Elm Bank is a beautiful public property that offers visitors a great place for walks and outdoor activities. Originally an opulent estate, it later became a seminary and is now leased to the Horticultural Society. The gardens feature a variety of plant materials and impressive specimens like big maples and Japanese maples. While the admission price may seem high, the gardens and trails along the Charles River are worth exploring. The space is handicap and stroller accessible, although indoor areas can feel tight when crowded. The Festival of Trees event is a popular holiday activity, featuring outdoor lights, decorated trees, and a model train exhibit, along with s'mores and a campfire. Visitors appreciate the kind and helpful staff, as well as the ample parking. Elm Bank is particularly favored by dog owners for its wide trails and trash facilities. Overall, it provides a lovely backdrop for photos and a peaceful outdoor experience. Restrooms are available in both indoor buildings.
A great place for a walk. It started as an opulent estate in the early 20th century, later became a seminary, and is now public property that is leased to the Horticultural Society, which charges admission to the central section on which flowers are grown. There is a nice wooded trail along the Charles River. .
