This place is full of nonsense but it’s clear the people working are just following the rules while being understaffed. To be fair- Oak Bluffs Post Office is head and shoulders above the endless mess in Edgartown or the supreme hell that is VH’s post office…..Still a place of dread when I have to attempt to get a package. They make everything show on the tracking number as put into a parcel locker- but it’s just a lie for metrics and they’ll actually take multiple additional days to get a slip into the PO Box.

not enough staff and the ones that are there are absolutely so rude every time! last time i was there i stumbled on a few words at the beginning of my sentence and the man working made a nasty face and told me to hurry up. the interaction took no longer than a minute yet he was very disrespectful for no reason!

Tracking said available for pick-up, get there, they tell me I needed to give it a “few more days because it was probably still in the truck”. Asked the clerk to check just in case because the packages were literally right behind them and it wouldn’t have hurt to do their job - Jamaican clerk joined the other clerk and both were very rude and raised their tone of voice. Gave them a few more days as they requested, so that ONLY 3 days later, they returned my package to sender. Staff is condescending and aggressive - very hostile environment, their energy makes me scared of walking in.

I feel like every employee there hates their job, otherwise, why would be so miserable? They need to understand if people stop using their services they will lose their jobs and as a result their income. This location has 32 negative reviews! Does USPS management even care?

I can't prove this, but I have a theory this one office is the reason so many people want to privatize the Postal Service. Sometimes I enter this place, look into the eyes of those in line, and think 'they're gone, it's too late for them, all you can do is save yourself' and turn right around while I still can.

I cannot express enough how rude the staff here is. The man working behind the counter started off our interaction yelling at me and being extremely condescending. I’m new here for the summer and waited in line for a half hour since my package was delivered to the parcel locker. My landlord has a PO Box and apparently the package slip got placed in there (it wasn’t there …) this man refused to give me my package without this slip even though i had my ID showing it was mine. He Kept explaining I need to “triage” before “going to the ER”. Not sure what that reference was about but i think he was making fun of me for being in scrubs. He continued to bark orders at me on how I was supposed to do things and didn’t believe me when I told him that the last time I got a package they just took my ID without a slip. Luckily the woman closing down the line took my ID and found the package no slip required. I sat and watched this guy yell at 3 people after me and a sweet older woman told me he yells at everyone. Shocked everyone just tolerated this behavior. He shouldn’t be employed to work for the public if he treats people like this.

What purpose is USPS tracking if the package that USPS has notified you via email as being delivered and waiting, has not been delivered? You drive into town and park. You go into the post office standing in line waiting your turn to find out that is not available despite the email notification.Excuses. Condescending Excuses.USPS is uselessChange your notification. Don't notify me to come and get it when it is not ready to be picked up.

I just paid my annual fee of $166.00 and checked on an order shortly after only to find that the post office shipped it back. I NEVER GOT A NOTICE IN MY PO BOX to indicate that the order had arrived! One of many tales, but something has got to change. Please?!!!!

Very convenient option if you're vacationing on the Cape & want to drop off a couple of postcards while on the Vineyard doing touristy stuff. This USPS location is smack dab in the middle of all of that, but still seems like an active resource for locals as well. Quick service at the window, despite a handful of people in line.

The USPO mission statement is “to provide the nation with reliable, affordable, universal mail service.” The statement highlights the main duty of this agency. Its fulfillment shows that it:1) Improve lives2) Exceeds expectationsThe employees at the Oak Bluffs US Post Office fulfill their mission statement by marking up my mail before putting them in my PO Box which means they EXCEED my EXPECTATIONS: I never thought they could be so passive-aggressive.FYI: Pound signs (#) are an acceptable substitution for "PO Box". According to Publication 28 - Postal Addressing Standards 213.2 Pound Sign (#): If the pound sign (#) is used, there must be a space between the pound sign and the secondary number.Just do your freakin' work and try, try, try to perform it like you care!

if i could i would give this joint less than zero stars. the supervisor needs a supervisor and a few lessons on bedside manners. oh, she's also inept. trying to convince me that her post office doesn't have a box number *&^* when i'm standing there in front of her w/ mail i just got out of my box that has box number *&^* written all over it. she then had the nerve to tell me there was no package there for me, refused to listen to my tracking number, and then found it anyway. the entire staff talks down to people and/or looks at you like you have 59 heads. i may have two or three, but not 59. i also try to be nice to people. this last bit wasn't part of their onboarding process, i suspect. other than that? i love this place.

What can I say that hasn't already been said in the other reviews here? Out of all my negative experiences in this place, there's a common thread: the employees will deny any remote possibility that THEY made any mistake, and will condescendingly shift all the blame onto you."The last employee wasn't looking for your package in the wrong place, it was YOUR fault for not handing in a plastic express package slip!" (I did hand one in.)"We MUST have delivered it, your other family members just picked it up without telling you." (If they did, I wouldn't be here.)The irony of finding out they've lost the Christmas presents you ordered, while the post office itself is covered with posters about how "USPS delivers holiday magic!" Wouldn't that entail actually delivering something?
