October 2024 by Siphokazi Mangcu
I have been a happy resident of Parkside Place for the past 7 years. From October 2017, wowed by Peter’s warm welcome and everyone in the management office, with Jill Hanna as then manager, we knew we had found a home away from home. Great amenities, wonderful kind people, best Xmas parties and toddler room- my kids grew up here (my boy passing away in an accident in 2022 at 4 years old, my girl is now 16). After our family tragedy I refused to move because of how close to my heart the community and this place was. It was the connection to my son. Everyone knew and adored him and they supported and held me with love. I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. We lived in 20th floor 2 bed until 2021, moved to 19th floor a 3 bed until now June 2024 at 18th floor because I needed a 2bed again for financial reasons. I have never had any problems here, until now. ? David Kryouz, the property manager. Yes he can be very helpful when he needs you to renew your lease, he will go out of his way to make it happen for you as long as you will sign or there are no serious issues you to deal with or you don’t call him out and question and demand answers. I have been without wifi/cable and using only my data for the past 3 months. I still don’t get how they gave me this unit when it has so many thing wrong. Was it because it was me? ?: all my neighbors and concierge guys commented on how this apartment had been vacant for years. Why has no one lived there for so long? ?: the day of the move, the unit had a leak under the vent in the dining room, the fridge had a leaky dark sticky residue, the bathroom door was peeling off and the sink was filthy, dirty tampons, panty liners, toys, trash you could see just by looking inside the vent and cleaning inside that old vent which was also loose and broken David downplayed all of this as being dramatic. Despite my emails I have sent, bias response is I need to report and they will come fix. These are not light bulb or blinds little things to be fixed (which also need fixing as well the day I moved in). I never had these problems in my previous units with the number of years I lived in them. Some of these were fixed as recently as today and it’s been on me to remind them. As if they are doing me a favor. The floor tiles when you walk inside my unit are gonna crack anytime, I had Penny come up to see. Thankful for the maintenance team who are so amazing and quick to help. One of them Phong even loaned me his WiFi modem set it up for me to try, it didn’t work. I NEED THE INTERNET. It is my main source of getting any income. Comcast who has been my provider in all these years here, has want 3 skilled people and their top guy told David in person - there is no signal coming to this unit. They cannot do anything. I have to move or not have internet. I tried Verizon as mocked by David not bothered by my situation, they said the same thing as Comcast. Penny has since told me she is waiting for me to get Comcast to come again because she has one of the maintenance guys back from leave and he can surely help to get me sorted. It’s unbelievable! Instead of getting an electrician at the very least, as she told me before she had suggested to David. At this point I am exhausted. I last spoke to him the day I walked into his office very emotional and asked him about the state of the unit I’m in. I’m sure he was in a bad mood as always. He didn’t care, never once acknowledged or take any accountability for my concerns, instead telling me: Well, things wear off and break. Why didn’t you notice those things when you viewed the unit and signed a lease?” Why are you only complaining after over 2 months. “I don’t think this is the place for you, I think you should consider finding yourself another place to live at this point.” “This is NOT a hotel, I’ll gladly release you early from your lease, let me know.” I left his office in tears. And for the first time- I knew things are not the same, this is not the Parkside Place I loved.. love the concierge team, probably the only best thing left around here.?

Lived here for 6 years (2016 - 2022). Best apartment complex in this area. Price/quality was unbeatable at that time!

We have lived at Parkside Place for the past three years and have had an excellent experience!
Key qualities that we have always been satisfied with include:
- The management and staff (David, Penny, and others) are so caring and responsive to our legitimate requests.
- The neighborhood and amenities are accessible.
- The maintenance team is VERY PROMPT in their responses!!!
- The community is so family-friendly, and our baby boy is always greeted with warmth by both the staff and residents.
- The concierge staff (Peter, Haile, Joe) are outstanding, providing attentive, respectful, and excellent service.
I would suggest that rent increases be made a bit more predictable.
Overall, I had a wonderful time living here.
Thank you!

I lived here from January 2020 to November 2022 so I lived here for two years. My experience with the apartment complex was generally good overall in fact it was very good. I lived on the first floor which was very quiet aside from the fire door. I didn't have really have any major complaints and that says something about a building the size of a cruise ship. It was clean, quiet, respectful and diverse. Unfortunately I had to leave because of the construction but if it wasn't for the construction I probably would have been here still in 2024. Out of all the places in Cambridge at any person can live low income or not I would recommend this place hands down. With parks around, the bike path and two major bus lines down the road from the house this is the best place to live in Cambridge.

Worst service for residents, manager does not take residents complaints seriously, elevators never work, they take forever to do remodels without respecting the stipulated deadline or consequences for residents, do not move here

Overly priced building with respect to the services provided to the tenants. Since last one year we have faced so many issues and a huge hike in the rent irrespective of the issues. Naming a few: laundry room shut down for 3 straight months, two out of three elevators are always down, water pipe burst and leakage very frequently, letting people smoke in the corridors of building, the deck offering cheaper parking options being closed for unlimited time and forcing tenants to park on the expensive floor, ants in the kitchen, hot water shut down almost once every month and many more.

Parkside Place is a wonderful place to live! We just moved here recently and have had a great experience here! The apartment is new, modern, and up to date, the building has so many cool things to offer, and all the staff are beyond welcoming and friendly! Extra special shoutouts to Penny, Londa, Liz, David, and Hiley!

Not pet friendly! Not event human friendly! elevator is always broken. Get ready to march down 20 floors on stairs,We have been lured in here by the promise of being pet friendly, yet we receive weekly mails from the lawyer of this manager for leaving dog hair in the hallway. Guess what? dogs shed! now they are terminating our contract because the dog peed in the elevator! This manager is a joke. He can spend all money to renovate the club room to lure in new tenants, but is unable to fix the elevator that is always always broken. Just talk to a single tenant before moving in. That is all you need to do to figure out why this place is terrible! this manager is terrible!

After living in this building for years, we have experienced several major issues. However, the staff has always been friendly and helpful until the recent arrival of the manager, David K. Unfortunately, he has been unresponsive and disrespectful to residents' complaints. The building's elevator has been a persistent issue, with two out of three elevators being out of service for almost half of each week. Additionally, noise from neighbors is a significant problem, and the management's response, particularly David's, is inadequate, with a claim that the building is not soundproof and tenants have the right to make noise. If you enjoy constant drumming or other loud activities, you may find the place suitable, but I strongly advise against living here.

It has been a challenging year at Parkside Place. Our rent was raised by $500 earlier this year, and soon after that we received a notice that the building will be going through some renovations. It has been a couple months since these renovations have begun, and some or other thing in the building is adversely affected (e.g. heating doesn't work properly, the internet connection is poor, out of the three elevators they have, one is always down, the laundry room will be closing soon, issues with hot water, and the list continues). We have an infant and it has been extremely difficult to live in this building.

We moved here in 2020... and had a great experience living here during that year. The management has changed since last year (lots of changes) and we have seen almost every thing that makes us want to move out asap: - this year the rent was increased by $500! and guess what? since then the elevators have been a pain (one out of the three is always broken down), the heating system had an issue, the internet never works properly, and now the building management is going for a big renovation which means there won't be any access to the laundry room for 10 weeks (they had alternative options to support this but doesn't work when you have a small baby!). Today there was a leak and there has been a water shutdown for almost 12 hours! I recommend no one should move in to this building. To the management company: Please DO NOT BOTHER RESPONDING TO THIS MESSAGE!

Parkside Place has been a great place to live. Friendly/Attentive Staff, two well supplied gym rooms, clean common areas, and a spacious clubhouse; are just a few of the benefits to residing in Parkside Place.
