Extremely kind staff. We felt welcome and inspired by the small but unique collection of items. Definitely recommended if curious about the history of the region or just Manchester by the Sea city. Tours are on reservation-only, so make sure to book on time.

This organization is such a bonus to the community. The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. Most importantly, they really enjoy educating visitors on Manchester by the Sea's deep, rich history.

From Manchester-by-the-Sea Museum
The Manchester-by-the-Sea Museum is located at the 1823 Abigail Hooper Trask House. In addition to the on-site history center, the Museum functions as a cultural center, hosting lectures, art shows, and family events centered on Cape Ann history.
We're located at 10 Union Street in Manchester-by-the-Sea, with nearby on-street parking and a public parking lot behind the 1809 meetinghouse. For those reaching us by train, the Manchester commuter rail station on the Newburyport/Rockport Line is located 2 1/2 blocks away. Our main entrance, located at the rear of the building, is handicap accessible.
