REI Rocks! The best customer service you'll find in any store anywhere. And the products are all of the highest quality. There's always gems to find in the re/supply and clearance. And the company ethos is something to get behind.

It is a smaller store than it seems on the outside and there isn’t a great selection. As an example, I picked up a new bike there. The folks at the bike shop are very helpful and will install any accessories you want to buy. But they had barely anything. We’d been hoping to get a basket and maybe bud guards but they didn’t have much beyond a bell and water bottle holder available.

Friendly and good service. However, as I was informed, it it literally the smallest REI in the world and hence did not have even the basic things I was looking for. They mostly have clothes, not camping gear.

It didn’t occur to me to read reviews for an REI before going but I wish I had. This store is not a full REI; it has very little in-store stock, mostly focusing on urban wear. I was looking for sandals (Chaco’s, Tevas, etc.) and they didn’t carry a single style or brand… a smattering of hiking boots and running shoes only. WOMP WOMP. Time to drive to the other REI near Fenway.

Nick at the bike store was just SO helpful… Poor guy had to diagnose my phantom problem when turns out all it is is I just don’t know how to ride a bike (it’s been a minute), and so he taught me how to switch gears, all when the store was supposed to be shut too. Oh and my REI coop bike is still going strong after a year! (It’s surviving me at least.)

Not sure what's up with this location but my last 3 visits to this store have not been great. I realize people will say this to say this, but I truly buy a lot from REI. The first visit an employee initially refused my return of a defective pair of sandals (3mo old, minimal wear, sole delamination) until I asked for a manager to stop by. The second visit the employee at the register left while ringing me up and walked away to go chat with another employee (something about catching a recent sports game), leaving me wondering if the transaction was all set. The most recent visit, I brought in my Flash 18 bag which was less than 12mo old and had a broken strap. An employee greeted me at the door and when I mentioned the bag was broken they said that I had probably "overstuffed it" without even looking at the issue. I then told them that this was my 3rd iteration of the Flash 18 over 7+ years, and my daily EDC weight had decreased (I no longer carry a work laptop on me). After trying to explain that, she told me they don't have bags at this location anyways so she didn't know what I was looking for and then walked away. Wild. I got in line anyways and was able to do a return, per policy.

Super friendly staff and the bike experts at the shop were incredibly knowledgeable! I just got a new bike here and was given a personal bike fitting, discounts on new accessories and the experts gave very helpful tips for a bike adventure I am planning. Overall, I would very much recommend their bike services but the store was definitely on the smaller side compared to other REI’s I’ve been to.

REI is always amazing and for the relatively small size of this store you can find most of what you need here. My favorite is the expert non-biased help always available. Being right next to Time Out Boston market doesn't hurt either. We were shopping for my Son's Scout trip and everyone there was so nice and encouraging to him. Will keep coming back for sure. Pro-Trip: plan you shopping trip when the Sox aren't playing.

Lots of people complaining about the small selection at this store… it is better than not having a store in the area at all! You can very easily check online for what this location has, or call ahead of time and ask the store associates (I have done this many times). I always have a pleasant experience here and Eve was super great at helping me find hiking boots soles & other hiking gear. Only thing to be wary of is the lack of a parking lot, but you can typically find one on the street out front.

This REI offers a well curated selection of clothing, as well as running, biking, and climbing accessories. If you go in with the expectation of a traditional REI with lots of camping supplies, you may be disappointed. From a clothing perspective, I find it much more palatable. It is also conveniently located next to the Lechmere stop on the Green Line and easily accessible from the new bike path. If you need to get there by car, there is free 2hr street parking available.

The bike shop here is amazing! Their staff is super knowledgable and friendly, they're always willing to answer questions. Turnaround has been quick as well. Can't recommend them enough!

Rei really needs to make it clear that this is a concept store geared specifically toward urban biking and running and that is IT. Very little to no camping and hiking gear. Two stars are for the employees who are super nice and helpful, I hope they get the union and raises they deserve!

Never ever buy here. I brought a shoe for $170. Used it for threee hikes and it broke. I went back to return or get some credit. The manager there was so rude that I left my shoes at the store and left. It happened just now .. like 10 mins ago. I brought merchandise from REI for well over $6k over the years and this is the worst experience I ever had

DO NOT GET YOUR SKIS TUNED HERE. Did a horrible job and left deep gashes after hand scraping them. Take your business elsewhere. When I came back to report it I was told that I was essentially making it up and that the other shop that checked them out was just trying to sell us a new pair of skis. We were given 100 gift card at REI… small consolation when they’ve ruined a 1200 pair of skis. I’ve never been treated so poorly by retail staff.

I went to get Hoka walking/running shoes here and had a WONDERFUL experience getting assisted by Gio and Cecelia with the shoes, and then Morgan at checkout. They pulled a ton of pairs of shoes and helped me gage the fit and really made sure I went home with the perfect fitting shoe.I liked the free 2 hr parking around the store (there was plenty when I went 5pm on a Monday).Reminder: this is not the typical "all sports/activities" REI. This location has a bike repair shop, tons of clothing, good shoe display with focus on running shoes, and a wall of climbing gear. Not a lot of camping stuff here! Go to the Landmark Center REI near Fenway for that.
