Had an incredible stay at the Rugosa in Eastham. We were in town for my brothers wedding and wanted to find something off the beaten path. This place was super cool. We checked ourselves in, they owner had our welcome packet set up for us when we arrived. We walked into chucks bar (on-site bar on the property) there is no bartender, you help yourself to beers and spirits and write down what you had. My husband and I played games and enjoyed the bar area. The room was super clean and warm during the cold weather of December. We felt at home and always taken care of. If I had one note (it’s just a tiny one) but I would replace the mattress in room 10, it was very uncomfortable but that could also be bc we are used to a softer bed and this one was just really firm. We would absolutely stay here again. It was an experience we will never forget! Oh and don’t forget to stop by the lost dog pub! Best pizzas ever. Order the Margarita pizza and add Pineapple, garlic, and pepperoni. Thank us later!

We enjoyed our stay at Rugosa Guest House and greatly appreciated the room upgrade. We are art lovers and had a great time looking at the diverse art collection on the walls. The lobby is gorgeous as well. Shauna was a pleasure to talk to and she made great suggestions. Thank you so much!

I had an AMAZING stay at Rugosa Guest House. I loved the privacy and all the art on the walls. Definitely a fun place to vacation. They allowed my cat to stay which was very nice. It was very quiet and bed was very comfortable. Joey, the owner brought me extra towels to my room the same day I asked. I loved the free coffee. Very private and peaceful place.

Horrible experience!!! No sleep because of party noise. A toilet that couldn’t flush feces. Bug bites from? …bedbugs? An owner refusing to take responsibility.Late October stay was off-season, with no staff present. It looked like a decent place with lots of common areas. I went to sleep at 11:30pm with all quiet. Sometime after 2am loud music & voices began. We hoped it would stop but by 5:30am I was furious and went to see what was going on. The jukebox in the main room was blasting. I saw 8 people with likely more partying. Back in my room I sent a text at 6am. A few minutes later I heard people saying things indicating they had been told to stop, and within minutes everything was quiet. It seemed to me the owner had contacted them.At 9am the owner responded to me for the first time with a bunch of defensive sounding responses. Very off putting. In addition to the all-night party, the toilet in our room would not properly flush down feces. There were signs trying to give instruction on how to flush, but nothing worked. His response was “The property is from 1751… there old plumbing which is why we have signs”.To add to this misery, my wife received three bug bites that night. After researching they look like bedbug bites.I asked for a refund numerous times and the owner didn’t acknowledge my request.I emailed later with no response. Hence this review.

Absolutely a cut above the rest! The room was clean and well organized. The hallways and dining room were simplistic and well designed. And most of all the entire area was serene and quiet. A perfect place to relax and unwind. I would love to come back again because one night isn't enough. Thank you!

My Husband and I just finished a wedding weekend takeover at the Rugosa and now that we have wrapped things up can honestly say that it was a perfect venue for an outdoor Cape Cod wedding.I think it's important to add that we had a hurricane pass us the morning of the reception, while this was incredibly stressful for us, Joey and Susie stayed calm throughout the entire week as we rolled with the changing forecast. This included working with the tent company and building inspectors to ensure structural stability of the tent for the anticipated storm. Luckily it passed just in time for a great night. The hotel itself is quirky, eclectic and very much a large beach house. Having the wedding party stay at the house gave it a beach weekend vibe right off the bat. Every room had its own character and guests loved it.We rented a tent for 120 people that fit perfectly in the backyard. And while the tent was the star of the show, having various foyers and a smaller inside bar for guests to explore gave it that unique Cape Cod vibe we were hoping for.Throughout the night Joey and his staff were professional and on top of clean up. Additionally, their open bar was affordable and ensured quests were happy the whole night. The wedding weekend package has the wedding party check in on Friday with a check out on Monday morning. Having the additional day for everyone to hang out and recoup by the pool was a very nice (and much needed) bonus. We ended up getting a fire permit for the national seashore for Sunday night which was the perfect end to the weekend. If hanging on the porch with friends and lazy beach days is your group's style then I would highly recommend checking out the Rugosa.

This place is GORGEOUS! Staying here feels like you're in an eclectic art gallery. Everywhere you look there is something that catches your eye.The rooms are spacious, clean, cozy, and I've never slept in a more comfortable motel bed. It's a great location, near awesome restaurants, fun things to do, and the beach of course! We attended a wedding here and it was one of the most magical settings imaginable. Honestly, this place MUST be magic because somehow, a whole hurricane spared us and we had an amazing time.We will absolutely be back here for a weekend of inspiration and relaxation!

We stayed here for a wedding, and wow. What a place! There's love, charm, art, and hospitality everywhere you look. It's a beautiful boho estate loaded to the brim with art. We were welcomed by Joey, the owner, who was on-site to help during all of the key times. The wedding took place on premises in a tent outside. The service was top-notch, with Susie leading a personable and attentive team. Seriously, every person there was so friendly, funny, and helpful! Our group of friends stayed for three nights, and we enjoyed ourselves fully. We spent lots of time in the lounge, patio, by the pool, in different rooms, kitchen, etc. just taking in the atmosphere and complimentary tea. We're sad to leave and are already planning another stay the next time we're in the Cape!Thank you to everyone who made this weekend so wonderful!

Had a lovely 4-day stay here for a Cape Cod wedding. Each room is unique and charming. The guest house is filled with original artworks and plants. We loved walking around the beautiful gardens and pool area. There is a well stocked community kitchen with a refrigerator where you can keep your own food, also a Keurig coffee service and a sunny dining room. The staff is warm and accommodating. My room was made up and towels restocked daily. Best of all are the two darling house dogs, Rosie and Lily, who sometimes hang out in the lobby! I would definitely stay here again.

Very nice guesthouse in North Eastham. Although it is on Route 6, it is set back from the road and buffered by the parking lot. With AC on in our room we didn't hear the traffic. And we didn't hear it from the lovely backyard, which has several patios and terraces, including one just outside the kitchen door. The fully equipped kitchen is available to guests to use, and includes plenty of refrigerator storage, handy condiments and spices etc., and is kept very clean. There is a gas grill on the terrace. We did not use the pool.Very dog-friendly - several guests had dogs. No issues, but probably not the place for someone who dislikes or is afraid of dogs. The sprawling house is charming and casual, anchored by a 1751 colonial that was added onto over the centuries. A combination of historical architecture and high-ceilinged barny additions comfortably furnished with a number of spots to hang out, some airy, some cozy. Lovely art, plants, etc. Nothing fussy. Our room (#3) was in the oldest part of the property so the windows are small and the ceiling pitched. Pleasant and fine for sleeping, and since the rest of the house has plenty of space, it didn't feel cramped. Clean and nicely furnished. Comfortable bed.Great service. We lost our key and they were very nice about it.

Susie was very friendly and extremely helpful with all of my changes and questions. My family found the rooms comfortable and loved the vibe of the place. Really liked all of the art. We will stay there again in the future.
