still enjoy it. The golf course is really solid. They have a great mixture of holes. A couple of drivable par 4s and all the par 5s are reachable from certain tees. Two tough par 3s on the back that can make or break a round. Green surrounds are tough if you're in the wrong spot. The greens themselves are always in fantastic shape. They are severely sloped at times, so you must be accurate with your approach shots. I couldn't find the golf course architect on their website, but they did a good job considering the hilly topography and small footprint of the property. But I can also see one hitting pretty much the exact same shots every time no matter what tee box you're playing. Favorite hole: Par 5 12th, except for the yellow range balls that litter the left side. Downhill the entire way. Range on the left, trees and then the 18th hole on the right. Reachable for many with usually a blind-ish to a peninsula green with water right and long. The very tall red stake frames the front right of the green. Very cool hole before the brutally tough par 3 13th. The driving range is good and they have really nice Titleist practice balls to hit. The short game area is outstanding. I could spend hours out there with a few wedges. They have two small-ish putting greens on either side of the clubhouse. The restaurant is a great space and they have an area for bigger events. The food and service are both good too. Sadly, I have not enjoyed the pool area. Just a solid club overall. The members I have interacted with have all been great. I have had and heard somewhat mixed interactions with the people that run the place, but nothing bad enough to write about here.”
