This is regarding PODS as a whole and not the local location.Avoid using PODS. Plain and simple. Use any of the other competitors in the market. I spent $9k + to move across the country. When the last two pods were delivered, the same day they delivered the pods (which was the earliest they could deliver) they charged me another month worth of storage. The pods were at my house for 4 days (again, because that was as soon as they could pick them up empty). Does that warrant a month worth of storage?? Apparently to pods it does. I spoke with 4 different people on the phone. All agreeing or having zero clue why I was unhappy about paying a full month of storage for 4 days and got nowhere. Finally spoke with someone to submit a claim for review. The person assigned to the review Jaerren Harvey made a decision that I owed the total amount and would be sent to collections if not paid. All without speaking to me like her email stated she would do before it was closed. I have since reached out to her several times via email and phone and left messages. She refuses to return my messages. All I’m looking for is how she determined I owed a month worth of storage for 4 days. I have no problem paying for a prorated fee, but that’s not an option.Go elsewhere. I used Packrat and was reimbursed money I paid for a full month that I didn’t use.I will never use this horrible service again. They lie about delivery. Pickup. And steal your money.

PODS is a great way to pack and store your things your way. They move the PODS container to wherever you need it to be delivered (Ohio to Massachusetts). I chose to go to the storage location 25 minutes away from my home, and it was easy to unload what I wanted into my vehicle. One day, I went 3X, and it was easy. They had a 30% sale for the move, which was ideal. They are reasonable, and I liked that I could pack my things the way I wanted. The call to PODS was staffed with great representatives who are very helpful with all your questions.I highly recommend the PODS storage system versus movers. They do have 3rd party Packers, movers if needed, but it was pricey, and they are not part of PODS. I called some friends and got help moving things with them. Now my PODS is unloaded/ empty, and I am very glad I chose this move with PODS.

My experience with PODS has been truly horrible. We paid a lot of money to have PODS deliver our belongings to our new house on October 28. Since I would be at the house alone, and not able to unload some of the heavier items myself, we flew a friend across the country to help me. However, apparently, 3 days before the POD was supposed to arrive, there was a problem and they knew that the POD would not arrive on time. But PODS did not communicate this to me. On the day of arrival, we got up early and waited. And waited. And waited. Finally I contacted PODS to ask about the delivery. And on 2 occasions I was told by a PODS employee to keep waiting, the delivery would just be a little late. Even though days earlier they knew they could deliver the POD on the contracted date. Finally, after wasting our entire Saturday waiting for a POD that would never arrive, PODS told us that it would not be coming today, or tomorrow, but it would arrive that Monday. After my friend had already flown back home. I was distraught. How was I going to move the heavy things? I would have to hire someone. So more money out of our pocket. Monday came and went, and no POD arrived. I called PODS and they told me how sorry they were, but that the POD would arrive by the end of the week. I expressed how this has already cost us money that we wouldn’t get back and has completely messed up my schedule. After a couple of days passed, we called again. This time we were told that the POD would NOT be arriving this week, but not until November 18! 3 WEEKS PAST THE ORIGINAL DATE!As of right now PODS is still holding onto our belongings. We’ve been lied to several times about when they would return our things to us. The amount of stress and money lost because of PODS failure to honor their contract to do their job is outrageous. I am supposed to be hosting Thanksgiving, but my kitchen table, dishes and other items are being held hostage in the POD. At this point, I can only hope and pray that PODS gives me my property when they said this time, otherwise Thanksgiving will definitely be ruined this year.My advice: DO NOT USE PODS. I sure won’t ever again.

One of the WORST business experiences I've ever had to deal with. (Background info: I rent and needed to have my items held at a warehouse before delivery to the new house.) I could write an essay on everything that happened but to keep it relatively short, I scheduled my pickup / drop off dates nearly a month in advance and NONE of what I initially scheduled was followed through on. I had to call customer service about 6 times and had 2 different 1 hour long online chats. They tried rescheduling me for 2 weeks later than I opted for, several times, which I would've been fined by my landlord and / or the container be towed. In the end, I had to rent a U-haul to get my items back from the container at the PODS warehouseThe individual customer service associates were all very nice and did their best helping me which I appreciate a lot. Communication through the company however is not great. I had to wait quite a while once I a every connected with anyone over phone or chat to have anything issued sorted out. Email communication has been horrible so far, I have a refund case dispute that I responded to the day after but they never received the email. They did get my response when they said they never heard from me. Now I'm waiting again after 2 emails from my endIf you have a time sensitive move or don't want to waste hours of time trying to contact this company for issues they cause, don't bother. But If you want to start growing grays from 6 straight days of stress, be my guest

Horrible stressful experience. Still waiting for pick up of full pods, waiting for 3rd pod delivery. Problem is what customer service tells you about delivery drop off/pick up doesn't happen. You cannot talk to delivery people or supervisor. Not to mention one pod delivered had water in it which they finally after 4 days swapped out and now we are being charged for it. We cannot access our acct online due to IT issues. DO NOT HIRE THIS CO.!!! Run….

Very easy and convenient to use. PODS dropped off the box and picked it up for me, then moved it across the country and did the same thing at my new place. Once I loaded it up I didn't have to worry about it, and I was able to track it online. Pricey but for us it was super worth it.

This review is for the PODS central/headquarters, not the Norwood facility whose staff is amazing. But PODS Central’s email survey redirected my review to the local storage facility’s Google listing. First off, I was not able to self-schedule re-delivery of my container to my new home online, only the pickup, which I did 2 weeks in advance. I tried calling for a week to get down the re-delivery date and was placed on hold 20 minutes at a time, couldn’t stay on the phone as I am very busy. Finally reached them the following week, and then I find out PODS wasn’t shipping containers over the Labor Day weekend (they are deemed non-transit days). No wonder when I initially scheduled pickup on September 2 it didn’t allow me to schedule redelivery online. After moving my pickup and redelivery date to the following week when they resumed transit, I was then charged another full month to rent (billing cycle was on September 3, with grace period up to September 6). If I had been allowed to schedule my redelivery by September 5, I could have avoided getting billed another month, but since PODS excluded shipping the container from September 2-5, that was not possible. But rather than making concessions for blocking out transit days, they just charged me an extra month to rent the container. PODS may have been the original container moving company, but there are other competitors now (U-Pack or 1-800-PACK-RAT), so I would compare pricing and service in the future. But if you do choose PODS, ask them in advance what their nontransit days are during your rental months, otherwise they will block your container moving plans but still make you responsible for the rental to schedule around their nontransit days. Also be sure to ask them how long it takes to move your container from one city to another. My origin and destination cities are only 90 minutes by car but in different states, so they used that as a reason to take 5 days to move the container (and charged me a full month of rental of the container for taking their sweet time). None of these caveats are explained to you when you call to rent a container, the salespeople are very pushy to book a container for you. Ask the hard questions.I would give 5 stars to the PODS truck drivers though, as well as the local storage facility staff, they are courteous and friendly, frankly, amazing service, above and beyond. But too bad headquarters and the headquarters’ customer “advocates” are not as professional. One more issue, insurance. They have mandatory insurance through a third party ($50 monthly for up to $10,000 plus $50 transit insurance if moving the container out of a region) but you are not privy to the terms of the coverage. In a previous order, one of my bins got damaged and I filed a claim but it was denied because apparently there is a $100 deductible, which is not described in anything you sign. You are not provided an opportunity to review the terms of the insurance policy to know this or any policy exclusions. I filed a complaint with my state’s insurance regulatory department about this lack of informed consent.

Easily one of the most difficult moving experiences I've had. While the initial pickup went well for the most part, getting my things delivered was a nightmare. It also didn't help that multiple items were damaged beyond repair during the shipment. They're well meaning and perhaps others have had far better experiences with them, but I can not recommend using them unless you have literally no other choice.

Garbage service. The driver wouldn't leave the pod the first day and the customer service was so bad that I had to drive to the warehouse to speak to somebody. Another driver came back 2 days later to put the pod I know the exact same position. I was told that I could schedule my pickup/ delivery 72 hours in advance. When I went to schedule pickup the next available date was 15 days away. Absolute horrible service. Would not recommend to anybody

Do not under any circumstance use this company, at least in this area.Truly incredible in the literal, and very negative sense. I was delivered a broken pod that would leak water at the slightest hint of rain. After two calls with PODS customer service, was told it would be replaced right away, which it was not, accompanied by complete radio silence. As my move-out date approached, I was unable to reach anyone at this local warehouse, where my PODS service is based, or customer service for a replacement. I requested a refund and that they take the pod away, for which I am charged a daily rate by the apartment complex. The customer service rep opened a ticket yet the pickup never happened until the previously booked pickup date. When the driver called, he had no idea that any of this had occurred, and said that on his end, he was showing that he was supposed to pick up a full container. Now I have been on hold for for 3 hours, 15 minutes, and counting, to ensure that they don't ship out an empty container across the country and charge me for it, and to give me the refund that I am still waiting for, for the original delivery.Incidentally, Uhaul, which I used as my back-up plan, sent out the UBox units with moving help for 1/3 of the price of PODS including a trans-continental ship. Not that they don't have problems but at least you can count on them to deliver working product and answer the phone.Update - Over 2 weeks after my final cancellation call (4+ hrs on hold for this single call alone), in which I was told I would be contacted by some resolution team about my refund, I finally gave up. Still zero contact of information. I called the credit card company for a chargeback. This company is a scam. Do not use.

Absolutely horrible service— they confirmed it was contactless but then in the early morning today our driver called and said we needed to be in person to sign a waiver. After waiting for them to deliver our Pod for a month, they are now holding our pod hostage for an additional 10 days saying there is nothing they can do to deliver it sooner. We’ll either buy replacement furniture or have to rent trucks ourselves to go pick it up from the warehouse. Avoid at all costs- we’ve gone with UBox before and had no issues—use them!

Moving just is not that fun guys & gals! Many boxes, rolls of packing tape, magic marker labeling, an inventory list I gave up on mid-move, some high doses of stress, a few hiccups, multiple glasses of wine to maintain sanity!! Overall satisfaction with PODS is a thumbs up tho with a cautious recommendation. Do your research, check various moving methods & costs versus staying put!(lol) Thing is...we are not done yet..more moves to come for this optimistic nomad...A Serial Mover??♀️??

My Horror Story with PODSPretty much every step of the way, PODS has screwed me over with little to no warning and forced me to clean up the mess they've made, leaving me without access to my own belongings.PICKUP DAY: They were schedule to come pick up my pod at 2pm on a Friday. As instructed, I bought moving permits from the city so that my pod could legally be there on Friday. 2pm becomes 5pm, 5pm becomes 8pm and they let me know that they're unable to pick up my pod on Friday anymore! Thus leaving my pod sitting there ILLEGALLY over the entire weekend. I was extremely lucky that the city didn't tow my pod.DROPOFF DAY: I scheduled my pod drop-off for 9/1 over a month in advance. When I called 10 days before to confirm my drop off, suddenly they are telling me they are completely booked and unavailable to drop it off until 9/11. WTF!! Ok so they say there's nothing they can do to change it, so they say I can come manually pick up my stuff with a U-Haul on 9/1. Not ideal (or what I paid them for), but whatever. I book my U-Haul and hire some movers. Then, the next day, they tell me I can't pick up my own belongings until 9/5.PODS is an absolute dumpster fire and I can't recommend using a different service enough.

Customer service is an absolute nightmare and is the sole reason for this rating. Nothing gets resolved and nothing gets answered and you will be on the phone for hours waiting to speak with a nonexistent supervisor. So frustrating!!

I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience with the moving company PODS, and I am compelled to share my disappointment with their services. I had scheduled a pick-up of my POD on a specific date, they gave me a 3 hours window, only to be met with a complete no-show and absolutely no communication whatsoever. Driver never called - i live in Massachusetts and the warehouse is in norwood which is 25 min from my condo shame just don’t go with them waste of time and energy , and I challenge them to investigate on this and make it rightThe driver was out of this warehouse and that’s why i am writing it here
