Took my dog for a bump check near his thigh 12/8/2023. Was advised in order to biopsy the lump for malignancy my dog would have to be sedated- understandable. We were given sedating medication and told to come in the following Friday 12/15. Fast fwd to the day 12/15. We were not in schedule first off, we then saw a provider whom didn’t feel comfortable doing the biopsy without a 1000$ scan. This whole time my dog is sedated for no reason? What a waste of time, money and resources banfield is.

I came to the hospital with my friend to solve a problem with her dogs medicine and the girl of front desk was completely rude. Honestly makes me feel like she shouldn’t be working in this type of business. Before coming to the hospital in person we called and spoke with the same girl and she was rude over the phone as well, no help at all.I wish you guys had better people working as front desk, because it’s really frustrating when you’re having a problem with your dog and still have to deal with someone being completely rude about it.We’ll never come back again!

The front desk receptionist was extremely rude as she explained next steps after the initial intake of my dog. Shortly after, i was asked to retrieve health records, which i did within 10 minutes. Yet, I was told she may need to be rescheduled since I didn’t have them prior to my visit. How is that relevant when I was told the vet has other appointments at the same time I need to wait 1-2 hours to treat. If I can’t get my records in less than 15 minutes why am I required to wait 2 hours?I’d never return to this pet hospital. They are also ridiculously overpriced. Go to VETCO in Medford to get better service and prices.

Poor customer service, they made fun of me and my disability trying to care for my animal. It’s not right that their plan is complicated, to learn due to the information, isn’t on the pamphlet . Plus, doesn’t cover everything . Furthermore, they speak extremely fast and expect you to quickly memorize. They’re all about chemicals and money. They don’t care about pets and their owner’s decision making. About non chemicals. Which, are better for pets and their owners. Not an optimal health plan , for animals.

Tried to call NUMEROUS times recently and no on ever answers and if they do I can never get straight answers on scheduling. Everett is the easier location for me however their next appointment isn't until two weeks out and they suggested I called Cambridge and unfortunately, my poor Buddy is suffering and I explained that to Cambridge. He is an almost 13 yr old pit-mix that can hardly walk, showing advanced signs of Cushing's disease, and other signs that show the end is near. The one time Cambridge answered she accused me of googling too much and Cushing's is diagnosed by a blood test, which I also knew bc of my googling.I won't even book an appointment bc if people at the front desk are this obnoxious and hard to get in touch with and all the other reviews are THIS bad, I will wait until tomorrow and go to my normal vet that takes walk in's. And I can't believe in 8yrs (the amount of reviews I've read) Cambridge Banfield hasn't changed. You you would think PetSmart would offer someone some money to clean that place up so pets literally aren't dying who are going to get their teeth cleaned, people aren't getting hung up on, and your front dest people aren't most jerks. It's a bad look. I have a business degree that I got during covid out of boredom and one thing I learned is if you keep your employees happy, they will stay and they will treat your customers/patients better which means more money for you and better reviews, instead of one star reviews for YEARS. It's a bad look and you are doing it wrong Bandield. One review said that Cambridge just can't keep employees. Patients want to see the same faces where they take their pets. I know I trust my normal vet more bc I have seen the same faces for over 15 yrs (my dogs before this one). Building rapport with patients is a good look. Seeing new people working every time makes me wonder "ok, what's wrong with this place????'. Of course there will be some change over bc people move or find better pay, but for the most part, seeing the same vets or even front desk crew makes me trust my vets office more.My normal vet has a rating of 4.8. Problem is they aren't open on weekends but we will be going first thing tomorrow morning.

I am very dissatisfied with this Banfield location. The care they provided to my dog was average (if you're looking for a vet that can do the job, this location would serve). However, their scheduling and communications leave MUCH to be desired. They call 2+ times and email to confirm appointments (it's truly excessive). When they cancel appointments, they don't reschedule them and require you to follow up. When they canceled my dog's spay surgery (because the vet had a family emergency, totally understandable), they offered me an appointment at another location. After I explained that the location would be costly and difficult for me to go to, they told me they could get my dog in for her surgery 4+ months later. I asked why they couldn't see the dogs they canceled earlier, I was told that's just how it is and that it was *my fault* for being unwilling to go to another location. Even when I explained their rescheduling policy would put me in breach of contract with my breeder, they said "sorry, not our problem." So, I guess I have to spend 2hr+ round trip drive time and $$$ to go to another location because that will be less than $$$$ for breach of contract.Because of the experiences with poor communication and terrible rescheduling policies at this Banfield location, Banfield will lose me as a customer once my OWP expires.

We love the vets and the wellness plan that saves us so much money. The techs are great, too.

The service at this pet hospital is terrible. If u care about your pet, do not go here. I took my cat for a fecal test on Tuesday because I saw parasites segments coming out of his butt. Doctor gave him dewormer without having the test result, saying the test result will come out the next day. He is going to call the next day. Weird prescription. Dewormer before test result??? I did not receive a call for a week. I called on Tuesday. The lady pick up the phone is extremely rude. Trying to hang up as soon as possible. If u really don’t like the job, don’t do it! I requested her to send me a test result. She said she sees the result all normal but cannot sent it to me. I asked to talk to the doctor because the doctor confirmed with me to call him if I still see parasites after dewormer. She replied the best she can do to connect is to leave a note. I asked around what time I will be expecting a call? I asked this because I didn’t received the previous calls like they promised. She replied rudely which means: “sir u will receive a call when we call u.”I saw this lady Tuesday when I go in. Apparently, someone else is on the phone with her who had similar problem and got treated with same attitude. She told the person on the phone that doctor was not that day. However, it is the very vet who is seeing my pet. (I don’t want to leave any names here)I suspect that they didn’t really run the test. I can see with my bare eyes tapeworm segments in my cat’s butt. And their result simply said no value. U can see abnormal parasites with bare eyes and not under a microscope? And what kind of lab report said: “no value” and nothing else? I saw this test result later on my banfield account.Irresponsible vet. Irritating customer service.

I think that Banfield Cambridge don't care about customers or animal well-being.With their drop-off system and the permanent turn-over of veterinarians, our cats were not well last times we went to this place. For me the drop-off system, it's also not customer friendly for the owner. It's quite impossible to join them by phone, unless you've an hour to loose.Last year, I don't what happens but Oakley which is a very nice cat, was completely stressed and Banfield Cambridge called me because they wanted to drug it to make the examination. We asked a letter saying that our cat is okay for my daughter being able to bring as an animal support to Amherst college ; Banfield Cambridge refused. We had to find another vet to do it...Last time was the worst : I took an appointment 45 days ago at Banfield Cambridge for may 31st (10 day before my flight to France) to get an online International Health Certificate, submitted to USDA. The week-end before, Banfield move our appointment to may 30th. I went there at 8:15AM and lost 90 min, before Banfield told me that the appointment should be on May 31st but they cannot do it because the veterinarian is in vacation. They called Banfield Danvers and book me there. I came back to Banfield Cambridge to say I was not satisfied because it means I have to drive 5 hours to drop-off my cat there and get it back with the paper on the evening. They recognize that they don't have anymore an USDA certified veterinarian in any MA Banfield (it seems he/she resigned), and it's why they cannot no do the online submission on the USDA site as they agreed to do 45 days ago. They cancelled this appointment 10 days before the flight, and if they didn't care if their solution makes me drive 5 hours to get a piece of paper.I checked USDA website and realized that USDA only endorsed International Health Certificate, written by USDA certified veterinarian. So, even if Banfield MA would have done this certificate, I'm not sure USDA would have endorsed it.Finally, I was lucky they're so messed up. I took me the day but I found a real USDA certified veterinarian, who agreed to do this online submission today. I've found my new pet's clinic and it's not Banfield.

They've repeatedly rescheduled our appointment (pushing it back weeks at a time) to get our dog spayed despite the fact this is a time sensitive matter. We have a vacation planned and then are relocating and now they are asking to reschedule again when we are already on vacation. Their wellness plan is not worth it if you can't get your dog spayed!

This Banfield Pet Hospital, the Cambridge, MA Banfield Pet Hospital, that was previously located in the Cambridge, MA/Fresh Pond PetSmart, is RELOCATED NOW to a freestanding, beautiful Banfield Pet Hospital at 229 Alewife Brook Pkwy in Cambridge, MA. For "Old Timers" the Banfield Pet Hospital is NOW where the Ground Round used to be, on the way to the former Sancta Maria Hospital.Hopefully, this Banfield can take on a fresh, new start, in their beautiful new hospital. I'd say the first thing the Cambridge, MA Banfield Hospital needs to do is bring some stability to their Veterinarian workforce, and recruit docs the likes of former Banfield-Cambridge Veterinarians, Drs. Taylor, Wolfe, and Leuchte. There was a day when this Banfield hospital had Veterinarians who offered their pets fantastic medical care, and was well run, the likes of Drs. Taylor, Wolfe, and Leuchte (each, a fantastic Veterinarian). As has been described by at least one other poster, in my opinion, Banfield, as a brand, and their Corporate enterprise, has been on a steep decline, for several years, which breaks my heart, as our dogs have received excellent medical care at Banfield for 20 years(!), on Banfield Wellness Plans, and by many once Rock Star Banfield Veterinarians, and nursing and support staff. But, Banfield, in my opinion, has become evil, and lost touch with their mission and their clients, and their pets (and reality, in favor of/replaced by corporate greed). Banfield needs to make their #1, priority, recruiting excellent Veterinarians, and overseeing their medical care, through an effective Continuous Quality Improvement program (Banfield once had one of those, to support their anesthetic care). #2, In my opinion, their next priority has got to be setting realistic hours of operation for their hospital (Banfield's current hours of operation at their Everett, MA hospital are a disgrace (Banfield has had one excuse after another for three years about the hours of operation of the Everett, MA Banfield hospital)), followed by #3, training their nursing staff and support staff to do their jobs, and giving them the resources they need to do their jobs, #4, Banfield, is years behind the times, requiring their hospitals to become AAHA (American Animal Hospital Association) accredited (to ensure that Banfield Hospitals deliver optimal patient care, and ensure patient (animal) safety), #5, Banfield needs to stop selling Wellness Plans to customers that they cannot support. It seems that Banfield is being extremely greedy, and unethical, about selling Wellness Plans to customers/pets that they do not have the available resources, including Veterinarians, hospitals, support staff, and open hours, to support. It broke my heart to visit the Banfield Hospital in Everett, MA, and to see a very hard-working pet-parent population, people who may work extra hours (or sacrifice food on their own table, or heat) just to take care of their pet, and to see Banfield extorting them, by selling them a Wellness Plan, that Banfield knows that they cannot deliver on. That is extortion, and should be on our new state Attorney General's slate for the upcoming year. Finally, #6, Banfield needs to make patient safety and anesthetic patient safety their #1 patient-centric priority. In summary, I can only hope that the Cambridge, MA Banfield hospital returns to the stardom that it once enjoyed.

I would put 0 stars if I could.Staff is incompetent, dogs are being tortured and traumatized. We took our little chinese crested dog to them on Monday because he seemed to be in a lot of pain and was lethargic (wouldn't get up to eat or drink). They told us that he had no issues and could have a bit of pain due to the cold weather. The next day our poor little baby was paralyzed and had lost his capacity to feel in his front legs/paws. He couldn't stand up without falling. We took him to the ER at Angell, where they immediately treated him with opioids and ran multiple tests: they observed that he couldn't move his neck and had neurological issues. He stayed there for 3 days, saw a neurologist and a cardiologist but now has neurological damage. It would have likely been avoided if the staff at Banfield had done a comprehensive exam and noticed his issues the day before. They saw nothing. This is heart breaking. Please don't go to this vet, we payed the price both emotionally and financially. I hope our story can help other dogs.
