My mother’s Tv was broken for a week and still is. There are other patients with the same issue. Maintenance was notified every day that I was there and did not show up!!! Unacceptable! For many patients, the tv is all they have to pass the time ! I plan to file a formal complaint! How does a staff member just “not show up.”

I had a great visit with a close friend today and had a chance to observe several staff members interact with quite a few residents. I was really impressed to see how they treated each and every resident!

My visits to Bear Hill Rehabilitation have been pleasant. The staff are welcoming and informative. The lower level looks bright and welcoming. The second level not so much. The wall paper is from 1980.It needs updating and a paint job.The lighting is dim and that takes a toll on older eye vision.A fresh coat of paint would do wonders.

I am delighted to write a review on behalf of my mother, Virginia M, who has been a resident at Bear Hill Nursing for the past seven months. It brings me immense joy to see my mother so content and engaged in her new life at this nursing home. She has found a community where she can keep busy with various activities and socialize with new friends. The staff at Bear Hill Nursing has been attentive, compassionate, and dedicated to making my mother's stay comfortable and enjoyable. I am grateful for the positive impact this facility has had on her quality of life. Thank you, Bear Hill Nursing, for providing a loving and nurturing environment for my mother.

I would give a 2.5 if I could. But anyway, my mother was in Bear-hill from Sept 8, 2023 until Oct 23, 2023. Her stay was quite interesting. She had to go to short term rehab for PT as well as wound care. Let me start with the Pros of her stay; PT/OT was really good. They pushed mom and worked w/ her for 40-60 min per day around 5-6 days a week (Until her legs were just to weak to work anymore). -Darlene & Kelly were both GOOD! Very helpful and caring. -Nicole the NP was very nice, thorough, and always following up with me on mom's status. -Binita, Supervisor of nursing is Very nice, caring, tried to stay on top of all our concerns & problems w/mom, but is only one person trying to get multiple things accomplished. -Ruth, Sam and Emanuel, all floor nurses, ALL knew their job really well and Always looked out for mom's needs when they could. They all cleaned and cared for her and her wound (bed sore) and always showed compassion and explained to me what was being done and how the wound was looking whenever I asked. Ruth helped mom whenever she could, if she wasn't busy elsewhere. They spread her around and it wasn't fair to her or her patients. It would be so much better if you could get used to certain nurses on a reg basis instead of not knowing till that day who was going to be her nurse.-Bridgette- who does all the scheduling for transports and gets answers for you and finds the right help when you need it. She is THE BEST!!! So caring and pleasant. Now the CONS; Because we didn't get the same nurse EVERY single day that knew mom, there were times that mom didn't get the medicine needed to help with her wound. Another time she was dehydrated and got SOMEONE ELSE'S IV hydration medicine saline, that was labeled DO NOT USE after 6/15/23. UNACCEPTABLE!!! And luckily for mom (and them) it wasn't life threatening. -Call bells could take up to 30-40 min at times before anyone showed up, while there were aides out in the hall that mom could hear and they wouldn't even check in on her. She had many accidents in the bed because of the lack of response time. -They promote wound care with daily wound nurse and weekly DR visits. My mom only saw the DR 1x (due to DR excuses). And that one time was pretty quick and she wasn't that caring in my opinion when explaining to me mom's status. And Jen the wound nurse specialist is not that happy, and only checked on my mom when I asked or maybe 1x a week. -Food was not that great & getting other options that they say you can have, or sides, took a long time to get if you didn't order it on your menu. A lot of the aides are LAZY and have ATTITUDES, and speak a different language to each other in front of patients. This is Very Rude and Unprofessional. -The front desk phone needs to bounce back to reception after it goes to the nurses station and doesn't get answered after like 12 rings?? I had to hang up and call back to talk to someone many times. The facility was under construction on the first floor and lobby so I can't comment on the looks because they were trying to make it better. The cleaning crews need a little more help though. My mom's room went uncleaned many times with trash overflowing and medical supplies and gloves on the floor.

I go weekly to visit my Aunt. I like how they are fixing the place up for the residents. They have lots of fun activities for them. The staff is kind and helpful. Sometimes the food isn't the greatest but that's to be expected. Everyone tastes differ.

Wow! This place is awesome! The only place I would bring my precious 91 year old mom, with advanced dementia, and a broken hip. I am very protective of my family, like a Tiger and her cubs. My mom is recovering from her broken hip so well, even at 91 years old. Thanks to your outstanding staff in every department. I hope my husband brings me here if I ever have to rehab. ??? And I can even bring my pup!

My mother was a patient from June 28 until her passing on September 17, 2023. During that time, my family was very impressed with the staff of nurses, nurse practitioners, and aides who demonstrated professionalism, compassion and attention to my mother and our family. This was also reflected by the housekeeping, maintenance and kitchen staffs.

Thank you to all at Bear Hill Rehab who patiently take care of my disabled husband Earl. We appreciate the ongoing communication and daily professional care from the nurses and doctors. We thank the daily aides who patiently change him, feed him, and tend to his personal needs. His room and the premises are kept very clean and odor-free, and his meals are good and plentiful. Administration, activities, p.t. & o.t. staff are wonderful, helpful & upbeat. We also greatly appreciate your kindness on our daily visits. We are very pleased with Bear Hill staff, services and care & highly recommend this facility.

Overall, day to day care is quite acceptable. Dietary department is very on-game, as well as pt and ot. Nursing staff has responded to my request to be more available!

No staff as your loved one will sit in urine and feces for hours. No accountability as they cover up falls and incidents and do not follow the appropriate protocol for reporting events. The leadership team does not care about your loved ones once they are admitted to the facility. The employees do not speak English around your loved ones. I was a nursing supervisor there and these were my reasons for leaving. Susan and Bency are the worst leaders I've ever worker for and I've been in nursing for over 20 plus years. I resigned immediately after I saw how they treated residents and staff. DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONES THERE..I repeat DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONES THERE...

Today was the first time I had visited Bear Hill in Stoneham, but I found everyone I dealt with to be very helpful and pleasant. I found the place to be clean with no odor. My cousin’s husband was admitted there yesterday and she is not currently able to visit him except by FaceTime and I told her that she should feel good about his placement here given what I saw an experienced today. So far so good. Thank you.

Bear Hill was once family owned and was a great caring place for residents. The new owners have driven this place downhill since they took charge. My mother has been a resident for 6 years and the care has become only worse. I am there each and every morning to feed my mother to make sure she gets her well needed nourishment and I also visit most afternoons to check on her. Because she is incontinent, it is a constant battle each time I ask a CNA for someone to please change her. Yesterday she sat in a bowel movement for 40 minutes before someone attended to her and it wasn't a busy time of day. My mother's chair is now a hospice chair, I asked if someone could reposition her for she looked very uncomfortable. I had to wait until their social time was finished and when they finally came over they said she was fine and continued to debate over why she needed to be repositioned. At this point I took it to the director of nursing. This treatment isn't limited to just my mother, the other residents receive the same treatment and it breaks my heart to witness the lack of care that the residents receive. Many visitors of the residents can feel my pain. It is absolutely painful to have to be at the hands of workers (Cherry Hill CNAs) that are rude, noncaring and argumentative. I have reported this to management many times and nothing changes. On a positive note the physical therapy department are the best, they are all very caring people and do a great job with the residents. Also the activity department run by Sara Rao and her staff are all very, very, caring and loving and very attentive to the needs of the residents!!!!
