As for myself, I never leave empty handed especially when it comes to Mother Jeans, Citizens of Humanity, and Agolde - I usually buy two at a time.You can tell the owner Elaine is doing something right as her staff are very outgoing and knowledgeable, and all have been working there for years. Belinda the Store Manager does an excellent job buying and merchandising (not an easy task!). The managers Lance and Ari always display excellent service skills, really know their product, and know how to dress for your body type. Don't forget to visit Cassidy down the street in the Shoe Store for a great selection of everyday footwear.*some pictures are during the Covid times but still relevant !”

“Today I walked into faherty for the first time ever there were two workers Lauren and Chesca who helped me out with picking out a new outfit for a last minute dinner! Both girls were nothing but helpful with finding correct sizes for a shirt and pants that peaked my interest. I would highly recommend that you step in and ask them for help whenever you stop in this location!”

“Vineyard Haven’s the black dog is the best!! Yesterday was almost 100 degrees was kindly created by Joxita K who assisted me with finding what I needed. Ended up leaving here with a plushie stuffed animal, a t shirt and she even gave me a blessing (prayer) for my upcoming wedding 🥹🤎🤎. She was so kind professional and polite. “I visited the Black Dog General Store - Edgartown on September 16, 2025. I just wanted to tell you how delightful the staff at this location is. Helpful in every way. The store is laid out and displayed beautifully, which makes it so easy to spend $$$ without thinking! Next year, when my family visits again, I will make visiting this location my top priority! “I went in to the store after Tivoli day in August. It’s a really nice store with a variety of different styles of clothes for men and women. I went in because I saw some Teva sandals on sale Tivoli day and they still had them on sale which was great. There were two employees there and they were both very friendly and very attentive to what I was looking for. items that were on sale on Tivoli day that I was looking for were still there and they were half price, which was great! I not only found the Teva sandals I was looking for, but also because they had a good selection of other flip-flops, was able to try out a pair of Oofos slides and those were great! I’m so glad that they had my size in stock and glad I was able to compare them to the other brands. The Oofos Sport Flex slides were so much more comfortable than the Adidas or Under Armor versions. They were definitely worth the extra price, but they were on sale so I actually paid 50% off the regular price. I use them indoors because I have hardwood floors and it takes a toll on the bottom of my feet and my joints. Very nice store and will be shopping there again in the future!
Just to note some people complain about some of the prices here on the Vineyard but the regular price I see for the Oofos slides is the same as the price if you order them direct from Oofos. *** But I paid 1/2 price because these were on sale! Also coming to the vineyard, the prices of things reflect some of the transportation costs. It’s not like walking into a Walmart on the mainland and that has to be considered when shopping on the island.”
