CIMC is a serene building which holds many talks, meditation sessions and classes. Narayan is my absolute favorite teacher but all of the teachers are skilled. Larry Rosenberg was involved for many years as the head teacher but I don’t think he is anymore. Go check this place out. It will help you. Also they have a 15 minute Daily Dharma zoom every weekday from 8:45 till 9:00. There are hundreds of people who join from all over the world. It’s a really fantastic way to start your day.

CIMC is a wonderful place. The teachers are all brilliant, kind, generous, and understanding. Each of them offers the teachings of the Buddha in their own way - making them accessible to a wide range of people who come to learn about and practice meditation.Meditation is described as more than sitting on a cushion - it is a way of living life, of listening to ourselves and others, of becoming kinder and more compassionate. The actual building is beautiful, simple, and welcoming. If you haven't been there - try it! It can become your spiritual home, as it has for me.

The MBSR class, 24 plus hours, is good for content, but absolutelylacking in any group experience, therefore, barely meaningful. After all these hours in a 10 person class, I know not the names nor interest of my fellow participants. There is no group sharing.Really? And the instructor ask is greater and greater.

I give 5 stars to my teacher, Larry Rosenberg, of many years. But I gives only 3 stars for how CIMC has changed.Looking at the list of programs, it’s like watching the politics of the day.Groups are segregated by race, gender and gender identity.Very hard to feel that such an approach is beneficial for all meditators connecting regardless of what they look like.

I have learned so much from the teachers here and made deep friendships. I started off as a total meditation newbie and it has always felt like a welcoming environment.

I have been studying and retreating at CIMC for over 20 years. The quality of clear instruction and compassionate responsiveness is outstanding and life changing. A jewel in the heart of Cambridge.

I love this place, and the people that keep it running. I look forward to the center's reopening when it is safe to do so. More than just a quiet place to meditate and receive instruction, CIMC has been, for me, an opportunity to be around people who model what it is to try to live life with skillful introspection and with kindness, both to others and themselves.

A precious and authentic urban meditation center in the vipassana/insight meditation tradition. One-time sessions, recurring workshops, and meditation retreats for the full spectrum of practitioners, from beginners to longtime meditators. Especially valuable are the Wednesday evening dhamma talks, which feature a diverse set of recognized community leaders and monastics from varying traditions. A rare and precious gem of a resource for contemplative development.

This place has a history of wounding and damaging people and tossing them out without a grievance system in place. It is an ego driven and rigid environment where the hierarchy between teachers and students is very obvious. They are a soft power cult from what I’ve learned. They don’t care about the individual in my experience and from what I’ve heard from others. Their one size fits all mentality is ridiculous for this century. Look up Lorin Roche and Camille Maurine Roche. They know how to encourage freedom and exploration within each unique person. We are not all the same! These people will trample all over your inner world if you let them. They do not have good boundaries.
