She won the 2023 MA power lifting championship, and her coaching is focused on the techniques that over time mean the difference between injury and progress. “Love this gym. Having trained bjj at a few different gyms, I can honestly say that this gym has been the best. Jason is very knowledgeable not just in bjj, but in other disciplines as well. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. The pace of the instruction part of the classes are balanced and easy to follow (even with complex sequences). The rolls are competitive, yet slow enough to practice techniques. A true family atmosphere.”

“Joining Boston Underground Strength Training has been one of the best decisions I’ve made! I first joined during a really busy period of grad school where I was working long hours and had a constantly changing routine. It was so nice to know that no matter how busy I was, I would always be getting at least two workouts in each week! I’ve been training with them for 6 months and feel like I have my body back and am stronger than ever! The coaches are so kind and professional and they’re always able to provide adaptations to the exercises when needed. I also really appreciate that the community isn’t focused on weight loss, rather getting strong and feeling good for life. “I’ve discovered muscles I didn’t know I had after more than a year of classes here ?‍? the instructors plan out the classes well and emphasize functional training with the movements. I’ve gotten a lot stronger since joining and have learned the correct form for exercises I was doing incorrectly in the past. The small class sizes make it so the instructor can give more focused attention. Good variety within classes as well! No two strength, core, or yoga classes are ever the same.Highly recommend their group classes ?”

“I went to my first class in November 2022 at the encouragement of my husband. He'd been trying to get me to go for several years, but I felt too intimidated and insisted CrossFit couldn't possibly be for me. It's unfortunate I thought that, because I was absolutely missing out. The community here is incredibly supportive and friendly. Everyone is working to better themselves and your personal successes are celebrated by everyone. The coaches are excellent and very helpful when it comes to scaling the workout to make it work for individuals (and they answer my numerous questions!). An absolute gem of a gym.”

“Facilities, staff, pool, locker rooms all very good. Locker rooms clean, spacious. Sauna and steam room are very relaxing. Staff is uniformly kind and knowledgeable, and they pulled through the pandemic with cheer and goodwill. Plenty of pool hours (lanes and watercize areas), and more in-water and dry-land classes than one person could ever take. Plenty of cardio equipment. I could go on.”

“This wonderful gym is near my parents home and I drop in any chance I get. The community is SO welcoming and kind and I always get my butt kicked by their excellent programming. Every coach is knowledgeable, fun and brings their unique personalities to the class. I really admire the culture the owner and head coach Mel has cultivated at this gym. I have also watched my parents begin their strength and conditioning journeys at Daybreak at the age of 63- Mel and her team create a safe and fun environment for beginners- do not hesitate to check this place out. Can’t wait for my next visit!!”

“I’ve searched for months looking for the right personal trainer. If you’re like me, you wanted someone caring, understanding and will push you to no end. I joined the thumbtack app and came across Slava’s page. Guys! This is the BEST decision I have ever made for my fitness journey. I started this journey at 204.6 lbs. I’m down 14.5 lbs. today. Slava and Anna are the best to do it. They care not just for your exercise routine, but also what you’re consuming daily. I can send a txt when I’m down and out and they have snapped me out of it. They introduced me to portion containers and different protein shakes for muscle recovery. They check on me constantly and gives the best advice. I never knew working out and preparing meals weekly will be so much fun, but when you’re finally getting results, and are consistent with the help of push and motivation from people like Slava and Anna, there’s no way you could fail. I’m doing exercises that I NEVER thought I could do. I’m so blessed to have such an amazing team in my corner cheering me on in my health journey. “I’ve been absolutely blown away from the Brighton location orange theory! The gym has always been intimidating for me and I tried a ton of other workout classes that felt competitive or unreachable. This Orange Theory has always made me feel welcomed and wanted, and I always feel great after working out here! The daily challenges are fun and you get to do something new everyday. “I tried it one day. It seems like a nice little gym. Two issues: the lighting was harsh. They have all exposed fluorescent lights on the main floor that were blinding my peripheral vision- can you add diffusers? Second, the floor on the lower level is uneven around the squatting rack. I tried dead lifts and felt unbalanced. Treadmills are a bit dated and limited to 12mph, which is a bit slow for my interval workouts (is this a liability thing? Can you go to 15mph?). Still, a promising gym with a friendly community.”
