“Highly recommended gym/facility with excellent open space, uplifting atmosphere, friendly, knowledgeable and professional trainers! Definitely not your typical gym..and just better all around. Boston Barbell is welcoming, meets all my expectations for fitness. I couldn’t be happier with the progress made so far. Training is very personalized and on point..had opportunities to train with both Chris and John. Both excellent in their position in helping to meet my health and fitness goals..getting me stronger and toner with each session. So much is available, looking forward to starting small group sessions soon. Best place to be a part of especially if health and fitness matters.”
“this is a great place. I‘m glad I started with D1. I have taken 10 classes so far. I already fell that much stronger than before. It‘s very structured class focusing on performance, strengthening, and core. The class breaks down to small , tangible tasks, not overwhelming at all. This is a small family business that doesn’t Have the corporation and chain store Atmosphere. I used to train with orange theory. They have the standardized protocol for classes, With videos guide you through the training process. I felt like i was a chicken on manufacturer line. At D1, The coach will design the class, it feels like personal trainer in a group setting. The equipment is excellent. After each class, I simply feel good. It is not too hard, Making me not wanting to go. I just focus on showing up. I always get very good workout. I feel that this is something that I can stick to. It is not Like some gyms That I would sign up and quit or not going.”
“I can’t say enough good things about this gym. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the energy and the level of care that goes into everything here. The facility itself is top-tier clean, well-equipped, and set up in a way that actually pushes you to work hard and improve every single day. What really makes this place special, though, is the environment. Everyone is included, no matter your level. Whether you’re just starting out or already experienced, you’re treated with respect and pushed to grow by everyone. There’s no ego, just people trying to get better together. The camaraderie here is something you don’t find anywhere. The fighters build real relationships like a family , something that is unheard of in this sport. You’re not just training next to people, you’re going through the grind together, supporting each other, and holding each other accountable.
And the coaches? Honestly, they’re on another level. Matthew Nolan and Mark Nolan lead the gym in a way that sets the standard every day, and coaches like KB, Paige, Alex and Paul bring that same intensity and care every day. They’re not just great coaches, they’re people you genuinely look up to. They push you, believe in you, and want to see you succeed both in and out of the gym. If you’re serious about boxing or even just looking to challenge yourself, this is the place to be. 5 stars isn’t enough. Without this place, I would not be who I am today, not only as a fighter but as a human being as well.”

“This is a top tier facility with great coaching and equipment. Tons of options for group classes and 1 on 1 sessions.
Very knowledgeable coaching. For example they are focusing on good running technique in class as the weather warms up and we start running more. Highly recommend for any range of athleticism and experience.”

“I love being at spin classes here! Pre-pandemic, I was in a 5-morning-a-week routine at my workplace gym with a fun instructor and a great little crew. Coming to FireCycle for morning classes has revived my energy and enthusiasm for getting out of bed each day! I didn't realize how much I truly missed this kind of great cardio workout. It's a welcoming place with great instructors and it is CLEAN...I mean CLEAN. It is cleaner than pretty much anywhere in my house and for sure any gym or even restaurant I've ever been to! It's so easy to just drop in, hop on a bike with your water bottle, and get into whatever dance music or mashup the instructor has cued up. They provide towels and even a shower (did I mention how clean this place is?). Lots of street parking available for early morning classes. Come join the fun and get into a great healthy new routine!”

“Flight Performance and Fitness was my first real strength training experience, and I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction. My experience was incredibly rewarding! From day one, all of the trainers knew my name, helped me through my workouts, and made sure I was using proper form. Dan Stone worked closely with me, took my goals seriously, and built a program that felt truly personalized. Magnus and Bryce were also always available to help and encourage me. I was honestly surprised by how much progress I made in only six weeks. Beyond the training itself, the gym has a fun, supportive atmosphere, with friendly coaches and a welcoming community. Highly recommend!”

“I've been member since August 2024 and can't recommend this gym enough. I have a background in weight lifting but I could never stay consistent until I started working out here. What was great for someone like me was that I didn't need to guess or find some questionable routine on instagram to follow: the trainers make tailored programs targeted at your goals and build around any limitations or past injuries you may have. As a bonus they are also very easy going and supportive which is great for someone like me who had gym commitment issues in the past. There also isn't any pressure while you're in the weight room: there's plenty of equipment so rarely any need to work in and with the small groups you get plenty of one on one time if needed. For someone like me who just needed a little extra push, its been perfect. I've seen great results and plan to continue coming for as long as I live around Waltham. Come hang out! We're pretty fun”

“OTF in Sudbury is amazing - from its people to its workouts! Coaches and administrative staff are supportive, positive, and friendly setting the tone for a welcoming environment and its community of members maintain those same levels! Coming in to workout becomes something you genuinely look forward to and the gains from
the intentionality behind the workouts never ceases to be visible. Thank you to the studio!”

“I've been a member at TILT for almost 2 years now but I have been going to the location in Waltham for about 4 months now and I absolutely love it! All the coaches are great but Cam especially is the best coach I have ever had! He always pushes me to do more, always so encouraging and keeps the class fun! It really makes me look forward to coming to class. I also love the community that we have in the gym where everyone wants to see each other succeed.”

“This is so much more than a gym! You’re joining a village of people who truly care about YOU. CFN is where to be if you want to mentally and physically feel good. Gil genuinely gets to know each member and helps you achieve whatever goals you have in mind. You’ll wake up wanting to go each day. It’s for everyone regardless of your age or physical abilities. Not to be dramatic, but it’s life changing. Come see!”

“I used to use various weight machines casually and inconsistently, I would invariably burn out on whatever exercise plan I tried to come up with on my own. Have never experienced consisent gains in strength like I have in the mere month I have been going to this place. Coaching is always spot on and Michael has an uncanny ability to catch at a glance from across the room whenever I've loaded an incorrect weight on the bar. Would recommend to anyone.”

“Awesome gym run by people who go above and beyond every day. Expert and insightful coaching. Fun and inclusive community. Diverse schedule that includes CrossFit classes, yoga, and cycle. My teenaged daughter and I joined as workout buddies (they take kids aged middle school and up!) and we have gotten so much benefit out of belonging to Tilt for the last year and a half. Highly recommended!”
“The best gym I have ever been to! It has a climbing area, basketball court (they also play volleyball there), racquetball courts, multiple table tennis boards, fitness classes, fitness assessment room, powerlifting area, CrossFit area, stretching area, weight machines and cardio room, private family rooms with cardio machines, indoor track, and so on. There are tennis courts, soccer, and baseball fields near the gym with outdoor running track. They offer free classes and multiple gaming/sporting/health events. They also have weekly club events. Lots of free weights and squat racks are usually available. The gym is clean and spacious. This is my favorite gym!”

“Good workout place, usually not crowded. Front desk people are nice. I don’t take the workout classes but they seem popular.
Negatives are the treadmills which are a mishmash of models & ages with a few broken currently. The mats are pretty old & duct taped up which shouldn’t be.
All in all a good gym with a few obvious areas needing improvement.”

“I had a great Barre3 experience at Barre3 Bedford during my recent visit to Boston (this was my 74th Barre3 studios visit across the US).
The owner, Natasha Robinson, was very welcoming and also a great instructor!
The Barre3 class combo of cardio, strength and mindfulness is the best workout both physically and mentally!”

“*****2nd Review written in September 2025.. I successfully finished the AV1 in the Dolomites this summer. I am grateful to Jazzercise for adequately preparing me for this physically demanding hike. As someone who does not typically hike, like myself, having completed two successful 10-day intensive hiking trips in Europe, I strongly recommend Jazzercise to individuals who are preparing for hiking.
****1st Review written in February 2025. Since joining Jazzercise Acton Center in 2018, I've achieved a great level of physical fitness. Jazzercise has enabled me to tackle challenging hikes, including a 10-day Tour du Mont Blanc hike through France, Italy, and Switzerland in 2023. I'm looking forward to another 10-day hike in the Dolomites, Italy this summer. I'm grateful for the wonderful and supportive Jazzercise teachers and classmates. As always, l love to go to the classes.”

“I was first introduced to Future Shapes 11/2 years ago by the Physical Therapist I had after a knee replacement. She thought that I could benefit from continued strength training and highly recommended Future Shapes. I spoke with the owner Deedee, and she thought that one of her trainers, Toni, would be a good fit. From the day I met Toni, I was impressed with her knowledge of body mechanics, and anatomy and physiology. She quickly analyzed my needs and created a highly customized program. Whenever I complain of pain, tightness or weakness in my body, she is great at pinpointing the source of the problem and providing a solution. She works me hard and makes it fun at the same time! I have worked with several trainers in the past, none have come close to the skill and expertise of Toni. The gym has an upbeat vibe, up to date equipment, and is very clean.”

“Btone Waltham is my happy place! I love the instructors, the type of workout, and the friends I have made in the studio. The space is clean, the instructors are friendly and helpful, and classes fly by. “I saw one of the PTs at Movement Workshop, Taryn, when I had a running injury that wasn't getting better with rest. In addition to manual therapy work, she built a progressive mobility and strength program that has my runs feeling better than than have in years. She understood my goals and was able to make the home program work with the equipment I already had. We were also able to address areas that weren't specific to what I thought was the injured area. Although I'm done with PT, I'm looking forward to continuing to work with with Taryn in the small group training sessions.”
