In a very short time Dr Mazukie was able to discover not only an unusual intestinal problem but also a thyroid issue. Over a very short time we were able to stabilize her but given continued treatment I’m confident that she has extended her lifespan significantly. “I started coming here mid pandemic when my boy had to have a post emergency follow up. Being at the worst possible time our regular vet couldn't see him for weeks. CC squeezed us in and we're super caring. Now I've been happy with them since, but last November we had a rough go and had to put my fairly young cat down. The staff was so supportive and kind even hugging me, at the time I got a letter with her paw print stamped inside which was so touching. It's now February and I got a letter in the mail today from an animal veterinary research organization telling me that CC made a donation in my girl's name. They didn't tell me they were going to do that and I found it extremely touching that they did this.”

“Above and beyond! If they treat their patients half as good as a stranger with a found cat than you are in great hands. We found ourselves in quite the predicament with a random cat, who wandered into our home, obviously missing her family. We called local veterinarian offices that happen to be closed on Wednesdays and then animal control in Hazel Park was unavailable. This office stepped up to the plate and helped me get this kitty scanned for a microchip! They even got me a cardboard carrier, so she just wasn’t a free range kitty in my car. Luckily, this beautiful cat was micro chipped and because of the effort this veterinarian team put in, we were able to reunite this cat with her mother. Thank you again for helping this awesome cat get home!!!”

“My new resue GSD did not like the first vet I found (he growled and had to be muzzled when I took him there). The 2nd Vet I took him to was older, and is very respected in Detroit, but he has horrible wait times, and does not really keep good records. My dog loved him and behaved PERFECTLY, but then my dog became sick, and the 4+ hour wait time each visit, plus the low/no real record keeping made it hard for me to keep up with his "treatments", and time wise, I just could NOT continue to wait for HOURS for no diagnosis. One of my neighbors recommended West Woodward, and I was able to get an appt within a week or so, and although Dr. John could not get records from my previous vet (nor could I), he made some recommendations and tried some treatments, and then figured out that my dog probably had EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insuffiency), a rare condition. The test was expensive, but not as expensive as some of the other test/guesses from the previous vet, and EPI is what my dog has. The treatment is simple, my dog LOVES the entire staff, and I truly appreciate the way the staff treats me and my dog. They are sensitive to pricing, and try to get me more economical pricing, and they love my dog. They are near my home, but even if I had to drive for an hour each way, I would continue to take my dog there. I really appreciate the staff, and the Doctors at West Woodward and will recommend them to EVERYONE I meet.”

The front office staff reached out to let me know when they received the records from my former vet, and were always very professional and friendly. We were welcomed and shown into a room immediately, and our vet tech was wonderful. Our cat is a big old scaredy cat, so we really appreciated how kind and gentle both the vet tech and Dr. Tate were, and that they were even nice enough to wrap our cat in a blanket they misted in calming pheromones. One reason we left our last vet was because they kept trying to sell us on every test and unnecessary thing our cat didn't actually need. So, I was really grateful Dr. Tate did a great exam, told us possible tests (i.e. blood work options) and then let us make our decision without judgement. We're so grateful we found Dr. Tate!”
