The person who checked me in was the most impersonal person I have ever met. I walked up to the counter, he was on his phone. I stood there waiting for him to say "hello, or may I help you". NOTHING. On a scale of 12 to ten, I would rate this person negative 30. I stood there waiting, he just looked at me, said NOTHING. If this person represents U-Haul, it's a sad state of affairs. Honestly I would have walked away and gone elsewhere if I did not need the rental. If I was the manager, I would fire this person immediately, no questions asked.

I rented a trailer online. The staff were very friendly and helpful making sure my vehicle could safely tow the trailer. The trailer was clean and well maintained. Unattended drop off is easy with the uhaul website or app.

U-Haul's central booking created a lot of stress for me (prompted me to book a cargo van for a one-way trip from Boston to NYC, whereas according to the Brighton manager, these vehicles can't be booked for one-way travel outside the local area), so I ended up with a larger truck with much worse gas mileage and neither what I needed nor wanted. The furniture dolly that I booked wasn't available either.Despite this, Isaiah, the Brighton site manager, went out of his way to make this a great experience. He found a hand truck for me, and he comped me for the increase in gas expense I'd have to pay, and most importantly, he tried to put me at ease regarding driving the larger truck. Isaiah is a model for the rest of the company to follow!

Negative reviews don't align with my experience Only criticism I have is placement of plastic trash barrel next to Customer Service entrance Allston/Brighton has vicious Rat problem - that can be verified with city 6-1-1 - it has little to do with how clean/dirty area is; that being said, there are necessary steps/interventions to control issue Rats are like hybrid, steroid, small dog sized, bold & disease-ridden - be very mindful entering/exiting after dark As I approached to toss Starbucks trash in, whole barrel shook & moved - I knew exactly what it was & warned Customer Service Staff & other customers Cardboard is literal Rat Candy, so of course they lurk around U-Haul but a steel trash barrel with a lid or even more mindful placement away from Customer Entrance would be helpful (Rats can't chew thru steel - they literally eat thru plastic barrels - this one is no exception) Staff were very helpful - Isaiah checked me in answering all questions, explaining details as well as upgrading & discounting rental - didn't catch name of man processing return but he too was very helpful & mindful of expenses - excellent Customer Service Equipment was clean & well-maintained as well My experience was excellent Highly recommend Brighton location

If you use this location, do not park in their parking lot. You may get blocked in by other customers leaving trucks in the return lane. Staff are helpful and reasonable.

The employees were very rude. There was no ink so they couldn’t print my receipt. The gas was incorrect but because I didn’t get a receipt , I had no idea what it should be at. The truck was absolutely disgusting. It was sticky and covered in cigarettes.

Just to balance out my previous witheringly negative review of the Framingham/Southborough location, l want to submit a glowing review for the Brighton location. I rented a trailer at the peak of moving season here in Boston. These folks were absolutely slammed for days. The trailer I had reserved was damaged and they easily substituted another on my rental. Because I had reserved an open utility trailer (the only one available online at the time of the reservation), I also rented moving blankets and purchased tie-down straps with the order. Since I no longer needed these items for the cargo trailer they gave me, the employee at Brighton easily refunded them. No sweat.We went outside, hooked up the trailer, tested the lights, and I was on my way. That simple. The entire process took about 10 minutes from start to finish.When I returned my trailer, I was told where to back it in. I did so, the employee unhooked me, and I was again on my way. 5 minutes, if that.Perfect. I couldn't have asked for better service.

Terrible service. The attendant does not properly communicate. Cancels reservations without notification. Expect poor service.

Completely seamless experience. I needed a small truck for a week to store garage items while the floors were being epoxied. Isaiah was the attendant when I picked up. This guy was helping three customers at the same time and tending to each of their needs politely and efficiently. There were 6 people in line when I arrived and unthought it would take 1/2 an hour. He had me checked in and in a truck in 5 minutes! Truck was fine. On return Sam helped me and was equally pleasant and professional. Not sure who is writing less than 5 star reviews but likely people who are stressed about their move, having a bad day and wanting to complain about something without reason. Thank you U-Haul!

Do not rent from here if you can help it. The manager (who I’m guessing is named Isaiah based off the other review) is the rudest person I have ever encountered.I have so much sympathy for employees anywhere and I try to never be a karen. However, this guy should absolutely not be working with customers.I chose self check out and experienced an issue scanning my license. This man proceeded to talk over me, did not let me explain, and told me to go back to the live chat and try again. When the agent told me to return in store to fix my issue, the man began rudely talking over me again and saying that I was late and that was the reason it did not work. This despite the fact our reservation was at 1pm and we had waited in line for him only to refuse to help us until we were late.When he finally chose to listen to what we said he again began shouting at us in a crowded store that they have a new policy to not allow international drivers without a permit. I asked what else we could do and if he could show us this policy because I had rented without issue just last week.He then proceeded to again shout, talk over us, and leave to help someone else. When he returned he ignored us and told us he would not be helping us. When I asked for his name to submit a complaint he refused and told me he will not give me his name and there is nothing I can do about that.The lady working with him promptly helped us in 5 minutes without yelling or being rude at all. This man could not be bothered to take that effort and instead chose to be rude for absolutely no reason.

The two staff members on duty were busy working on a personal car and wanted me to "wait a minute" to return my trailer. After 10 minutes of waiting, I told them I would unload the 6'x12' trailer by myself, which they did not offer to help me with. I unloaded the trailer and asked for a walk through to ensure the trailer was in good shape, which they grumbled about until I pushed the issue and forced them to do the walkthrough. There were other customers waiting at the same time. Completely and totally unacceptable customer service experience - I am happy I did not hurt myself removing the trailer without their assistance (their responsibility after all)
