“Love the Burbank Y, we love that there is childcare when we are working out when the kids are not at school, also love the studio Kickboxing and HIIT classes by Coach Gina Tammaro, Kids love the swim lessons in the Zep pool and Junior Celtics Basketball at the Gym. Its a great facility and they keep on improving stuff. We also tried the various summer camps that Y offers and love them especially Camp Q and Camp Burbank, will explore camp wakanda this year, always suggest them to anyone looking for a full day summer option.”

“The Food Project-- awesome for so many reasons. But, never having purchased their CSA or been to one of their farmers' markets (though I definitely trust other reviewers' 5-star assessments), the basis of my review are their volunteer opportunities and workshops/events for the general public. I met one of my really good friends while volunteering at the Food Projects' urban farm near Dudley Square, where I also got my first experience in urban gardening. The staff are friendly and welcoming to all, whether you're an individual or group (just make sure you arrange ahead of time if you're bringing a big group of people). It's a great place to get your hands dirty and know that you're making a difference in the community by helping a great organization. The cooking workshops they offer at their Dudley Street HQ are also great. Knowledgeable community members teach classes on bread-making, pickling, various cultural cuisines (i.e., Sudanese or Cape Verdean), and all classes are donation-based. Cooking workshops typically run in the late winter and early spring--just in time for you to have some new ideas about how to use the harvest from the coming growing season!-- so keep an eye on TFP's Facebook page or e-mail list for updates on the workshops in mid-winter. There are also gardening workshops offered throughout the spring, and a spring seedling sale.”

“Straight teaching from the bible place of worship. Non denominational, supportive and caring body. Brother Craigwell (minister and elder is one of the many excellent learders, always available to help, support and educate anyone in need, this quality is echoed throughout the body. They dont judge they teach the word of Gods word."Many years ago the Father of heaven touched my wife, she started her journey to find a God fearing "church" MANY churchs didnt fit the bill, personally I rejected all of them but allowed my wife to walk her walk. every church she went to she soon learned they were a house of viper's (which i knew in 1 visit), my wife became run down and weary, losing hope then God lead her directly to 81 Walnut Ave where she found peace, comfort and the true word of God. My first visit I knew this was the home for her.I thank God, the elders and the body for such an amazing and welcoming place to worship God Almighty.”

From the festivals they run (Wake Up the Earth, Lantern Parade and many more) to the community activities held every monthy like Pot Lucks and daily programs they have much to offer! The staff works hard to create a diverse, accepting community that fights against cultural erasure and for equality, equity and our climate crisis!”

“What a special place this is! I did not realize that this group had been in operation for 100 years until I attended the performance yesterday. The building is a beautiful historic building. It is also wheelchair accessible. The performance of Miss Holmes was really good. Good acting, and the set was really clever and creative. They also had snacks during intermission. Only a dollar for a bag of chips or a soda! The ticket price was also very reasonable. I can't wait to see their next play!”

“Had a great time volunteering with my co-workers and the many others that were there. My group worked on sizing. Sorting kids clothes by size, type, and filtering out those that were damaged, too large, not sensitive to children's particular home situations, etc. Kevin was our host. He was fun, energetic, helpful, positive, and inspiring. It does get hot in there, so bring a water bottle to stay hydrated. Signed up with my family for another volunteer opportunity. Looking forward to it! Hopefully I will have the opportunity to try another station but wouldn't be bummed if we get sizing again. Parking in front of building, street side, and other lots in the area. Do not park in the lot next door. They will ask you to move your vehicle. Thanks Cradles to Crayons for the opportunity to give just two hours of our time to your important mission. Also, we were informed that they are in need of boys and gender neutral clothing. Size newborn to 18/20. Board books too. I will bring more bags to donate with us next time we are in the area.”

“The ABGC is a safe, fun, great place for kids to grow up alongside wonderful role models , wonderful staff, and so many of whom have been involved for many years. I have seen a major improvement in my kids social and emotional health from their experiences and relationships, and relationship building skills being discovered and built at the boys n girls club. They also are healthier from the regular swimming, exercising, and excitement of being with friends after school. They learn to cook, and learn all types of different things there. Anytime I walked around inside it was very clean considering all the traffic, they definitely have professionals deep cleaning regularly. I wish I had a place like ABGC in my town growing up. It's a gift to our community.”

“CIMC is a serene building which holds many talks, meditation sessions and classes. Narayan is my absolute favorite teacher but all of the teachers are skilled. Larry Rosenberg was involved for many years as the head teacher but I don’t think he is anymore. Go check this place out. It will help you. Also they have a 15 minute Daily Dharma zoom every weekday from 8:45 till 9:00. There are hundreds of people who join from all over the world. It’s a really fantastic way to start your day.”

“I wish the staff in this place owned all the stores and restaurants in the area because you can’t find friendliness and service at that level anywhere else. It’s one of those places where you need to go in with a mindset of what you need. If you don’t, you’re bound to buy everything!!!Dad always said, ONE MAN’S TRASH IS ANOTHER MAN’S TREASURE!!! Thank you RESTORE for kicking A$$!!”

“I needed a facility where I could work out at my own pace and have the option of classes to strengthen my muscles and my general well being. The Y has offered all of this, the instructors are wonderful and I have met the nicest people. The classes are geared to each person's level and I enjoy the support and motivation they offer. I wish I was able to join sooner!”

“Cute bookstore. Stopped in while on a work trip to the area. The book store itself is rather small but they have hundreds of books cataloged in the back so all you have to do is have them look it up for you. They also have local seasoning, crafts, and more displayed around the shop for purchase. I was able to get the book I was looking for along with some Zatar seasoning. It was a win win for me. Would definitely come back to find a new book or just to see what they have that's new. Part of the proceeds also go to a worthy cause of youth education and literacy so that makes it even better. Will definitely return!”

“Amazing wood floors and an atmosphere. Though a little small, it's bigger than it looks from the outside. This place has it all Lounging areas on the sides for warm place to hang. Next to the dance floor, a killer speaker system hooked up to DJ booth, and a few mirrors for those practicing moves. Would recommend.”

“For over 6 years now, Commonwealth Learning Center has consistently provided excellent individualized tutoring and academic support that has helped our child have proficiency and confidence in school. We appreciate how the tutors over the years got to know our child's specific needs and how they followed a plan of development but remained flexible enough to apply their development plan to real life school assignments. The CLC culture, while focused and skilled, enabled the tutors to work with our child's needs and communicate regularly with us as parents. We are grateful for the lasting impact and shudder to think of where our now high schooler would be without the investment of teachers and tutors and Commonwealth Learning Center. Thank you CLC!”

“When I interviewed 3 months ago with BIlT( Christina) I really could feel she was a person that truly puts the person supported first. This is very important to me. She continues to be this person and it motivates me to be my best. I care for the individuals and want them to experience everything they can. I want to help them, in the way they want. Christina has giving me the opportunity to do this. She supports me and is always there to help me when something is challenging. In my experiences Bilt is by far the most person centered company I have worked for. The staff I have met and trained with are reflections of Christina. Each one of them was kind and helpful. My transition into the job was amazing. Anyone that has struggled to find the right supports for individuals with disabilities should reach out to Built. I would also tell anyone who wants to do something meaningful and truly put clients first, this is the place to work. BILT (Christina) is a company/person that has improved how we care for people.”
