“Woodend was the perfect venue for our daughter’s wedding reception. The combination of elegance and natural beauty created exactly the atmosphere the bride and groom envisioned. It’s remarkable that such a peaceful, secluded setting exists inside the Beltway — with no traffic noise and stunning scenery everywhere you look.
The grounds photographed beautifully, and guests continually commented on how unique and special the venue felt. We especially appreciated how the layout allowed guests to enjoy both the lively celebration and quieter moments throughout the evening.
The planning process was smooth and well organized. Beatriz, the rental manager, was responsive, professional, and wonderful to work with, and the venue’s excellent online resources made planning especially easy. Everything about Woodend reflects thoughtful care and professionalism.
While Woodend is certainly a premium venue, the experience absolutely justified it. We would recommend it without hesitation to any couple looking for an elegant wedding in a truly beautiful natural setting.”

“Lots of family friendly events throughout the year and all sorts of food and food trucks come in to keep the list changing. During the colder months that have a fire pit and a s’more food truck type thing that is pretty cool. Del Mar is a great restaurant down there.”

What an event, soo many watch companies (many of whom are stellar micro-brands), the place was packed with enthusiasts!
We only went on March 8th but it’s a two day event.
So many brands to discover, and so many opportunities to buy fantastic watches at a large discounts. But most important of all, you get to try watches that are usually only available online.
Great atmosphere overall, wasn’t too crowded to the point where you couldn’t move. You actually get to talk in person to brand owners and their reps. And they even have daily giveaways!”

“We had an exceptional wedding at the Mess Hall this summer and cannot recommend it highly enough. From the very beginning, Al, Jordan, and the entire team were thoughtful, organized, and truly invested in making our vision come to life. Their preparation and planning were outstanding; from seamlessly connecting us with excellent vendors and caterers to offering creative, practical ideas for how to best use the space. Communication was always prompt, clear, and reassuring.
On the wedding day itself, everything ran flawlessly. The venue’s industrial character paired beautifully with modern conveniences, and the flexibility of the space made the night unforgettable. We held our ceremony and dancing outside in the dock space, while the interior provided a comfortable, stylish space for dinner and for guests who wanted a break from the dance floor. The flow of the evening felt effortless. We couldn’t have been happier with our experience and would choose the Mess Hall—and its incredible team—again without hesitation.”
“My wife and I went to see the band America here last weekend. It's the first time we had been here and we both were thoroughly impressed with all aspects of the Hall. Parking was easy to find and getting into the Hall was simple. Once in, we purchased wine, snacks and America merchandise all before the concert started.....and the inside the hall was spectacular. We bought tickets in the front row of Orchestra Center and we are so glad we did. We could see and hear everything perfectly. If you can afford it, I believe it was a much better experience because of how close we were. Having said that, the Hall was very intimate and I believe sits 1600 so I think no matter where you sit it's a great experience. All of the staff at the Hall were extremely nice and helpful. The venue is definitely worthy of a 5 star rating. After the show we walked just down the street to a sports bar and had some delicious sliders and watched the world cup on large screen TVs.”

“My 6YO daughter has been attending Tea with Mrs B for several years on days off from school and snow days and she always has the best time! I can barely get her to leave at the end of the day because she is having so much fun! Mrs B and her team do an amazing job making the kids feel adored! They know my daughter’s name when she walks in and always make her feel welcomed. They do so many fun crafts, play dress up, eat fun treats, and do some light-learning on manners that is very age appropriate and made fun! Really appreciate having this wonderful place for days school is closed, total life saver!”
“Ive tried a few clubs this was a more older entity, the wait staff although professional werent as cordial /friendly as I had hoped. The salad bar was good pesto orzo salad, and chickpea salad were great. The potatoe gnoochi was okay. 2 versions of plated cheesecake 1) slider 2) half roll cake”

“I absolutely love Yards Park, especially during the summertime when I’m able to go on runs there. For example, today I only planned to run a mile, but because the scenery and atmosphere are so nice, I ended up running longer. It’s such a pretty area to walk, run, or just hang out by the water.
It’s also home to some of my favorite spots, including Osteria Morini and Barry’s, which makes the area even better. Overall, it’s one of my favorite places in DC and such a perfect spot to spend time when the weather is nice.”

“WONDERFUL. For a nice, self guided tour of US Navy History, this is the place. Clean and comfortable, you'll enjoy getting out of the heat or cold. The first shop offers all US Military branch souvenirs. I love coming here on every trip to DC.”

We attended a kids painting class and it was really fun for the little ones. Teacher was great and interactive. Overall a great experience and we will be back”
“Creative Saints Loft is a phenomenal space, and the owner is amazing as well. I cohosted a vision board workshop in the space and it was the perfect venue. The lighting, decor, seating options, and versatile space are all things I loved. The booking process was smooth. Entry, setup, and breakdown was smooth. I would absolutely book the space again and highly recommend!”

“When I travel to DC I normally stay in the Navy Yard at a Hilton property. I saw a new option in a new location and thought I would try something new. I called the hotel and spoke with Tyler, (manager). Tyler welcomed me and also upgraded my room per my request. Upon arrival, I was concerned that the rooms would be tiny and not comfortable. WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! My room was spacious with a dining space and a living room area. JACKPOT! I had a separate bedroom and bathroom within the bedroom. There was also a balcony! The rooms are beautiful and well appointed. I ventured downstairs to the restaurant for Happy Hour. I met Ally, Alan and Brandon. They welcomed me with the warmth of close family. I had a blast. We talked about everything under the sun. From sports to family and life. Brandon and Alan are ambassadors to DC and their knowledge of the history of Washington DC is unmatched. They were informative and I was in awe. Ally recommended wines that were phenomenal. The wine selection is awesome. Even the happy hour wines are dignified selections. The Mixologist's knowledge base is vast. I learned so much about wine and alcohol during our conversations. You have to stop in and enjoy the experience for yourself. I tried several appetizers. My favorite; the meatballs! The oysters were tasty. The chicken wings are flavorful and fantastic. All of this made for a memorable experience. THANKS Ally, Alan and Brandon! I can't imagine the restaurant without your positive energy. I will surely be back to see you, well once I stop extending my current stay! Blessings!”
“We had our wedding at HQO, and we had an amazing time. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are beautiful and spacious. We had 145 people at our wedding and everyone fit comfortably. We worked with Raul throughout the wedding planning process, and he was a pleasure to work with. We had lots of meetings and walkthroughs to coordinate everything with HQO and our vendors, and the process was smooth and Raul was so helpful and friendly throughout.”
