I can't thank Formaggio Kitchen enough! I was looking for a French picnic experience as a gift to send to friends when I found Formaggio Kitchen online. I settled on the gift products and crossed my fingers. This gift was described by our friends as "exceptional in every way". That was the reaction I was hoping for! I highly recommend Formaggio Kitchen!!!

Outstanding selection of the finest cheeses, meats, and gourmet offerings. There is a collection of cutlery options for cheese, or, picnic use. This is a world class food store.

Wonderful and pricey groceries, excellent coffee, and lots of house made foods, especially breads and pastries. Not great if you are avoiding gluten or on a budget, but otherwise grand.

I went in looking for a 2 to 3 pound wedge of 2-year Parmesan for a cheese display. Was told I had to choose from the smaller pre-cut slices on display. They had the cheese I wanted, but they absolutely refused to cut me a piece from the wheel. The counter person claimed the wheel was too cold and would crumble. First time in 20 years I have heard that excuse. Ordinarily, when I shop here I spend more than 30 minutes and $250 on cheese, salami, etc. Today, I walked out in 5 minutes with what Parmesan I absolutely needed and no other cheese. What happened to this place and its customer service? Inexcusable.

It's so expensive here that I only tend to go when I have a gift card. The BBQ on Sundays in the summer is terrific. The bread is certainly better than what you'd typically find at a larger grocery store. On the whole though, I'm not sure the quality is high enough to justify the prices. For example, their premade sandwiches are neither tasty nor filling. Many of the staff are friendly and willing to help. Ocasionally you will encounter someone with a bit of an attitude though.

Great selection of cheeses, meat, and other speciality items. The service is outstanding here and the staff is super knowledgeable and helpful, definitely worth a visit if you're buliding a charcuterie board

Products are insanely curated (in a good way!), the prices goes with that. Nice to look at ;) the cheese selection is actually more “affordable “ and impressively extensive.

The name "Formaggio Kitchen" sounds like a specialty cheese store, and indeed there's a huge selection here. But it's so much more than just cheese. Think charcuterie, fresh bread and pastries, ready-made entrees, pasta, wine, condiments, even fresh produce and fresh flowers. A veritable gourmet grocery store. Of course, I couldn't resist the display cases full of carbolicious baked goods, so I grabbed several to eat right away (or, at least, in the privacy of my car so I could feign modesty). A custard crumb cake was as chewy and heavenly as it looked and sounded, while a florentine and a piece of baklava punched far beyond their weight. When combined with an americano, it all made for a very, very filling brunch. They even offer dinner apps and entrees that you can purchase by the pint or pound, and there's even a weekend barbeque offering. So much goodness going on in such a compact space. Well worth checking out. Many thanks to the foodie friends who recommended Formaggio Kitchen to me!

Heaven on earth. A true foodies paradise. We visited this spot today to pick up a couple goodies we can’t find in Canada. My head almost exploded with the selection of high quality ingredients. I ended up with a lot more than I came in for. My husband and I were thoroughly impressed. This will definitely be a go to stop every time I come to Boston. 10 stars

Go here for the cheese, stay for everything else. Try their own chocolate orange cake - it’s wonderful.

First time to the big Huron shop. Normally, I frequent the South End location. This place has a bit of everything it seems. Bakery, meats, fish, prepared foods, and of course, cheese! The cheese selection is bar none. Can't be beat , at least in Boston anyway. As others have noted, sundries are over priced. The selection of crackers is a little high brow imo. No inexpensive normal crackers. I got 2 cheeses, a diet root beer and a small box of crackers and it cost me $41 after tax. Foolishly, I did not get the receipt. The cheese were only $24 total, so how did I make up the difference? Root beer was $3 and the crackers were $7. Did she charge me for an ice pack? If so, how much? Shawmut Ave doesn't charge for ice. Maybe she made an error and I didn't catch it until later. Anyway, disappointing first experience. But, I'll go back and be sure to check the receipt before I leave.

When visiting my daughter in Cambridge, we always stop at Formaggio. Just the cheese, meats and bread are worth the trip.

I bought a Babette Table Spicy Sopressata on July 1st 2023 that had an expiration of 07/07/2023. I had two bites of the Sopressata on the evening of July 1st and got violently sick to my stomach for about 9 hours. The meat tasted strongly of ammonia. I brought the remains back to Formaggio and spoke with two managers about it. Of course they were sorry and refunded my money, but I didn't get the impression that they cared much or that they had any controls in place to prevent it from happening to someone else. I would have excused it as a "one-off", but I got a bad case of food poisoning and when I purchased the item among others, another person shopping nearby spoke up to the workers behind the cheese counter and exclaimed that a bunch of yogurts in the dairy section had expired "Sell By Dates". I have lived in the vicinity of Formaggio Kitchen for over 40 years and it has always had exceptional foods. I was told by an employee that the group of Formaggio stores was purchased by a new owner as of the 1st of 2023. I will not shop there anymore as there are many alternatives in the area that I have frequented over the years with no issues, Whole Foods, Pemberton Farms and Wilson's Farms among others. Sincerely, Disappointed shopper

No bathroom for patrons. Cheese gal said for employees only I said can I get a job? She said " not in the next ten minutes " With an attitude and turned away.
