Rented out an office space at Geek Offices and it was wonderful! The common spaces, including kitchen, are great and people there are awesome! Would definitely rent a space again.

I rented a large office (actually huge...it could easily fit six people) at Geek Offices for the last six months. The landlord Michael, mentions that the offices are low key, and they are. It's all cubicles and private offices. There is a nice kitchen with coffee and two fridges. The internet comes from a fiber connection and is 50 Mbit down (fast enough) and 50 Mbit up (much faster than you usually see.) And for those of you who care about latency, the ping is only 2 ms which is super fast. Geek Offices is a bit of a time machine. It's like the old days before super pretty shared offices with tiny tables and tiny boxes of an office. No. Here you get big private cubes with plenty of space. Nice offices with plenty of room. And yeah, you're renting from the guy who owns the building. He's very responsive and flexible. It's his building and he's happy when it serves people's needs. The offices are on the lower level. Some of the offices have high windows, but overall this is not a place with lots of natural light. The cubes and furniture aren't new, but they're in good shape and they get the job done. There are showers and bathrooms right across the hall. You get 24-hour access with a key card, and privates offices lock. And more time machine...there is parking. A lot of parking. It isn't cheap, but hey, where can you get parking just two blocks from Inman Square? There's even visitor parking. Whoever has that? Now if anyone would actually visit you in person, they could go right ahead and park for free. Really, this is a place to work. Get stuff done. Heads down. Just you or a small team. Then get lunch in Inman Square. Sometimes going back to the future works just fine. Oh, one more thing. The rental terms are incredibly flexible. You pay for the month. You can leave with as low as one day's notice. For example, you decide on December 30th that you need to leave. You give notice on the 31st. You can leave the next day. You don't owe anything. I had to have it explained to me twice because I couldn't actually believe it.

My business recently moved into Geek Offices. We love it! It's quiet, comfortable and the staff are attentive. The Internet is fast (we are a tech company so that helps) and we were able to easily get a static IP for ourselves. They are super transparent about their pricing, and quite competitive I might add. True, they don't have flashy glass walls or beer day (or whatever) like WorkBar and some others, but who cares? I'm here to work. Highly recommended.

We stayed at Geek Offices after we suddenly found our four-person company homeless. Michael and Phil were incredibly helpful, the terms were wonderful, and we found a like-minded community of hardworking but friendly people in a great office environment. We looked at a number of coworking spaces throughout the Boston and Cambridge area, and this was an unbeatable value. Our top concerns were security, location, and fast internet, and all of those were more than addressed. Plus, just a few minutes walk down to Lone Star Taco Bar. Couldn't ask for more.

If you want a low cost and low key office space, with a very reasonable and nice landlord, you can't ask for more than Geek. There isn't a big culture of partying, and there's no free food or bean bag chairs... ...but you don't want to pay the price premium for these add-ons. You're building a company, and you're busy, and you need the flexibility to expand or contract quickly. And btw Inman Sq. is an awesome part of town with great food (e.g., Clover and All Star), and it's about 5 minutes by bike (15 minutes walking) from the Red Line at Central Sq. It's also centrally located between Harvard, Union, Kendall and even Porter. Check it out!

I've been using Geek Offices for office space for my internet startup for over a year now. We have 3 full-time employees, and sometimes we bring in interns. Geek Offices is great for us -- it's very flexible, because you pay by the employee by the month. If your headcount is unpredictable and cash is tight, it's the perfect choice. It's also great if you just need a quite place to work for a day or two, and you can rent meeting rooms here too. The offices are well-maintained and the landlord is very responsive to any issues that arise. There's also a nice collaborative atmosphere working with other startups and small organizations, and I've met a lot of great people here!
