We’re looking fantastic as well. There were vendors selling garden ornaments as well as food trucks making the entire experience outstanding for the entire family.”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Boston Beach House is an amazing indoor beach volleyball facility! The courts are clean, well maintained, and the sand quality is excellent—just like playing at the beach, but year-round. The atmosphere is fun, welcoming, and energetic, whether you’re playing league games, open play, or just practicing. The staff is friendly, organized, and always helpful, which makes the experience even better. It’s the perfect place to stay active, have fun, and feel part of a great volleyball community. Highly recommend!”

“Went there for winter solstice event at night so only saw a small portion of park. Event was good even though it was cloudy, had a guided tour of some art pieces and leaned a bit about each one. Small cafe had good hot chocolate and some tasty options for sweets.”

“The Jane Austen Tea at Endicott House in May 2026 was even better than the March 2025 event. The food quality improvement was obvious immediately: fresher bread, a much more varied and thoughtfully curated sandwich selection, and several standout savory items—the cucumber & watercress, coronation chicken, turkey & walnut finger sandwiches, and even delightful egg sandwiches. Olivia’s return as Jane Austen was wonderful; she’s a convincing and charming performer who adds enormously to the experience (and actually plays the harp beautifully). I also appreciated the thoughtful hospitality touches this year, like being able to help yourself to lemonade, water, or iced tea in addition to the hot tea service—it made the afternoon feel especially welcoming and relaxed. One of the loveliest aspects is that many guests fully embrace the spirit of the event by dressing in Regency attire, which adds to the fun and makes the whole experience feel delightfully immersive.”

“As a member of Historic New England Homes, I’ve been greatly impressed by the professionalism of the staff at the homes I’ve seen and Codman was no exception. We went on the house tour on Saturday at 11 am. We were held up by a traffic detour and arrived a few minutes late. The guides waited for all parties to arrive and that was greatly appreciated. They proved paper fans as well. Our guide was able to answer all our questions and referred us to other sources for those she didn’t have an answer to.”

“My daughter had the most wonderful bat mitzvah party there on Saturday night. The hall is very large, modern and beautiful. There is ample space in the hall -- we were set up for 90 guests, with a DJ and Henna art table, and there was room to spare. The sound system was excellent, and there's a great space for dancing and DJ setup. Frank worked with us every step of the way with patience and an openness to new ideas. He helped us plan our custom vegetarian menu (likely the first vegetarian meal ever served there!), understand our setup, and work with our dessert ideas. His waitstaff was extremely professional and helpful. The only knock is that the bar selection for beer and wine isn't so modern, but it's a requirement to use their bar service. I didn't mind using it (we also bought the soda/water package) because the money goes to the Sons of Italy for scholarships. However, I would have liked some more choices in the bar. That said, the food was EXCELLENT, the experience EXCELLENT, and I can't say enough about the service that Frank and his crew provided. Happy to recommend again and again!”

“This place is an absolutely gorgeous wedding venue. It’s a historical building with beautiful grounds that you would never expect to be in Watertown. We did a hotel block right next door at the Hampton inn - some of our guests walked back to the hotel after the wedding which was super convenient!! We felt comfortable not booking a shuttle for that reason. Additionally, the shopping plaza next door provides several options for an after party location ? I have to agree with one of the previous reviews stating that the staff is there to protect the mansion, not to ensure you have a great wedding day. We hired a wedding planner who advocated for us throughout the planning process and was a huge help the day of the wedding. I truly do not think we would have had such an enjoyable day without her - you absolutely should budget for someone like this if you book this venue. Despite the gorgeous vineyard-lined ceremony area, you need to expect some less than ideal weather for this location. This means coming up with a weather plan that you are excited about. We had incredible weather, but the forecast was touch and go, and I was so stressed that we would have to go with plan B, which we weren’t excited about at all. This plan requires working with your catering team (the biggest expense of all…), so you should not be afraid to tell them what you want and don’t want in the event of inclement weather. Do I regret having our wedding here? Absolutely not Would I recommend it as a wedding venue? I’m not so sure. Definitely do your research into the catering expenses before you book - and seek out a planner to do some vetting before you book here - this could help you anticipate expenses and understand the nuances to hosting an event at a city-run facility.”

“March 2, 2024, we celebrated my daughter's 10th birthday at Brush and Easel. She invited 12 of her best friends, she chose to paint a picture of a dog in a field, and afterwards we had cake. It was one of the best parties we have ever had because the studio space was so cozy, comfortable and inviting, and Irina was a gracious host, taking care of tea and coffee and leading the painting instruction. All the guests had a really wonderful time. I asked my daughter what was her favorite part of the party and she said, "all of it." That's what every mom wants to hear. Thank you so much Irina for a beautiful celebration for our family.”

“Went here for a nice long 8 hour work team building event, they provided a great atmosphere, a lot of snacks in the common area during breaks, they had an IT specialist ready to serve our group in like 90 seconds when we had a technical issue with our display (incredible response time), and we went to their cafeteria for lunch, they had a buffet style set up, and the food was actually awesome, not only did they have a wide variety and vegetarian options, but the food was delicious, they had a few desserts to choose from. This lace is a little tucked away in Waltham, but for conferences, team building, seminars.. I'd say a hidden gem”

“Just got home from the 100th Anniversary Gala at the Dedham Community House and walking through the front door after not having been there for over 3 DECADES, I was rocketed back to the days of my youth when I spent a great deal of time at D.C.H. The fellowship of the event was palpable and the pride in the principles that D.C.H. encompasses is inspiring. The outgoing director of 15 years, Michelle, introduced the new incoming director, who has decades of experience in non profit programs and knows and understands the missions and goals of Dedham Community House).I went to preschool here and I was both nurtured and gently disciplined so that I could LEARN and the wonderful teachers helped form me into the human being that I am today. I went to Dedham Community House summer camp from age 6 to age 12. I made some of my closest friends during those summers days at camp. I learned teamwork, scheduling and routine, listening to directions, sports, crafts, and empathy and compassion for others. I wouldn't trade those days for anything. It's so wonderful to know that D.C.H. is still a place for children to go to be safe and guided. D.C.H. is an important part of our community and I am sure it will be here and thriving 100 years from now. ???”
