I consider it one of the best bookstores in the region. It's worth visiting and before going down, stop at the cafe on the ground floor for a nice cappuccino.

Great bookstore. We visited after going to the MIT museum. Nice variety of books and a section of books authored by MIT professors. There is a large section of books published by MIT Press called "Essential Knowledge Series" on a wide variety of important topics. Cozy kids section with lots of books.

The MIT Press Bookstore, founded in 1980, is one of the only retail bookstores owned and operated by a university press. Located near campus, we are the bookselling arm of the MIT Press, the nonprofit publishing program of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
We stock most of the books and journals published by the MIT Press as well as a curated selection of other publishers’ books in related fields, including art and architecture, computer science, cognition, neuroscience, and linguistics. We also have a Children's section stocked with non-fiction and STEM based learning titles.
