Built the air traffic control tower installing the cab and tower glass. One of my favorite projects.

It's confusing to get to. Google maps takes you go on many private roads. Try to avoid Hartwell Ave. It doesn't take you to a good entrance.

I have been flying from KBED since I got my private pilot license. The airport is great; installations, services, very well trained air controllers... Oh, and if you fly in winter, don't worry at all! They do an excellent job in removing the snow from the taxi ways and the runways!! Not everything can be perfect; KBED is a busy airport. So when planning a flight expect to wait some time before you're finally clear to take off. Same thing when coming back; expect some delays before landing. Also, don't look for the cheapest fuel there... Hanscom is one of the most expensive airport in terms of fuel.

Although this airport only has two runways (5/23 and 11/29), Hanscom Airfield is a highly efficient field for use of small aircraft and executive private jets. The staff of the airport is friendly, and I always feel welcomed when I am around. John Henry flies his jet from this lovely little hub of air transit, which definitely adds to the cool factor!

Great controllers, two instrument landing systems, GPS LPV approaches, and tremendous ability to clear snow off the runways, taxiways, and ramps. This is truly an all-weather airport.

It's great to have such a big and well maintained airport close by, one could definitely argue for it to be first class. The only draw back would be that it is New England's second busiest airport and, well ... it's just REALLY busy! While on many levels that would be a beneficial thing it can make pattern work quite lengthy. All in all it's a fantastic training airport; although beyond that they're predominately trying to attract jet traffic, fortunately they put up with us slow single engine guys!
