I am very sad and disappointed. I have been a customer of Cambridge Veterinary Care since 2015. Today I had the worst experience ever since I had a cat. The receptionist, Jessica, not only screamed at me on the phone when I was asking a simple question about my rescue kitty's medical records, but she refused to answer my inquiry and then hung up on me. She refused to connect me with the vet, screamed at me, and ended the call without helping me. I am so frustrated and sad to have been treated in this very rude and hurtful manner after being a loyal customer for over 8 years. Shame on you Cambridge Veterinary Care. I really miss the old management.

Nurse very friendly although the vet wasn’t friendly at all didn’t have any concerns on why I brought my cat for a visit ignored the questions I had, took my cat into the room without me. Kept calling my cat a male which she’s not. Didn’t bother coming back out to talk to me nurse came out just to collect my money.

The doctors and doctors assistants are wonderful here. The doctor was super sweet and she and Gisella never pressured my shy dog Honey to do anything she didn’t want to do! They treated her with such gentleness and kindness, and were so patient. This is the place any dog parent wants to take their animal! Of course, it doesn’t smell the best and it’s not a luxury place by any means, but that’s to be expected from a vet clinic. The prices are very fair, the treatment is transparent and quality, and I was blown away by the level of care from the doctor (wish I could remember her name) and the assistant. I will be a lifelong client!

Great experience. My newly adopted Pet needed to be seen soon as he was on a Prescription Diet. They were wonderful; helped me by calling the place I'd ordered his food from saying it was approved by his new Veterinarian.

We had so many negative experiences with vets who did not know how to handle our dog who is just a bit anxious at the vet. The team at Cambridge Veterinary Care is very knowledgeable in terms of behavior, and our dog has always received excellent care and treatment.

I’m a new dog owner and had a lot of questions about caring for my dog; at Cambridge care they were able to give me guidance about caring for my dog. The staff has been very kind, caring, and patient. I like the fact the vets are straight forward. They will work with you to help your dog to be at their very best. If you’re looking for a good vet care then this is the place I would recommend.

They saved our dog’s life twice and gave us another year and a half with her though their care. They were the only people who could cut her nails and survive. Dr. Weiner is an expert in dental health if that is important to you. He is a funny guy, and cares a lot more than you would know by meeting him. He will do a great job and the staff are all wonderful.

Dr. Weiner is dry, rude, and afraid of dogs. You can tell who is an aminal lover and who is not. For him, this is a business to make money, and he has to make a living--and it shows - the place is insensitive. Their mercantilistic mentality also translates into getting tons of junk mail pushing meds and similar products.

Great place. Very nice people. Quick visits and very detailed on how your pet is doing and what if anything is needed. They answer all your questions politely and you don’t feel rushed. Would recommend 100%.

Dr Weiner has been taking care of my cat for 16 years and I've been so pleased with the care received. He gives very clear, concise, straightforward advice and always reports back with lab results within 1-2 days explaining what the values mean, which I really appreciate. He and/or his staff are very responsive on email when I have in-between visit questions. Front desk staff are always warm and friendly, as is the office cat. :)

I was admittedly skeptical on this clinic based on the spotty historical reviews. It seems the poor past experiences stemmed from one particular vet, but my experience with the receptionist, Justin (the tech), and Dr. Peabody was hands down the best vet experience I’ve had in the Somerville/Cambridge/Medford area. Justin was very patient over email in answering all my questions, specifically generating a pre-invoice so I knew exactly what services I was getting and how much they cost. Dr. Peabody was similarly patient and willing to spend as much or as little time discussing our pup as needed. And the clinic gave our little guy a goodie bag when we were headed out! While I can’t speak for the past experiences with a particular vet at this clinic, if you ask for Justin and Dr. Peabody I’m confident you won’t be disappointed!

the staff, and Dr are very nice here. I could not continue my care for my kitten because the costs exceed my budget for what my insurance does not cover. However, they are prompt and they are good at what they do.

The owner of this practice is Dr. Weiner, but my family and I call him Dr. Grifter. I took my cat to this practice because I had recently moved to Cambridge, MA and this practice was near my apartment. I had recently taken her to my previous vet in a suburb of Boston, and they had said that she needed one tooth removed, which would cost $700. I then took her to Dr. Weiner, and his diagnosis was that she needed to have ALL of her teeth removed. He charged me $700 for that visit (what the hell?!) and then quoted me $2500 to remove all of her teeth. Dr. Weiner seemed confident and informed, so I left that visit feeling sad that my cat needed all of her teeth removed but supportive of that plan. Once I got home, however, I read some yelp reviews of this practice, and I discovered several reviews describing similar experiences ("took my cat in for a check-up and Dr. Weiner said all of their teeth needed to come out"). I grew skeptical and decided to return to my original vet, despite the now longer commute. I brought my cat back to my original vet, and their vet dentist supported their other colleague's original diagnosis: my cat needed one tooth removed. They removed that tooth, and charged me $700. It seems like Dr. Weiner has a pretty good business going - if he takes out all of one cat's teeth per month for an entire year ($2500/cat), he makes $30,000! Now you know why we call him Dr. Grifter. I will not be going back to Cambridge Veterinary Care. I do not trust them to put my cat's actual needs before their own profits.

I would give them zero stars if I could... I came here for a visit with my cat in order to, first and foremost, establish my cat as a patient in case there were ever any emergencies. When I'd called in I was assured this was a routine visit and that the cat would receive a check up first and foremost. He did not. I had mentioned that my cat had become withdrawn, hiding from us but not to sleep. He's a very clingy cat, always needing attention and constantly reminding us that he's been left without pets. This was a pretty dramatic change. While my cat is a rehome, according to his previous owners he acted very much the same. Apparently from this information alone the vet was sure my cat has resorption. This is true, we got a second opinion, but the vet was a complete a** about the visit. He told me "there's really no science surrounding it, but you can read this article and google it if you'd like" and then promptly turned to go into the backroom again. There was little to no real interaction and I had to literally leap out of the chair to beg him for advice on what to do in the home to help with prevention. The vet ran blood tests and gave the cat a vaccine he was behind on which ultimately came out to almost $700. Our second opinion ran THE SAME tests. The entire vet appointment was $150 and not only was more done, but the second opinion discovered a heart murmur that this vet blatantly disregarded OR DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE. That's sort of a huge red flag, and a serious health problem. On top of all of this, the vet determined the surgery date without consulting times or availability, shrugged off any other questions I had, called my cat by the wrong name and has been impossible to reach. The staff was fine, the gentleman who took my cat back was very kind and the woman behind the desk, while not talkative, wasn't unpleasant in any way, she was simply doing her job and juggling me, calls and other appointments. The vet, however, had no reason to be such an a***

Worst vet experience ever. The nurses were all nice, but the vet is a disaster. He was super rude and tried to rush us even if we arrived like 10 minutes before the appointment. They did a rabies blood test on our dog and charged us $600, and in other clinics they only charged $250. Oh also charged $80 on examination fee but didn’t communicate with us at all, but send the nurse out to collect our credit card. If you love you furry friends, don’t even bother bringing them here.
