“I have been going to Gowell’s since I was a child. The homemade candy is incomparable to any other company. When John Wayne was at Mass General Hospital he used to send people to Gowell’s to buy it for him. Go to Gowell’s and treat yourself!!”
“I wish I was able to go in person! I have been ordering from this business for about a year and love it! The owner is so sweet and willing to accommodate specific requests. I love the candy selection and the website is always being updated with restocks. Most recently, I ordered a few things for holiday gifts and saw they were offering gift wrapping on the website. I expected the candies to come wrapped in tissue paper or something simple but they were wrapped soooo cute, really went above and beyond expectations.”

I personally don’t like the chocolate very much (I’m super picky about my chocolate), but when I get dipped or coated things I enjoy them.
My favorite chocolate in MA is Phillips or Equal Exchange. I hate Taza. And this is okay, just not near my fav.
But the shop is stunning and it’s always a pleasant experience.
Also love the fresh flowers and decor out front.”

“Very chiche interior. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I'm not a fan of over sweet cheap chocolate. The chocholate here is very high quality and made with natural ingredients. I enjoy chocolate on the bitter side and they had quite a few options. I snagged a few things and will def come here again based off the yummy samples I tried.”

“So be aware this shop is a tiny space. Every nook and cranny that can be used was, but that is part of the fun of exploration. It can feel overwhelming, but I decided to dive in.
I was greeted and asked if I was looking for something in particular. I like chocolate, but don't love it, and usually only crave it now when PMSing. I went straight for my go to which is dark chocolate with caramel. I also got the mint chocolate, and the one she suggested (Which of course tasted the BEST and I wish I had gotten more of) caramel praline with almonds dark chocolate and sea salt. I was so good I almost went back. I will agree that the dark chocolate caramel ones I got were kind of basic, though nice, nothing to write home about. But the other two- so worth it!
It is not cheap, but for me it was worth it. I barely looked at a 1/10th of what they had to offer. They even had some non chocolate candies. I would recommend popping in. It was a welcomed surprise.”

“Received three kinds of the candy as a gift for my 90th birthday. Needless to say, I am hooked. Fantastic doesn't really describe it but I will no longer be using my previous candy stores.
