“Our tour guide told us to go here last October to avoid long lines for shops that have stuff you can buy on Amazon. This shop was EXACTLY what I was looking for. I bought the coolest souvenirs for my friends, family, and myself! I was in here for so long. Coolest shopping experience. Even though it was busy, all the employees were literally so nice and in such a good mood. 10/10.”

“BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! I can not express how much I recommend coming here for all your framing, matting and overall picture needs. I got the benefit of working with Tom today, who is both incredibly personable and very skilled at what he does, and he made the whole experience so much less stressful. Originally, I only came in to get one print matted, and I ended up going back with not only three other prints of mine, but two other friends, who together had around 15 prints. He was able to fulfill the full order in less than three hours, and the craftsmanship is impeccable. There are a couple other framing shops in the Boston area, and none of which will give you an experience, or deal, like this one. Already told my professor to make this shop a well-known one at Boston College, and I'm really grateful I was recommended this shop. Thanks again Tom!”

“Kolbo is the most beautifully curated Judaica shop I have visited in the U.S. the team has great taste and a keen eye. This is not your bubbie’s Judaica shop. The stores is full of light and offers a combination of modern and traditions items, from kiddish cups to katubahs. Also a great collection of Jewish art and jewelry. Great vibe. Highly recommend.”
“Not the place to go to find a specific book, but a lovely place to go to look for an interesting book. Many of their books are only for sale by collection; the ones for sale individually are fascinating, beautiful and affordable. When I was there, the front of the space was a photography exhibit which was also not to be missed. The employees are helpful, and it's a great place to relax and poke through books.”

“The building is buzzing with activity; Corbusier built a community center that feels perpetually alive. Finding the Carpenter Center is like discovering the gem within: the exhibition was thought-provoking, inclusive and beautiful. I recommend a visit as well as the fig sandwich next door at the museum Cafe.”

“gateway arts is one of the best art programs ever of all time I first went here back in 2017 and I had a blast making stuff and having some of them being sold and make money from them while there is a part of me that's wanna go back I know there are times were you have to go to other places but I do go back and visit once in a while but I still come over to the events at times I have met so many awesome people at the place stuff, artists and even interns I have seen some of them go but a few are still there, gateway arts you are an amazing place now and forever.”
“Excellent hub for community gatherings, events, classes, workshops, and other types of congregations ! Pretty cool, old building, it’s had some mediocre upgrades, still quite a bit to do. I’m a local that has been helping with that quest, and it’s been getting incrementally better :)”
“This gallery should be on every collector’s radar! The art is innovative and ever-changing. I recently went to their ‘New Horizons’ NFT exhibition, which was the first ever in Boston. The event was a huge success, there was a DJ and a generous selection of drinks at an open bar. It was very fascinating being able to interact with the artists and their work. I highly recommend checking out the featured NFTs while they’re still displayed.”

“I have been a collector of rare books for 3 decades and have never been in a shop with such fine employees. I brought my 20 yo son who had never been in a similar setting and they immediately attended to him and helped him to feel comfortable and appreciated. While they are not the largest antiquarian bookstore the volumes they own are carefully curated and chosen for people with budgets from $50 to $50,000. I have no other relationship to them except as a customer and get no discount for my opinion (I wish!). Much luck to them. Ask to see the Picasso miniature!! Jim”
“My first time at Brickbottom Studios was about 8 years ago. My friend Wally Gilbert has an art studio there. In 1980 he won a Nobel Prize for developing one of the first methods to rapidly sequence DNA. Wally ran a laboratory at Harvard University. Wally also founded 2 companies Biogen and Myriad.Since he has retired from becoming a great Artist. Using a 2 megapixel camera Wally Gilbert started taking Pictures of colorful objects and architectural features that caught his eye throughout Europe. In art and science Wally craves discovering something new. I highly recommend you check out Wally’s fabulous art!!!”

“So much to choose from. Gotta love handmade stuff made locally. Simply adorable. I was so intrigued by all the various things they offer. Since there is a variety of things to choose from like jewelry, tchotchkes, hanging art pieces, face masks, trinkets, etc. So you never know what you're gonna find, which I guess is a good thing, variety is the spice of life. They are in a space w/ Mud Flat so don't confuse the two, they are separate entities. Although some things are pricey since all handmade goods, it's wonderful to be able to support women owned businesses.”
“We saw a really cool exhibit on the traditional art of calligraphy with an interactive portion to try calligraphy. It's much harder than you think and really made me appreciate how talented the artists are. It's free with donation suggested. I would definitely recommend it.”
