“I am so glad a friend recommended this auto body shop to me. Both Steve Sr and Jr are wonderful guys who I feel like genuinely care about their customers and go above and beyond for them every time. Highland Ave Auto Body is how customer service used to be, which unfortunately is getting harder and harder to come by these days. I would much rather support this small, family owned business than go to the dealership where I’m going to get all these additional charges and someone trying to sell me services I don’t need. My car was only a couple of years old and I feel like the dealerships encourage you to use them but at the end of the day, there’s really no need and it’s just a waste of money - as someone who has done both at different periods in my life, I can honestly say I can’t see any difference in the professional quality of the work from Highland Ave Auto Body versus the dealership. The quality of the people is noticeably different though! It’s reassuring to me as a female to know that I’m going to people who are honest, decent and down to earth and will not only do the right thing by me but will try to save me money in the process! They do phenomenal work and I was so pleased by the results. I’ve been to them a couple of times and they really do take all the work away from you when it comes to dealing with the insurance company as well. They work with a rental company too who will pick you up / drop you off at their shop, so everything is super easy. Now that I’ve found this place I’ll never go anywhere else and I’ll be sure to share with friends and family! Give them a try - you won’t regret it!”

“I had called earlier this morning and spoke with Angel about a battery for my vehicle and not only did he check to see if they had the batteries in stock but he also gave some great advice about checking the starter alternator and they do that free of charge. Had I known that before paying a certain dealership to check for those things at a cost I could have saved. So next time, I’m calling AutoZone first before I call anyone else. They also offer warranties on the batteries which I took advantage of previously And they did a great job. As I got to the store, I met with Dylan who was very nice and helped me with my battery checked To make sure I have the right one because there were several batteries to choose from. Dylan and Angel both came to assist me to get my battery installed and then also checked my starter and alternator to make sure everything looked good. The service that I was given, not only on the phone, but in person was amazing and I will definitely be back to this location! Thank you to all of those who helped me today you helped my day!”

“1/21/26: I’ve bought headlight bulbs from this store before, always stocked with whatever I’d need. One day, I had a stubborn lamp that just wouldn’t budge. In what happened to be below-freezing weather, the nerves in my fingers had less patience with me than usual. So I reached a point where I decided to turn to people slightly more “mechanically inclined” than yours truly. Store manager Tyler came out with no hesitation to help me out. He fixed it within minutes. No problems. No charge. They didn’t even try to sell me anything. So I implore anyone reading this, in the Salem area (or beyond): if you’re in search of any auto parts or car-related products/items, etc…..Then go to this store. They’ll help with what you’re looking for.

The team of Tech Joe Lavoie Service Manager, Steve Duke and Lou LaVoie have saved me on a number of occasions but most recently outdid themselves My winch bit the dust while I was I. A very precarious position and was in desperate end of a quick solution These guys have come to know me and know how much my business relies upon my equipment.They were able to canibalize and cobble together parts from another winch to get me back up and running within a day!Big thanks to them!Also a shout out to Peter Livas and Anthony Colangelo who have provided exceptional customer service.Thanks!”

“This great local shop is extending the lifespans of our two,15+ year-old Camrys! Call them and schedule an estimate/quote. They'll tell you if parts need to be ordered then call you when parts are in and get you on the schedule.

Accurate estimates and detailed receipts mean you get fair, transparent pricing. Office and shop staff are courteous, answer questions and careful with your stuff; Matt is running a terrific service. Shop is busy, so call, they'll get you in quickly!

Just had new hood hinges installed, including paint/clear coat in a day. And the broken cable that works the fuel door now fixed so it's no longer gaping open for the car wash to grab!”

“(Minus one star for a bit of a long wait/it can be unclear what they are doing when) but otherwise, this place is great. You can tell that they are eager to help. I got a flat tire on Saturday and as I was down the road, I stopped by. Not only did they let me walk in without an appointment, but they didn’t have the right size tire for my car and went above and beyond to put a spare on so I could get home safe. They also offered to order a tire for me to come back Monday and have installed. Great service and such a kind owner.”
