Fine hotel, great location, just AVOID the valet. The hotel is great, what I have appreciated about the Liberty since it opened, and I have been a frequent patron over the last 15 years. In all this time I have never encountered what happened to my vehicle that was valeted every day for a long stay from 3/9 to 3/17. On our last night we dropped off a Cayenne with the valet even of Sat 3/16. When we got the car back upon checking out on Sunday morning, the front passenger seat was pushed all the way back as far as the seat can go, and brought as high as possible. The sun visor was also brought down and the mirror on the visor was opened and the light was left on. This is clearly not the position of the seat when we dropped off the car. It is not conceivable how a valet driving the car would be changing the position of the passenger side. The state of the seat arrangement is eerily suggestive that our car was used for extracurricular activities that should never have occurred to a vehicle entrusted to the valet. Because of this incident, o will be staying at the other options in the area and where I can park and lock the car myself.

My son is getting married in Boston in May, we spoke with the Liberty Hotel sales staff to reserve a block of rooms in Feb of 2023. We were instructed by staff to block a minimum of rooms and that as they filled and we got closer to event we could add rooms. That was a lie! We are expecting over 200 guests and the small block of rooms their sales staff provided filled quickly and when we went back to the Liberty sales staff they dragged their feet, ignored our requests and simply made a choice to not honor their previous commitments for adding more rooms to the block, even though we were more than a year out! This is not the way Marriott Corp does business! The sales & management of the Liberty need to go back to business etiquette school. Don’t make promises you never intended to keep! If you are considering the Liberty for a wedding event, don’t be fooled into thinking they are looking out for your best interest! They are simply reeling you in with a small teaser of rooms with the intent of sticking it to the majority of your guests @ 3 to 4 times the initial block rate offered!

A very unique lodging experience conveniently located right next to Mass General Hospital. The service was fantastic, especially at the restaurant.

Cute hotel! We loved the rustic vibe and ambience. The restaurant and bar in the hotel are beautiful. Also amazing location. You can walk to almost anywhere in the city in 20 mins. Our room was the Delux King Room but it was still on the smaller side. However- The bathroom was huge. I love that Marriott is now stocking full size bottles of shampoo and conditioner in their showers. Not sure if it was because the hotel was rebuilt but there were not many outlets in the room which was a bit inconvenient.

Former city jail converted to a luxury hotel, the decor preserves the building and some of the internal architecture. Rooms are nice but amenities very limited. Fitness center a small studio sized room allowing only a max of 5 people at any given time. Restaurants good food but very much overpriced even for Boston standards. The biggest draw is the location. Literally right next to MGH and Mass Eye and Ear and across the street from the Charles/MGH Red Line T stop. Many restaurants within a 5 min walking distance and a 24 hour CVS available within a 4 min walk for sundries and other supplies.Rooms: Limited toiletriesNearby activities: Right next to T stop and MGHWalkability: Easy walk to CVS and other restaurantsFood & drinks: Overpriced

They say they have changed from a prison to a hotel although I don’t see much change in the rules they have. My buddy and I went down to ask for robes due to the fact our room phone did not work then they came to our room and complained we went down to the lobby while being under 21. Terrible experience do not

Great atmosphere! Rooms are nice for sure. Beds are as you'd expect from a Marriott property. Did notice some debris in the hallways that hadn't been cleaned during the stay, but to be fair, I only stayed the night.

Stayed at this hotel. The staff is averagely friendly. Let me start with the fact that leaving a car in the parking lot for hotel guests costs $70 (!), although in normal “luxury” hotels they do not charge guests for parking. The room is clean, everything is in order, but a couple of spouses were given one robe and zero slippers. There is only one mini lotion in the bathroom, although there are two of us. They will charge you another $15 for internet in this hotel, and it will not work well. If you are thirsty, there is only a fee for water here, $12 per bottle. Also there is a night club and it’s very loudly in the lobby and other zone. Happy, that in the room it was ok. I no longer want to stay here in the future.

We were in Boston with our daughters and we thought about your hotel to enjoy with them. They offered us a room upgrade which we accepted but THE HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE WAS NOT UP TO THE STANDARD. Three days passed without cleaning our room. We called twice to have our beds made. I repeat, it was 3 days without cleaning our room. Even though we were not in the whole afternoonFourth, they didn't clean it. The experience was terrible, in a suite with a very nice view.we will not return

I had a $700 Liberty Hotel gift card and tried to use it for dinner at Liberty's Clink restaurant, which the hotel confirmed would be honored. I spent $550 on a family dinner however Clink did not honor the gift card saying they could not locate the card in their system. The card is in a Clink sleeve and has not been used. They promised a call back the next day. No call. I called three more times to get a manager to get to the bottom of the issue, no reply to any messages. I will work with Mass AG to resolve the financial issue, but the service has been unfathomably bad especially considering the price of the dinner. Great meal. Great location. Great staff. Clearly not engaged management staff. So utterly disappointed and fuming at the level of disrespect and ambivalent attitude towards a customer.

I stayed in the Boston Liberty hotel in early December. The room was fantastic, the location is great, and the bar is neat. The major problem I had was, my shower did not have warm water. When I went to check out, the staff let me know that I would be compensated for the inconvenience, but this NEVER happened. I am loyal to Marriott so this is extremely frustrating.
