I started shopping here in '88. Those were my Vintage days. Then grunge and finally goth. They had EVERYTHING.I was so young / 19 - 20. I usually went to Oona's during my vintage days. It was costly as a teen though. Garment District was one of the only places I would shop 'cause they always had the correct clothing for my alternative -- grunge--goth days as well as appropriate items for work. That was so many decades ago. I miss it. It's huge & they had anything I wanted. iNo need to go to NYC!

i remember the first time i came here i was a preteen in the late 90’s-early 2000’s and it has not changed much! average ish prices for vintage clothes upstairs (meaning not insanely cheap but also not completely over priced and pretentious) boston costume (to right on first floor) which is actually a unique costume shop (not like spirit or party city at all) and $1/pound on the first floor in the back which you can’t beat if you are on a budget like me. great place to go if you need *new to you* clothes or just love the search for the next perfect garment! i’ve found some amazing things over the years

I really enjoyed my visit to the garment district. A lot of other reviews say that it's overpriced, but I wasn't looking for t shirts and jeans. I went straight for the vintage dresses and beaded attire. I've been to a bunch of vintage and curated store that sell these beaded beauties for ridiculous prices($100+). At the garment district they were almost all $35 and under. I appreciated the many dressing rooms, which many throat store only have like one or two. The kind older gentleman at the cash was a gem. I will definitely be back.

If you are looking for it, you will find it here. Largest variety accompanied by decent quality clothes, shoes & accessories. The price point is fair-great value. Also if you are looking for cowboy boots, come here first. Street parking. There is a section where if you are willing to look through piles of clothes on the floor, you will pay $2 pound!!! There is also a whole separate costume shop.

I was really excited about this store, but it was incredibly disappointing. The person checking out was kind, but an older lady was unfortunately very rude. They do not have as much range in clothing styles as I’d hope and was advertised- if you’re looking for over priced costumes and a store with a strong lack of size diversity (the most I saw was a XL…?) this is for you. Also super super expensive for a thrift store. A singular scarf was 10.50… also the “pay per pound just looked like a goodwill dump fire with mostly old outdated modern clothes and a fever dream of hand foot and mouth disease.Overall super disappointed

Fun place if your into thrift. Really well organized and huge selection. This is the high end vintage - everything is already sorted and high quality. Great place for vintage Halloween costumes. Items are sorted by decade, color and other fashionable categories. Enjoy.

I've been going here since I was a kid. The only thing that's changed is over pricing, "vintage clothes" that aren't actually vintage, they just get the same stuff as knock off stores do. There's only a few vintage items I've ever seen in there. It's also now filled with scalping college students who try to sell stuff in depop. Go to an actual thrift store.

"Cloths by the pound" area isnt as big as it used to be when i first startes going to this place in the late 2000's. The rest of the cloths sold here is a mix of thrift gems and vintage stuff. costume stuff, leather, furry coats, horrible 80's office atire. Its great

Definitely a place to visit if you want vintage or costumes! Cool atmosphere and vast selection upstairs. I love that they actually have dressing rooms open and available for use. Much more organized than everyone having to crowd around a mirror trying on items. And the store itself is very organized - separating things by era, type of clothing, size and color, depending on which rack you're looking at.Pricing is...pricey for a thrift shop. Think H&M pricing, but for used clothes. You're paying a big fraction of the items regular price. And it seems to me they don't vary pricing too greatly, depending on the wear of the clothing or quality of the fabric. Ex: $30 for a pill-y polyester jacket, or $30 for a polyester pair of pants. The by-the-pound section on the 1st floor behind the stairs is literally unorganized chaos. So if you're good with sorting thru a giant pile of clothes on the floor that is being stepped on by everyone it is a good deal - $2 per pound.I bought a wool sweater and silk shirt from upstairs, then I braved the pile and found a few nice things, too. My total was $52. If I want something specifically vintage or costume, I will definitely be back. But if I'm shopping for "regular" clothes, I'm headed to a cheaper thrift where you could just as easily find some good gems. Enjoyed the experience either way.

This store is great for if you are really into thrifting but also effective clothes shopping. Like any thrift store, there are still a lot of weird and silly clothes on the racks, but also a lot of really good articles in a variety of sizes and styles. The upstairs is also really well organized, where individual racks are not only organized by size but also color. Additionally, if you are willing to spend the time sifting through a litteral pile of clothes, by the pound is an amazing deal, at only 2 dollars per pound.

really cool place with lots of interesting finds! i wish i'd had more room in my suitcase for the flight back that i could have gotten something! they had modern stuff, costumes, and a good amount of vintage in varying conditions. they don't have AC, and it was really hot and stuffy when i went (though it was also the hottest temps of the year lol). they also have lots of fitting rooms. i want to go back sometime!

This place is incredible. Two floors of vintage, curated pre-loved pieces arranged by decade? Yes, please. I snapped up a one-of-a-kind beaded tank top, circa 1970's, for a song. A silk wrap sleeveless top from the 80's came home with me along with several other special pieces. Attentive staff, ample dressing rooms and a costume section on the first floor. Can't wait to go back.

I've been going here for two years and always loved it. However, they've recently raised their prices, which are now double to triple what they used to be. Items in the usual $7-$20 range are mostly defective and/or stained. Workwear is $20-$40, which is a lot for used clothing and undermines the purpose of thrift stores. Some used items are more expensive than the price of new ones! I used to find great pieces and prices here, but I think I'll stay away for a bit and suggest others to do so as well.

Expensive but so good! They have an awsome vibe and I could easily spend college fund away! So many options (minus mens sandals but I might have not looked hard enough ?) and it's so big! They have all sorts of clothing and costumes!! I loved all of their stuff and I already want to come back!
