“This place is the bomb. Period they are amazing and always have been I go out of my way to shop here because nowhere is better. They are kind and helpful, and the supplies are what I want and usually more! This is my number 1 art store, it doesn’t get much better than here.”
“A wonderful experience browsing the lovely selection of hand-dyed and rarer yarns. This store has a good selection of natural fibers such as wool, bamboo, cotton, and even linen! While it seems to have an emphasis on natural fibers there are other wool/nylon blends, wools with metallic accents etc. Also has a nice selection of discounted “orphan” donated yarns for anyone who has a small project in mind.
Besides yarn, it has a section of interesting handmade buttons, small amigurumi kits that can make nice presents, and plenty of knitting and crochet tools (stitch markers, measuring tapes, ball winders).
Picked up two wool skeins and can’t wait to start new projects!”
“They have a few-thousand different kinds of ribbon you can buy by the yard, and a handful of veteran employees who love making suggestions. The key is setting expectation for your five-year-old BEFORE you go.”
“This location has a good selection of art and craft supplies as well as notebooks, coloring books and journals. There is nothing I have not been able to find here.”
“This is the best art supply store. It just seems to have everything for every medium commonly used. There's a wide variety of markers to choose from. They also have gift cards. One gotcha, parking is very difficult. It's best to walk there. There is validated parking from an adjacent garage though.”
“My friend booked the Mosaic Taster Class as a fun activity, I had never really done anything like this to be honest and WOW, it was such an amazing experience! Suzanne is a wonderful teacher and she is very detailed with her explanations. I'd definitely recommend taking her classes and I'm looking forward to going back and taking more!”
“Browsing this beautiful shop is an enjoyable experience. I felt as if I were in a museum, a personal collection or as if I had traveled far, far away. It is easy to tell that much love and care is put into the inventory. Tsering himself was friendly and kind. He helped me find a particular ring I was looking for and let me open many textiles to see them better. He shared some funny stories about first encounters with Bhutanese phallic motifs. It was an educational time, much more than a quick stop in a shop, and next time I come back to MA I’ll be sure to stop by! Thank you Tsering!”
“Went in on a Sunday to pick up an order for my wife. Store was not yet open, but they were very nice and helped me anyway. There was a mix-up on the order that was not their fault. Tricia (manager?) was very polite and professional and straightened everything out quickly and efficiently. Absolutely wonderful customer service. Very well done!”
“I want to give this store 5 stars. I was walking to the shoe store and came across the Paper Source. I needed some special gifts for my daughter and the other children in the Boston Children’s Hospital. The gentleman working today helped me pick out several gifts that will go to children in pain. They are at the hospital for 3 - 8 weeks depending on the children and their diagnosis. I left from the Paper Source with perfect gifts for each of them. There is so much to choose from, with a rainbow of colors to uniqueness, this store has it. Highly recommend:)”
“Bellow there is a review about us not wanting to cut pieces of fabric and then having to call the police. I am the girl that was there. They wanted to have 5 different fabrics 20 yards each cut into 1 yard pieces. That would be 100 pieces to be cut. I also had a line of 5 people behind them. I ended up cutting some and then they kept asking after I said no. They started becoming irrate and yelling so I took the next customer. While I was cutting for that customer she comes behind the counter picks up the fabric she wanted and threw the fabric on the counter in front of me twice. A customer was the one to call 911. She starting yelling in my managers face. Causing another customer to start yelling at her saying thats no way to treat people. Then when the police showed up they then started screaming at the police which is why if they show up they are trespassing. Also I work with with Asian people and I get many customers who speak in broken English from many different cultures I do not care about that but I do care about being treated like a human.”
“I am a painting contractor and I deal with many stores and I know Colorworks since I worked as a painter for another company and I'm always treated as a valuable customer. I basically work in the Metrowest/Northfolk areas rarely in the Northshore, but I still have mostly of my project orders coming/made from Colorworks. They are the best in matching colors. All the staff are very pleasant and knowledgeable about the product. I'll definetelly keep using their services!”
“Ginger beef donburi is so addicting
It is more on a fusion side but I haven't been able to stop thinking about it for the past 2 years. I just wish they opened earlier so I can get it for lunch too”
“I didn’t know what to expect at this store but I’m really glad I took the trip to come out here. The girl who worked at the sewing center or whatever it’s called is so sweet, you can really tell she loves her job and enjoys helping people. She gave me really clear directions and I found what I needed within seconds. I’m pretty sure she came around the corner to see if I found the item, so I really appreciate her for going the extra mile. I went to check out at the cash register and was met by Araya, a literal ray of ☀️. She also seems to enjoy her job and is so positive! We were able to chat for a bit and she was very relatable, she made my day with the great conversation we had. Joann in Saugus has wonderful employees which is very rare nowadays, bless both of you!”
“Although the store had everything that I needed, store personnel only pointed to the potential location of the items. Good supplies, poor associate interaction and support.
Several sale items were not priced.”
“My favorite store maybe ever. Make and Mend is a magical place full of every craft supply you ever need. From material to support my classroom activities to my sewing and embroidery hobbies. And whatever hobby is next for me to discover. The staff are so welcoming!”
