We were treated nicely and politely. The lady Katherine was extremely helpful and friendly, she solved all our requests and completed an important cd deposit for us. Job well done with great souls.

Banked here for 5+ years and have had a great experience all around with their products and customer service. I have always felt like the tellers here have gave me personalized service and provided recommendations that were beneficial

I've been a CSB customer for over a decade and thought it was finally time to give them a review. I bank at the Newton location and the staff are wonderful, Ruth the manager is always going above and beyond to help in all aspects of our personal and business banking needs and the other staff Julia, Katie etc are super helpful and friendly as well. If your looking for a regional bank that's reliable and friendly I'd highly recommend CSB and the folks at the Newton location.

Will lie to your face and tell you they tried to contact you, shut your card down without warning, then try to make it seem like your fault. Never ever trust a bank that will lie to your face

Yeah that old miserable lady named Ruth or whatever it is, is extremely disrespectful. Do better hiring people, thanks.

My account was part of the Melrose Bank acquisition. I am truly DISGUSTED with the POOR SERVICE CSB has provided in the transition. Here is the what I had to deal with in the past month: 1) The account was not set up as a business account. 2) I could not make any deposits on the mobile app ( you systems could not handle any deposits over $5000) 3) The account final got set as a business account but I could not sign in (your system looked me out on first try) 4) Your customer service rep didn't get back to me even though he said he would. 5) When I called back to see when my call was not return as promise, I was told that he could not find my phone number ( great customer service). 6) CSB rep had me reset my password ( I was told that I would not have to but I don't think your folks know what they are talking about) 7) Finally, I was able to log in and to my surprise ALL MY PAYEES were deleted and I was told that I have to reenter them (again, I was told that all my information from pre-merger will be there) All I have to say is ,I need to find another home for my banking where the people that work there know how to handle business accounts.

In the mist of COVID-19 (April 2020), I took almost $40k to deposit to Newton center branch. The branch manager took my cashier's check and went back to inside the bank while I was lock out at the small ATM vestibule. People were coming in/out to use ATM, I was risking my life standing in a small vestibule for almost 30 min. I was wondering why it took so long to deposit one check. The branch manager was reading newspaper and chatting on the phone as I stood out at the vestibule. I finally couldn't stand it and knocked on the door. The manager slowly walked back to the door, she was wonder why i was still there. I told her i gave her a check that is almost $40k and I never receive any deposit receipt to proof the deposit. WHAT WAS IN HER RIGHT MIND that I would dropped off almost $40K and leave without receipt. It took her another 5 minutes before I finally got my receipt. She didn't even apologize and I frustratingly left. I no longer want to deal w/ irresponsible bank like this. Since then I have withdrawn all money from there. There are plenty of banks in Newton center, all of them treated me as a valuable customer. Obviously i didn't get that kind of service at Cambridge Savings Bank at Newton center.

Downgrading my prior already sad review about this CSB branch. Today I went to deposit several checks into 2 separate accounts. I went to the teller because one check wasn't readable by the ATM. Every possible issue arose with their systems and the teller's lack of understanding of them. It took nearly 25 minutes!!!!! to complete the transactions. While I was waiting new customers came in and the branch manager was offering hand written deposit receipts for those with only deposits to make.... Just very backwards. Later, I asked about getting foreign currency for an upcoming trip. I was advised to check with BOA....which only does these transactions for their own customers. Shouldn't CSB know this? Why can't CSB offer relationships with other banks for this service, similar to ATM withdrawals from other banks where the charges are later refunded? CSB is just incredibly backwards, all marketing, no substance. If you have a choice, and are starting a new banking relationship, take my advice and go elsewhere!

I've been happy enough with CSB for over 15 years but, yikes, not anymore. They seem to have hired people who I find untrustworthy, unprofessional, sloppy and goofy. Not what I would expect from a financial institution. The type of checking and savings account I opened so many years ago is not offered to new customers but I still had it until last Fall when I needed to open up a money market account. The young goofy disheveled guy there tried very hard to convince me to change my checking and savings to a current offering, convincing me that it would be the same or better in terms of fees, balances and everything else. It turns out to be untrue and I now have to pay for things I never had to before, e.g. new checks. When I discovered this they would not change back my account to what I've had for over 15 years. This is big and they lost my trust. Recently, I went in to deposit a check. There was only one teller, a young woman who was chitchatting with her friend standing at her window. They glanced at me a few times while they continued personal chit chat, not caring at all that I was kept waiting for quite a long time. Honestly, it was rude and unprofessional. When I finally got to the window, she had a sloppy demeanor in her posture and the way she spoke. She seemed like a bored child. It made me wonder if she is also sloppy and uncaring with private information. I normally ask for my account balances when I make deposits but I actually didn't want her to know more about my accounts. I miss my old teller who was mature and professional. I could always count on her to be courteous and dignified. She may have had the day off or is no longer with the bank. I have had money stolen from my previous bank (Not CSB) after my wallet was stolen. That bank handled the situation very poorly, basically not following their own policies and procedures, apologizing, then allowing the same criminal to take more money out again. Yikes on that so no apologies from that bank kept me from changing my bank. So I'm very sensitive to the professionalism of the employees of my bank. It makes a difference. This Newton Centre branch is big so that this implies the entire CSB now hires sloppy, goofy and untrustworthy people. I fear holding my money there and am actively looking for a different financial institution to entrust my money.

Great neighborhood bank! They refund all ATM charges, and you can always speak with a real person when you call.Much better experience than with big banks.
