The ladies at the shop clearly knew their stuff concerning alterations and bustling and didn’t just clip the dress to make it fit you, but would show you how it might actually fit after alterations. They were the perfect balance of helpful without being pushy too which is a breath of fresh air!It was so much fun to be able to go and look through the racks of dresses myself, and choose styles for myself, which was not an option at other stores. “You can't always count on it being open exactly by the posted hours, but if you're near downtown Wakefield and it happens to be open, it's definitely worth your time to stop in. It's a small space but they use it well; there are knickknacks and cool antique pieces everywhere you look, and the owners are knowledgeable about what they sell and about the history of the town. This shop differs from other local antique shops in that it sells more small pieces and collectibles, rather than large pieces of expensive furniture and framed paintings. It's a much cozier and more welcoming feel than the showroom-style places nearby where you're scared to touch anything with a price tag on it. I collect vintage compacts and cosmetics and Un-Common Antiques has saved me a couple trips to Concord, as I can find the pieces I'm looking for here without the ridiculous markups and the long drive.”

“I had my platinum wedding band repaired with Paul after it had to be cut off at the fire dept due to finger swelling postpartum.I had a lot of anxiety about my rings being too tight after my experience. I visited Paul multiple times who kept recommending I wait and give my body some time to get back to normal (even though that meant no business for him).I finally had it repaired with him, after he talked me out of upsizing both my rings (which meant less money for him!), but he was right about my ring size. He is the most caring and honest jeweler I have ever met. He is genuinely great at what he does. I cannot say enough good things about his business and I wholeheartedly recommend him!”
