“Not the place to go to find a specific book, but a lovely place to go to look for an interesting book. Many of their books are only for sale by collection; the ones for sale individually are fascinating, beautiful and affordable. When I was there, the front of the space was a photography exhibit which was also not to be missed. The employees are helpful, and it's a great place to relax and poke through books.”

“I met Tom a while back at New England Comics a few doors over from his shop. Great guy, down to earth comic nerd and super framer. I follow xmen pretty hard core. SO I have a pretty extensive collection of books and original pen and ink drawings. Guess where I had them framed? needless to say we geeked out over marvel stuff while framing my stuff. Now I can hang them on the wall to enjoy everyday. Thanks dude!”

“I am a jeweler so I'd like to attest that karenna has high quality material and wares for purchase that is at a FAIR price and even a much LOWER price than you'd find at most stores of its kind. I was struck by her attitude of making beautiful gems and metals available to average people who want something romantic for a wedding or commitment, without ripping people off in the slightest. I would never shop anywhere else for materials or gems and she offers great advice and even the opportunity to work on some of it yourself with her supervision. very special place I traveled from salt lake city to work with her. This kind of establishment is hard to find.”

“My first time at Brickbottom Studios was about 8 years ago. My friend Wally Gilbert has an art studio there. In 1980 he won a Nobel Prize for developing one of the first methods to rapidly sequence DNA. Wally ran a laboratory at Harvard University. Wally also founded 2 companies Biogen and Myriad.Since he has retired from becoming a great Artist. Using a 2 megapixel camera Wally Gilbert started taking Pictures of colorful objects and architectural features that caught his eye throughout Europe. In art and science Wally craves discovering something new. I highly recommend you check out Wally’s fabulous art!!!”

“I had the best experience at Atelier 564. I brought in two pieces and I had no idea what I wanted in regards to the look of the framing or matting or glass. I left the decision up to the owner (such a lovely man) and when I went to pick up my pieces I was nearly in tears-- they looked SO GORGEOUS!!! The attention to detail was above and beyond. The owner has 40 years experience and is an artist himself. I could not be happier with how my frames came out. Absolutely stunning. I will never go to a different framer. The two gentlemen are in a class of their own. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I wish I could give them 10 stars! If what you're having framed is important to you, please go to Atelier. I doubt there is a better framer anywhere. I'm so grateful to have found them”

“Architecture by Le CorbusierThe building here is more meaningful than the exhibition.Born in Switzerland in 1887, he was an important figure in architecture. He is not simply a person who left behind beautiful buildings, but a pioneer in architectural theory who broke the stereotypes of existing buildings and created new techniques for modern architecture. For example, a building is expressed with exposed concrete.A person who influenced Tadao Ando”

“I have been a collector of rare books for 3 decades and have never been in a shop with such fine employees. I brought my 20 yo son who had never been in a similar setting and they immediately attended to him and helped him to feel comfortable and appreciated. While they are not the largest antiquarian bookstore the volumes they own are carefully curated and chosen for people with budgets from $50 to $50,000. I have no other relationship to them except as a customer and get no discount for my opinion (I wish!). Much luck to them. Ask to see the Picasso miniature!! Jim”

“This gallery should be on every collector’s radar! The art is innovative and ever-changing. I recently went to their ‘New Horizons’ NFT exhibition, which was the first ever in Boston. The event was a huge success, there was a DJ and a generous selection of drinks at an open bar. It was very fascinating being able to interact with the artists and their work. I highly recommend checking out the featured NFTs while they’re still displayed.”

“Cute and tucked into a lively and growing part of Hyde Park. Tons of small artists exhibits with most stuff for sale (expensive in some cases but worth it). Was there for a St. Patty's day musical/open mic night and loved the crowd, vibe and the art. Will definitely be going back for more events”

“I recently took the Nerikomi (Marbled Pottery) class with instructor Michelle Barrett and it was fantastic. The space is beautiful: cozy and comfortable. And everyone was super friendly. The instructor was well-informed and the environment was wonderfully supportive for learning something new. I loved the timing of he evening class because it provided me with enough time to finish work, grab dinner, and I didn't get home too terribly late on a school/work night. All around it was a great experience and I'd recommend it highly.”

“Stopped in to take a closer look at some of the art the in the gallery and ended up meeting the owner. I really liked one of the Lupri paintings but wasn't sure if it was the right size/color for one of my walls. The owner offered to walk the painting over and we explored different walls throughout my apartment to hang art. After 30 minutes we found the right spot and the beautiful piece of art now hangs in our living room! Fantastic experience.Thank you!”

“Can you marry a store? Because if you could, I would marry this place! This boutique/home goods store is relatively new and I've been interested to see what is inside. I drive by all the time and have never had a chance to do so until today. I finally had the good fortune to do so as my daughter and a handful of her Girl Scouts troop had a socially distant crafting class this afternoon. My original intention was to just drop my daughter off and leave since they were trying to limit attendance, but all of the lovely hand-crafted products drew me in. Even my 5-year old son was intrigued by all of the sparkle and unique handiwork. From custom-built furniture to paintings to ceramics to holiday decorations, there was so much to see and love. Despite my husband's warning not to add any more items to our holiday collection, my kids and I could not resist picking up a few items to decorate the house. It was hard to just choose one item each! In this time of the pandemic, we needed something to cheer us up though! The prices of all of the items were so reasonable, which is not always the case in stores like this. And even when my daughter, who has expensive taste (!), chose one of the pricier ornaments in the place, Erica was kind to confirm that it was okay with me first. When my young son wanted to buy just one of three adorable felted holiday mice that were sold in a set, Erica said it was okay, which made my son so ecstatic! He has been walking around the house with the mouse since we came back from the store!I had the chance to chat at length with both of the owners - Richie and Erica - and they were both so sweet and friendly. They are both retired from their previous careers, and it is clear that they have invested much time and care to this new livelihood. They even treated my two young children so well! Usually, places with such fragile items are hesitant to have children peruse the displays, but neither of them minded my kids carefully looking through all of the ornaments and fun goodies! In fact, as we left, Richie presented both of my kids with a kind and unexpected surprise - some magic reindeer food! That was totally unnecessary, but my kids were so touched by the gesture. Again, in this times of COVID, the kind gesture brought a tear to my eye. My daughter has not had much social contact recently due to the pandemic so she was hesitant to venture out for this event. She and I were so glad that she ended up going because she had a blast and we discovered this gem! When we left, Richie told us to come back again and both of my kids said they wanted to come back everyday and as soon as tomorrow. If that doesn't speak for itself, I don't know what will. Erica is an amazing artist and I cannot wait to come back myself someday to shop more without my kids in tow and to participate in an adult crafting class. Erica and Richie, welcome to Stoneham and I hope your store is around to stay for a long time! Thanks for treating a first time customer with such hospitality and friendliness!”

“We got our Ketubah for our wedding from Kolbo. We loved the selection and variety to choose from. The staff was so helpful and patient with us. We especially appreciated Miriam's help proofreading our ketubah before printing. On other trips, we also got our breaking glass and a gorgeous Havdalah set too.”
