“I happened upon this shop while visiting family in Rockport. It’s a beautiful little shop packed with gorgeous vintage books of a variety of niches and themes. I could have spent hours in here, but we were a party of four so I didn’t have the freedom to stay all day. I did manage to find some gems in the short time I was shopping, though: 2 amazing little Golden Guide nature reference paperbacks from 1950 (Wildflowers) and 1959 (Pacific Northwest general nature ). The books in this shop are displayed and stored with a lot of care and, despite the abundance of merchandise, it is very clean, well organized and has the aura and atmosphere of a well-loved bookstore that has seen many moons ! (I don’t know how long the shop has been in business, but this is how it feels, regardless!) Many, if not all, are bagged and tagged. To actually look through a book, you must ask the shopkeeper to remove the bag. Since these books are vintage and out of print, that’s a good measure to protect the integrity of the books, and is also just simply being a good steward of bibliotheque history. I will come back to shop again next time I’m in town and walking the main drag. Thumbs up for surprising, unique, original, out of print finds in nice condition!!”

“Dogtown Books is the place that you find the book that you never knew you needed. There are shelves packed full of books and soft chairs scattered around this cozy store. The books are wonderful and there are some old ones that would be very hard to find in other places. The book store has a welcoming atmosphere with boxes of free books outside the store, and dogs are allowed inside the store. The store is a short walk from the ocean and in a beautiful area. Six out of five stars!”
