Wow, really surprised by the difference between how Natick handles their customers vs Burlington. Sandra was a huge help over the phone, thank you for helping me with my return.

I make a point of visiting this store every time I visit the Natick Mall. There are many beautifully fragranced soaps, lotions, perfumes, creams and oils here. They also have a few facial care, bath and body accessories. I believe I did see some haircare products in this store as well but I am not 100% sure on that. They have great little hand creams also, that they sell either on their own or in sets, especially around the holidays. These hand creams that I have bought there before are travel sized and are a good way to explore their various scents without having to buy the larger size at first. My favorite fragrance lines in the whole store are definitely the Lavender and the Almond. In fact if you are looking for a good shower oil then definitely go with their Almond shower oil. It is very moisturizing and luxurious. The quality of the items they sell there is excellent. But getting back to my review of the store itself, it is an amazingly well organized and clean store with products neatly displayed in a way that really says that the employees there take very good care of the place. The customer service is good here and the sales staff will always assist you if you are not quite sure what you are looking for or you can't find a product that you were planning to buy. They will also help you decide on new skincare routines using their products if you are in a beauty rut and are looking for a new product line to start using. Another thing that really helps here is that they let you try products out for yourself to let you get a feel for the products before you decide whether or not to purchase any items you are looking at. This is also another place where every so often they run gift with purchase events in which you'll spend at least a certain amount and they will present you with a free goodie bag with several travel sized products. I like this because sometimes the gifts have products in them that I never would have thought of buying and now that they came in the gift I get to own small containers of them so I can decide whether to add them to my bath/body/facial routines. The people at the registers as well as the people on the sales floor are always friendly and make you aware of any specials going on in the store. Sometimes, during the quieter hours in the store (weekday mornings and such) the same person working the sales floor will be working the registers as well and they consistently do a good job at handling both and making sure customers are pleased. I always look forward to coming here and I always leave the store satisfied and happy.

My experience here was tainted by the manager(?) here (Tall-ish lady, ~50's, dyed blondish hair) - unprofessional, judgy, and doesn't even know her own store policies. I get emails from l'Occitane about once a year for legit free products (usually from their Shea butter line, no purchase necessary per fine print in email) and have always been able to stop by any l'Occitane location to pick it up without any issues. It's usually a fun little trip for me and I get to check out their new products. This time, however, the lady was oddly reluctant to relinquish the item and questioned whether I was eligible without even looking at the email. When I tried to show her the email, she brushed me off and said another (junior) associate could help me (he already had his hands full helping a couple other customers). That associate was able to complete the transaction like normal - no problems at all (while juggling multiple customers). What gives? I WAS going to purchase an expensive eye cream for my mom this visit, but since this experience made me feel like I was grubbing for freebies, I'm going to get it from the Burlington location instead. The only explanations I can think of for the lady's dismissiveness are 1) She was judgy/snobby (I'm in my late 30's, but look really young/unassuming), 2) She is just not qualified/well-prepared for her job. OH AND BTW, it looked like a new employee was shadowing her. Way to model good customer service and work ethic. Not going to purchase anything from this location any more - just going to redeem my free gifts here and give my money to the Burlington location near my office. Ha!
