Used Nick's for my studio apartment move in August 2023. The movers were nice and worked quickly. I few of my items unfortunately were damaged during the move but Nick was kind enough to follow up after the move and gave me a price adjustment. It's evident that Nick cares about his customers having a good moving experience.

I had a poor experience with this moving company and would not recommend. It started when I was told I would be charged for the minimum of 3 hours and pay for any extra time the day of. 4 days later I had an additional charge and when I asked I was told “we always charge for the estimate of the move” from the same guy. I let it be.I was told they would arrive at 11am on a Saturday. I called multiple times and kept being told I was the next move “and the guys got a late start.” They didn’t show up until 6pm.. 7 hours late. Nick kept telling me he’d call me when they were on the way. No call.I was told I would have 3 movers and only had two. They moved my stuff quickly — so quickly and carelessly they broke my $500 tv stand which I was only refunded $60 for.After calling and emailing multiple times I was able to get a refund which basically was what I was owed anyway since I paid for an extra 3 hours upfront. It took over 3 weeks to get the refund even though I kept being told “end of the week.”Overall a very poor experience and would not recommend even if their quote seems a bit lower than competitors. Next time I know to pay a bit more for a more professional company.

Their moving efficiency is highly recommended. Especially for bigger piece furniture. They have the tool and the method to make things work.

These folks responded immediately to my request for a move, with very short notice, and then did the move at a reasonable price, flawlessly. HIGHLY recommend.

I called Nick at 5:30pm on a Friday to move the next day at 10am, which happened to be the coldest day in Boston in around 60 years. Nick and his crew arrived around 10 the next day and did a great job

I used Nick’s moving company to move and store my apartment contents last spring. Nick and his team provided a quick estimate for their services and the price was significantly less than his competitors. They showed up on the day of the move and packed and loaded my apartment in just a few hours. They handled everything with care and stored them at his storage facility. The facility was convenient and I could access my items with a call. I would recommend Nicks moving. Great overall experience!

Since 1999, My family and I have had the privilege of working with Nick's Moving Company for several moves. Every time they have been professional, courteous, efficient, and great to work with! This past weekend they helped our college student daughter move into her first apartment out-of-state. Fantastic experience all-around and Tyler & Trevor made the entire process stress-free! Nick's team is the best!

My fiancé and I had a terrible moving experience on August 29, 2020. I thought I'd check recent reviews to see if the company had improved at all, but found that many reviews echoed our experience (slow or no responses from management, severely delayed start times, and multiple unexpected charges).Our move started nearly 6 hours late with one fewer movers than we were quoted. We were then told that the front steps of the building constituted another flight of stairs, and we'd normally be charged for that but because they started so late, would not add the fee. We were then told that our one bedroom, third-floor apartment had a "staggering" number of boxes, despite having declared the floor and number of rooms in the estimate and having already taken more fragile items to the new apartment ourselves. Because the move started so late (at 7:30pm), the crew took a break for dinner but then at 10:30pm determined it was not feasible to complete the move until the following morning with a different crew (luckily we had family to stay because the crew had already packed the bed in the truck, not sure what the company's plan was if we didn't have that option). The bill of lading noted a lesser deposit than we had actually made, which would have led us to being overcharged if I didn't catch it before signing. We also noticed the deposit was charged first when we accepted the quote (nearly a month before the move) and secondly when the move started. The payment system was blamed for the duplicated charge, but the receipt indicated that it was entered twice by the moving company. I luckily was refunded the amount when I disputed the second charge through my credit card company. Overall, the total cost of the move was 70% more than the quoted amount. Lesson learned to not go with the cheapest when it comes to moving.The crew was friendly and apologized profusely about the poor management that led to this unfortunate situation, which is about the only positive thing I can say about our experience.

Nick’s moving company was fantastic, fast, and kind. They got a huge sofa through a second floor window in minutes. They were polite and funny and I really appreciate their clear billing and quick response time!

If I could give Nick's Moving Company 0 stars, I would. My experience with them was a complete nightmare. I was told that the movers would arrive at noon on September 1. Hours went by, with no update from Nick's. I would call every few hours for an update, and I was told that the movers were "on their way". The movers did not actually show up until 1AM on September 2nd!! Not only did I have to go through moving my belongings at 1AM (which is completely unprofessional), they did not even show up on the correct date, as they technically arrived on September 2. No apology was given, and I was not offered any sort of price discount.Things got much worse -- the movers lost a key piece of my bed, so they weren't able to put my bed together that night at 1AM. I was told they would arrive the next morning to fix my bed for me, which was already incredibly frustrating. They didn't actually arrive until 11PM the next night. I would call over and over again, and the owner would say that the movers were on their way, when they clearly were not. Again, no apology and no price discount. Nick actually double charged us, and never issued us a refund for the double charge, despite us calling multiple times.My biggest regret was not taking the numerous negative reviews of this company into account. My experience with them was an unprofessional nightmare.

Pros:- Incredibly friendly movers.- Very easy to book.Cons:- Movers were supposed to arrive between 10 and 11AM. At 11:20, I called and was told 15-20 minutes. At 12:20, I called and was told "momentarily". Around 1:15, the movers actually showed up and asked if I had just booked the move today as they just found out about it. I booked two weeks early. I assume that the original crew couldn't make it, but none of this was communicated and no apology was given. This set the rest of our day into a rush as we expected to be done earlier.- Poorly packed truck according to our end destination movers.- One page contract that was barely legible.

Book a move and put another on calendar, they took two deposits of $600 for each one, first move was fine, we no longer needed the 2nd move and called a month ahead to cancel and get refund, 3 weeks later still waiting on the refund of 600 dollars. **** insists the processor has taken it but nothing has been returned to us, we are still waiting. Not a good experience.

They were late to my move in, so instead they skipped my AM slot and went to the next person so they wouldn't be late the rest of the day. DO NOT, at all costs, use this service.

I had to leave my one bedroom apartment at the end of August, during probably the busiest season of the year here in Cambridge. Nick’s Moving Company took care of my move and storage very professionally. Nick is very responsive and helpful, and his staff really know what they are doing when handling all sorts of objects, including fragile and very heavy ones! I fully recommend their service.
