About The Liberty, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Boston
The Liberty, a Luxury Collection Hotel, is a unique and historic establishment located in Boston, once a jail dating back to 1851. Guests appreciate its central location, making it easy to explore nearby attractions like Mass General, MIT, and the Charles River. The hotel features an attractive atrium and offers a variety of dining options with excellent food, particularly noted at Clink. The staff is described as professional, friendly, and accommodating, contributing to a pleasant atmosphere.
However, the hotel has received mixed reviews regarding room quality and amenities. Some guests have reported issues such as shabby furniture, noisy plumbing, and a lack of basic amenities like coffee service and microwaves. There were also concerns about room cleanliness and functionality, including broken shower doors and malfunctioning TVs. Despite these drawbacks, many guests found the hotel’s charm, rooted in its historical significance, to be a highlight.
Overall, The Liberty combines modern luxury with a rich history and offers a distinctive experience, although some improvements are needed to meet the expectations of its luxury branding.
Good hotel overall. Rooms a bit small, but decent. Wasn't super clear that I got much in the way of an upgrade (lifetime titanium). Si you don't have to pack your own stuff - they have molton brown, which is a nice touch. Only complaint is traffic/sirens at ungodly hours of the night.

Very nice hotel, however our room was next to the outdoor patio which was blasting music and we were unable to sleep. I called the front desk to ask what time the patio closed and if the music would stop and the answer I got was “I don’t know.”

Great time at the Liberty, very cool ambiance. This past Thursday there was an awesome modeling show with a live dj that elevated the experience. I want to shoutout a bartender named Collin, he made some great drinks and shared cool stories. I will have to revisit again!
