Gorgeous sunny studio and a challenging yet mindfully paced workout

Katrina's classes are the best for those who wish to push their fitness to their absolute limits. Since attending the Hardcore Class, I've been seeing and feeling the results. I'm more active, and people say the hard work has paid off. If the body is a race car at the Monaco Grand Prix, Katrina is the mechanic to give it the winning edge.

Don’t know how the classes are but this is for the studio communication. Booked first class and received zero email/preparation communication. Was notified I got off the waitlist an hour prior to class. Rushed here 3min late and wasn’t let in. Completely understand policy but this is my 1000th reformer class. If the communication isn’t tight at least be a bit more accommodating.

I recently moved to Boston, MA from Cleveland, OH and was looking for a new fitness studio. It's always a little nerve wracking trying new studios but SLT has been great! They are very welcoming, helpful with cues & incredibly understanding. If you are on the fence of trying one of their classes, this is your sign to try one! You'll either be humbled, sore, addicted or all of the above. :)

Booked thru classpass. Was late for just 5mins and then I can't be allowed into the studio (no info said from the studio Or classpass I can't be allowed into it if i were 5 minutes late). I just missed 5mins because of the Friday traffic...then I get charged for the class + extra $31 charged for I missed the class + one hour wasted waiting and calling to talk with the studio.

No words for how much I love this place. I just moved out of the city - but at one point I was going almost every day. For me, I think it would take around 100 classes to get really good- but im also a lifter. I noticed real changes in my body around class 20. ADORE every instructor here - they actually correct form and care.

Great workout but the studio community feels a bit cliquey and less into supporting those with curvier bodies.

Lovely studio. I would have to say based on my prior experience with reformer pilates that SLT is not for beginners (or people trying to get back in shape post COVID). Really wish they offered more modifications or beginners classes.

If you are looking for a deflating customer experience, this is the place for you. I am a big fan Megareformer workouts and I've done these in several other studios in the area (the studio Empower in Newton before it shut down) and in California. So I was excited when I found that SLT offers this class and I bought the 3-class package. I show up to the first class about 2 min late (parking on Newbury can be tricky) to be met with the not so wonderful Katrina Brewer who initially was about to let me into class, but as she opened the door she asks whether this was my first class here, I answered that it was my first class at this studio but I'm familiar with the Megareformer system. That was not good enough for her and insisted that as a new client I needed to come in 10 min earlier to get a 10 min "demo" for the Megareformer, with the excuse that without this demo new clients won't be able to setup/use the machine without the instructor's help. The issue with this is that this was not conveyed to me ahead of time. I explained that I know how to use the system and have used it at a studio she's familiar with, and as a lifelong athlete (professional tennis player/Division 1 tennis) I know how to follow an instructor's workout routine. On top of that, the class had 4 people with most of the machines being empty so I could easily hop on one of the machines in the back without disrupting the class. The line that I got was that the policy is the policy, and that's fine if we are dealing with a Covid-19 testing facility but it's a half empty studio that's supposed to provide a stress-free, fun and supportive environment. The workout is probably great but my experience with this staff member was disrespectful and demoralizing.

WOW! I am already obsessed and I've only taken one class. The instructor was so sweet and made sure I felt supported the whole time. The workout was challenging in the best way possible.

The workout is alright but the staff make everyone feel uncomfortable. If it’s your first class, it would be really helpful to have a heads up email that grip socks are required or you’ll be charged $16 to buy them in-store. The front desk staff are dismissive of any questions and made us feel like she was taking out her anger on the clients. Once working out, the instructor kept telling the whole class to “pay attention” and she “wouldn’t say it twice” even though half of them had not done it before and were lost. Overall, not a great experience. For the price, Solidcore is much better as are most traditional Pilates classes. If you’re looking for a hard workout that produces results with helpful coaches, I would look at Solidcore or even just most traditional Pilates studios. One positive is that this studio is relatively socially distant.

This class was what what got me ready for my 2020 competition season. I dance professionally in ballroom and needed something to challenge my core and balance, while still building strength. The class really helped to stabilize the imbalances in my body. My turns have been faster, I've been more steady in my dance shoes, and my muscles are much more defined without lookIng bulky. I am very short on time, so being able to go for a 50 minute full body workout twice a week has given me the most bang for my money and my schedule. All the instructors are GREAT. No matter what your fitness background is, this class will transform you. I highly recommend getting the unlimited pass!! Self care is the best care. The membership is the best investment you can make for yourself

Though expensive at $30+ a session, it's a great work out for the big and small muscles on your body. The muscles you never knew you had... Very clean studio with ~20 megaformers with good instructors. My first class I thought was easy and didn't feel too much after, probably bc I wasn't doing it right. second class I felt so sore! They sell/rent grip socks which you need to take classes.
