Ross Haven Farm
188 Shepard Rd, SturbridgeMy beloved yearling filly Merry suffered a severe knee laceration and spent just shy of 4 weeks at Ross Haven Farm after being under Dr. Kirker-Head's care at Tufts, having spent 10 days there following surgery for the injury. Our experience was exceptional from start to finish. They are competent and communicative, and the peace of mind I had the near-month she was there is truly beyond value. I've sent updates to Dr. Kirker-Head since Merry has come home and he has continued to guide us in the right direction as her recovery resumes. Cannot recommend Ross Haven Farm enough to anyone looking for a safe, beautiful place for their horse to heal surrounded by a qualified team.

6 Cedar St, SturbridgeThe techs were polite, compassionate and professional. Dr Gregoire was awesome. Very professional, answered all my questions, explained things in a way I could understand and thorough. I didn’t feel rushed and she listened to what I was saying. Everyone was definitely an asset to the business. The ladies at the front desk were extremely helpful and knowledgeable as well. Great experience.

Altruist Brewing Company
559 Main St, SturbridgeI encountered Altruist Brewery's stands at a couple of beer festivals and decided to pay the brewery a visit. The brewery is located near a busy road but tucked away in a quiet corner. It occupies a part of an industrial building. The brewery has a small indoor room and a small patio outside. The indoor area is nicely decorated and offers some entertainment, including a stage, a shuffleboard table, and several board games. A small selection of food is available. I tried chips with their own beer cheese and liked it.
The brewery had 9 beer taps available during my visit, with an option to order a beer flight of 4. Additional options were available, such as kombucha or beer-based cocktails. For this review, I tried all the beers served that day. With the exception of a couple, I liked everything. The beers are solid; they hit their respective styles, and the flavors are being experimented with. My favorites for the day were Just Deviate (Imperial Stout) and Ham On Rye (Rye IPA), both having strong and complex flavors. The crowd at the brewery was another reason to like it: several regulars, knowing each other, and the bartender - Briana - who was friendly to everyone and supported conversations.
Overall, I enjoyed my time at this brewery. If you like smaller, cozy breweries, then this is the right spot.
