I had to run in on to get some quick work on my skis and had the best experience! Jason and Carly were really attentive to what I needed and helped me with my questions!! Loved the staff for making it such a great experience, best REI!!

Jason was great. He solved my problem. He understands customer service. I called the store first, he took the call and then met me when I came in. He eventually helped me find what I was looking for.

Horrible experience. I was trying some shoes off the shelves and one of the employees told me not to try it. He didn't even bother to ask me what size I was looking for and just walked away! Do not come to this shop!

Carly was so great and knowledgeable on the shoes I was looking for. I really appreciated the time she took with me. A plus is she’s really funny too. Will be purchasing shoes here going forward just to work with her!

purchased the renegade recon tapered nocturnal blue, true to size, very comfortable fit, full range in mobility, although not designed for inline skating, wanted to put it thru motions, in boston partly cloudy 67 degrees, skated for a little more than an hour, too warm to use at 67, doing left and right cross-overs felt like i was wearing shorts, so mobility is awesome, phone in one pocket and bluetooth speaker in the other one, didn't cause any hindrance at all, deep pockets nothing fell out, liked this so much bought one in raven

After purchasing quite a few things at the Fenway REI last week, I got home and realized I was charged twice for one item. The Cambridge store, which is closer to my home, was nice enough to issue the refund rather than send me back to the other store! I appreciate the great customer service!

This store is completely useless for actual outdoors people or anyone who doesn't own a $6000 bicycle. They have close to nothing in terms of usable camping gear and refuse to work on bikes they don't sell themselves. If you like hipstery fashion, go here. I will not.

This REI should be avoided at all costs. As others have said, their inventory is piss poor unless your looking for basic apparel. You'll have to buy things at Fenway or online to get what you're looking for.
But more importantly: if you try to ship those items to this location and don't pick it up immediately, they will "disappear". I got a notification that my items were picked up when I'm across town - the store was sketchy about it no longer being there and support couldn't answer any questions about how/why they gave away something I paid for.
TL:DR - terrible selection, the staff will steal you online orders you if they get the chance to, and REI doesn't seems just fine with that.

A wonderful REI. Everyone is super helpful and knowledgeable. The only issue is that there's only one fitting room and the wait can get long.

Really limited selection of items - basically clothing and waterbottles. Even things that I wouldn't consider niche, like fuel for a camping stove aren't carried here. The neighborhood store is fairly impractical for REI as we know it.

I was aware of this REI’s limited inventory so I’ve gone in with lower expectations.
If you’re looking for a large selection of an item or a highly specialized item, this is not the place to go. If you’re looking to pick a common item up (ie: a bike lock), the inventory is likely sufficient.
I’ve been a few times and have found the staff knowledgeable and happy to help (shoutout Jonathan from the bike department for going above and beyond). The store is orderly and in good condition — I plan to return as needed.

If you have ever been to a real REI, you will be very disappointed with this location. This store is tiny and really doesn't have the items you would expect from a REI. Pretty much only a clothing store and bikes. Traffic getting there is abysmal and there is barley any parking. I really do love REI, but this location is not it.
