This post office has become a hostile place for customers and employees alike. The postmaster is consistently rude, abusive, and discriminatory, returning packages well before the required hold time and making it difficult for residents to receive essential mail. Many islanders have changed shipping preferences or stopped using the mail service entirely because of this behavior. This is unacceptable for a vital community service.

Absolutely abysmal, third-world type of operation. My wife’s medication (which arrived to the post office a day late) was scanned ready for pickup at 10 AM. Like others I see in the reviews, we had to stand in line, then learn we had to fill out a slip, then get back in line for them to tell us it isn’t ready and to come back tomorrow. Staff was not friendly. Awful, even by the USPS very low standards.

this place the worst, the service is terrible and the people that work there are mean. They made me wait in line twice, first time I asked them if I could get my package with the pic of my Id and they said yes, but I had to fill out a inquiry sheet and the second time they literally refused to hand me my package. This is not the first time I get this awful service from them, in other occasions even though I had my Id with me, their response had been dismissive and straight up rude!

I mean talk about not serving your community well 😡 why would you not open the window so people can get their packages the day before Christmas? It’s not our fault packages are delayed. And you don’t even have the decency to post this closure days before so people will know this? All time low.

Worst service ever. Waited in line for over 30 minutes to pick up a package being held (even though it could’ve fit in my box) and once I got to the window and provided the clerk named Joanna my tracking info; she told me I had to fill out some identification card and go back in the line and wait another 30 minutes. I tried quickly filling out the card (which would’ve took all of 30 seconds) at the window as I was on lunch break but Joanna was so rude and aggressive and nasty, I just decided to leave.
Keep the worthless ointment Joanna you can have it. Learn how to be polite if you’re working with the public.

It was easier if I go to Boston and get my package from store instead of dealing with the people who works in this place. They're just trying to make it harder for you to get your package.

Horrible. Lines are always huge because there arent enough employees. Tracking says available for pickup but employees cant find it… horrible customer service

If I could give this post office a zero, I definitely would! After standing in line for 1 hour, two days in a row, I show my usps tracking number, only to be told my package wasn’t ready to be picked up. ??????? !!!!!. I ask if he could please just look for it, but he refused. He assured me it was there, but not available to be picked up. I asked when WOULD it be available, and he tells me maybe tomorrow afternoon. Hmmmmmmm….. ridiculous!

Worst post office I’ve ever been to in my entire life, refused my package and returned it for no reason whatsoever and provided zero explanation as to what happened and what i should do to reorder it. Horrible organization and even worse service, will never order anything here again, i dont know what is the purpose of ordering things here when they cant even take my order

Previously I did not understand reviews that stated, “I would give them a zero if I could.” After visiting the OB post office, I totally get it.
The OB post office is the worst of government and humanity. I get that it’s a federal gov’t institution and that as a monopoly they have no competition. I also understand how that sets the stage for inconvenient policies and low service levels. What I don’t understand is why the Saturday female window worker (said she was the supervisor, when I asked for one) is so rude, unprofessional, and angry.
