The decor is the first thing you notice, and it's absolutely flawless. Wood molding, dark paints, curio cases with antique and odd objects. It perfectly sets the tone for the shop.
The shop specializes in teas and candles, mostly. The tea varieties are wide and delicious. They even have tea bricks, the type which were historically used for transportation of tea. The candles smell so good, are utterly distinctive, and are absolutely loaded with fragrance. They transform a room.
Even though those are the main products, though... It doesn't really feel like that. Yes, they have accessories, tea infusers, soaps that smell like the candles, shaving supplies... But even that doesn't to D&M justice. It's like every little corner and nook you look in has something fascinating. Maybe it's for sale, maybe it's not. But it makes you want to look and discuss with the staff who are all incredible.
D&M is a shop that does what it set out to do absolutely perfectly.”

“This store is attached in the back to two other stores, so you can go to oak+moss, spruce home and roost if you are in a wheelchair. Very nice employees helped me go through the back hallway so I could appreciate all of what each store had. Everything was so nice and we definitely bought our share of items. I would highly recommend if you are in a wheelchair and need extra help.”

“I recently had a wonderful experience at Ethan Allen while shopping for a new sofa and chair. My husband and I were ready to refresh our living room after having the same furniture for many years. We wanted an updated look without replacing everything or exceeding our budget.
I originally went in with a specific sofa in mind, but after discussing our space and vision with Sam, he recommended options I had not considered. He immediately recognized that our existing furniture looked too small for our large living room and suggested a larger sofa to become the focal point of the room. He also recommended replacing our loveseat with a chair to better balance the space and suggested moving our larger dining room rug into the living room. This simple change created the right balance in the room and was another example of how Sam helped us refresh our space while staying within our budget. He was absolutely right on every recommendation.
One of the most challenging parts of the process was choosing from Ethan Allen’s incredible selection of fabrics. The choices are endless, and Sam was beyond patient as I changed my mind, asked countless questions, and compared different options. When I had difficulty visualizing how certain fabrics and choices would look in our space, Sam went above and beyond by coming to our home to help guide us. His knowledge, honesty, and eye for design made what could have been a daunting decision much easier.
After receiving our furniture, we couldn’t be happier with the result. Our living room has been completely transformed into a beautiful, updated space while still incorporating pieces we wanted to keep. Sam truly understood our vision, respected our budget, and made the entire experience enjoyable. We are so grateful for his patience, expertise, and thoughtful recommendations. If you are shopping at Ethan Allen, I highly recommend asking for Sam.”

“We stopped here recently while driving through Essex. This is a fun store on the local antique trail. The antiques here tend to be more on the "upper" end, focusing on furniture and artwork. There is parking available out front, and the owner was cheerful and welcoming. Well worth a stop if you're out hunting for antique furnishings. “I happened to stop by this store by chance, being in the area and needed something. What I expected was a paint store with the usual help that one might expect, I.e., get some questions answered and that is it. What I pleasantly discovered was that Van and Angela, who are there most days at the paint counter, were the most helpful and eager staff I could have encountered, I might say in any kind of a retail environment. I was in the discovery phase of color selection and Van not only helped mix some colors, but went above and beyond and helped me with preparing sample color boards. I was not expecting them to be so accommodating and all the while with such pleasant attitude. I went back there several times, well out of the way for me, to narrow down my discovery and each time I received the same level of focused attention and courteous service. The color I ended up with was a very specific and delicate blend of three base colors and Van was superb in matching the sample to the larger quantity I needed. I also happened to engage with Heidi in their Wallpaper section, and she was equally helpful. This review is to let anyone know that if you want to just buy paint and move on, any place might do. But, if you want great service and friendly help, then this particular store is the place to stop by.”

I got a Creature From The Black Lagoon print as well as some beetles in amber and brass dinosaurs. That just tells you the variety! The owner was very nice and personable! Everything was very reasonable in price. :)”

“Don Dalton was our salesperson and probably had the easiest sale ever when he bumped into us. We had already purchased a couch here eight years ago and it was a great experience. So, we tried the other guy off of 128 to get a better price and after three years we saw it was starting to degrade. The quality difference is now so obvious we had to scurry back to Lay-Z-Boy. Don was awesome and the price was great. I’m sure delivery will go as smoothly as the last purchase from this store.

“I just completed a lengthy remodel. I selected Lucia Lighting because I favor local shopkeepers and have used them before. I worked with a lighting specialist who guided me carefully and thoughtfully through the process. Patty S. is a real asset to the business Most recently the final piece of lighting was hung by my electrician, he flubbed it. I called Lucia, it was my consultant's day off but Lynda sprang into action! Before I knew it Lucy ( owner) and a lighting technician drove to my home to correctly hung the piece! YOU CANT BUY THAT KIND OF SERVICE. IT COMES FROM THE HEART! I would recommend this lighting store to anyone, their selection is fantastic and their staff and owner are spectacular”

“Great refillery store and helpful staff to find items of your needs and recommend you plastic free and sustainable products. There are testers for lotions, creams, deodorant etc which is helpful. There are recycling programs at the store for snack wrappers and other household products. Feels pretty great to make a little difference one at a time :)
There is paid town parking and it’s cheap to park for a quick shopping trip.”
