“Great place for Organic Chestnuts, Wildflower Honey, Chestnut Honey, Honey Crisp Apples, Fuji Apples, a hybrid of both apples that has the texture of Honey Crisp and the Sweetness of the Fuji.”
“Great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. Beautiful large Strawberries at $6.50 a quart. Jams, jellies and spreads $7.99 and up. They also have pies, muffins and cookies. Check them out !”
“I love Aldi, plain and simple. I do wish that corporate would either upgrade the store or rebuild to make the Benton Harbor store bigger and better with self checkout lanes and wider aisles. It can be done. There are plenty of locations very close to the current spot that could be looked at.”
“Nye’s has been a local institution for generations. The property is in the process of being developed and it has led to a reduced retail operation. It is mostly a Fall fruit market specializing in apples. More often than not, it is self serve only, but the store is open occasionally. They take credit card payments for the self serve through Venmo if you don’t have cash.
With that said, if you are looking for some of the harder to find varieties then this is the place to go. Personal favorites for eating include Honeycrisps, Mutsu, and Melrouge. For baking, Braeburns are great, for sauce I will use just about anything.
The development project has been moving forward at a snails pace for a couple of years. Each time I stop by I am thankful that this great spot is still open.”
“Pagel Produce is my go-to place for apples, peaches and pears. Mike and Kim Hilldebrand have an efficiently organized and friendly well-trained staff available to answer any questions and provide product whenever I've needed it. Their prices make the 10 minute drive (versus my local grocery stores) more than worthwhile.”
