We hired Gentle Movers for a move out of a 1400 square foot condo - it took them 12 hours to get us mostly out and over to our new house. We had nothing super complicated- no living room or dining room furniture as we are getting new ones. All we had to disassemble was our master bed, our sons crib and a bookcase - everything else just needed to be loaded. It took 2 guys 7 hours to do that. As we have a toddler who needed to sleep and eat we BEGGED them to call for another guy to help. Luckily, they did that otherwise we don't know how long it would have taken! We also had them leave smaller things that we went back for the next day just to get them on their way.One of the guys could barely walk, so that didn't help matters. We overheard the third guy who came to help unload tell the lead worker Ben that this guy wasn't doing what he should & needed to be spoken to but he brushed it off, so obviously there was an issue there. When I asked why it was taking so long I was told "Everyone thinks it will take less time than it does"To make matters worse - we were paying hourly so it ended costing over $3,000!! I would never recommend this company to anyone! Beware!!! If I could give 0 stars I would.

If I could give zero stars I would. i was quarter a rate which was way less than I was charged for. 3 movers arrived late in a uhaul truck which was too small for my two bedroom apartment. one of the movers sat in the truck in his cell phone for the first hou, while the other two carried out one or two items at a time. When it came time to unload, they told me the price would be increasing because I gave them an inaccurate list of what needed to be moved. I refused to pay the price, which was double the hourly rate I was originally quoted. the movers proceeded to drive off with my belongings and put them in a dirty storage faculty. I contacted the owner who was rude and dismissive. He said I had to pay the new rate or I wouldn't get my things. I found out the company is not licensed with DOT as they claim to be. I was desperate to get my things so I hired another moving company to go to the storage unit and move my belongings. I arranged for a time to meet Gentle Movers with my new moving company. Gentle Movers showed up an hour late, costing me money as I had to pay the new movers to wait. the owner finally showed, I paid him what I owed him. he then threatened me to get myself and my movers off his propert. I ended up having to call the police to deal with the situation. thankfully when the police arrived the owner then agreed to allow my movers to load my belonging. an unbelievablLilly bad experienc. I reported this to the Better Bisiness Bureau. it runs out Gentle Movers had over 40 complaints. I would avoid them at allcosts.

Gentle movers office was immediately responsive to my questions online and continued fantastic communication throughout the process. They even worked quickly to resolve a question I had about the bill as well. Derek and Jensen were very friendly and helpful as our movers. Thank you to everyone at Gentle Movers!

Would be 0 stars if that was an option. We paid a down payment for the first two hours at a price a little below $200 and hour. We were told if it goes over, we will pay that same price per hour. It went one hour over from when they left their office to when they finished moving me, and I was charged over $850 total. One guy who was younger was great. The other guy was a fat slob and was absolutely useless. I did double the work he did. Absolutely avoid these people at all costs.

Wonderful, careful, & polite movers! Unresponsive billing/operations department which overcharged me for an hour's time. Customer beware!

I recommended Gentle Movers from a pretty positive experience from last year. This year however they made my moving experience and the people I recommended them to a horrible experience. On top of taking A LOT of breaks (which they charged for), they didn't bring their own tools, they would carry very little at a time (carried one broom), they gave up on getting our couch up the stairs which we later got up the stairs ourselves. Then at the end, they couldn't figure out how to operate their truck so they charged us for the time it took them to figure out how to close it. They destroyed the walls in our stairway as well as multiple items WHICH THEY DO NOT REIMBURSE FOR even though it's stated in the contract that they would. The management was extremely rude when we tried to communicate with them everything that had gone wrong.

I would leave zero stars if I could! The owner of this business is so rude and has no respect for his customers. The movers were very nice, however, the owner made this a terrible experience. He took our money from us and he will do the same to you!!! TERRIBLE HUMAN. He said that he was wasting his time talking to us ON THE DAY OF OUR MOVE. I recommend moving yourself.

They did a wonderful job keeping my furniture safe. My problem with them is the price. They charge for door to door time from their facility. For the cost per hour they should be judicious with their use of time. They sat in front of my house for 15 min on both delivery and after they were done. In the end that cost me hundreds.

Worst moving company ever. Sent a 20 year old kid with one other guy and zero tools to move furniture from a 3rd floor apartment. Got a couch stuck in the stairway and needed to saw it apart to get it out while also DESTROYING the walls, holes in the drywall everywhere. Hire anyone else but these movers, literally anyone with a truck can do a better job.

I am very grateful that you guys made this move happen yesterday despite the rain, snow and horrible wind. And thank you for protecting my furniture by wrapping them first with pads and then stretch wrap.I am happy to report that nothing got wet. I was also impressed how you took your work boots off before entering the house after seeing that the floors were just done. Gentle Movers is very lucky to have people like you working for them. Very kind and considerate of not only us, but the furniture, the house, the yard, even watching out for the branch of a tree that was in your way. The world should have more people like you. Thanks a million

If you want to get robbed you can use these guys. Unfortunately I had to use use them twice and use their storage services. The experience was unpleasant and upsetting. They charged me $1000 to move me from storage to the basement stating that it took them 5 hours. But it took them less than an hour to unload everything. So I assume they spend 3 hours on the road. They were late, didn't pick up my calls. Even the accounting department was very rude with me via email and never fixed the mistakes in the contract. The move is a very stressful and they make even worse.

Where do I begin with my experience with Gentle Movers.... I scheduled use of this company given my need for storage of my furniture overnight before I was able to get into my new apartment. When confirming dates and availability I confirmed two men and the truck, I also confirmed to have both of my moves be morning moves between the hours of 8-10am. This was as well confirmed in my paperwork, apparently this still does not guarantee this time frame for you.... On the first day they arrived at 4pm to my apartment. Two men arrived, one of the men, this was his very first day as a mover. We began to bring boxes down to their truck when I realized that the man, whose first day it was could barely lift anything. He dropped multiple boxes which were fragile in nature. Once all boxes were down they went on to bring down the furniture. It took them 45 minutes to bring my couch down three flights of stairs into the truck as the man who was new could not lift/ hold the couch. Given this my boyfriend and I helped them move the remainder of the furniture down the stairs as he couldn't lift nor take direction from his coworker on how to hold things! Finally with all furniture down and in the truck, I was hit with an additional charge of an hour and a half because of needing to help move everything and also hit with additional fees that were not communicated. For example the use of shrink wrap on the couch, duck tape, paper to cover the nightstands...etc. I called the company to speak to the manager Abyh on the fact that I was paying for two movers and only had one capable man and how they could resolve this and he was extremely rude and proceeded to tell me that "if I helped move all of my furniture, then why did I hire movers in the first place?". The conversation ended with him saying that I "knew what I signed up for" and that I will not be getting a refund. On the day they came to deliver my furniture after storing overnight, the movers did not come in the morning once again. However all goods arrived undamaged (minus some dirt on the sofa from being in the truck) and it was different men from my first experience who came to bring everything in to my new apartment. I would highly suggest for anyone looking for movers in the Boston area to NOT use them as a company. The customer support is terrible and they are sneaky with the additional charges and fees that they will add.

Well let's start with I can't believe how much crap I have lol! You never know until you move. Steve and the guys were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, quick , and professional! Also very funny which made the time go by fairly quick. All the paperwork was explained and easy. I will definitely want Steve and his guys again! Thank you

Worse experience ever with a moving company. I was moving my mother to come live with me in a new home since she became ill and needed more care. So I was moving from two locations in Boston and Revere. Since the new home we were all moving into was not ready I needed the company to store our belongings for a few months until renovations were completed. When it came time for delivery the furniture we had no covers for were all delivered filthy dirty. You would think they were left outside in a dust storm. Some of the furniture after closer review were dented and scratched. I complained about the baby chair being filthy and my daughters small sofa chair they said they would pick them up and clean it. A month later they were delivered back mediocre clean. After a few weeks I noticed my kids PlayStation 4 and Wii systems were never delivered mysteriously disappeared. But some how the actual games for the systems made it over miraculously. You have to leave a message on their answer machine or send an email in order to get in touch with anyone. Response time is poor you will here back in a day or two. Was just a awful experience to think I spent over $5k with that company I would have my belongings treated better and have better customer service. Awful company steer far away.
