While traveling through Michigan we had a lighting problem and needed help. Nearby we found General RV in Birch Run Michigan.
Our first contact upon entering the Service Department was Alissa Kroll, Service Advisor. She was pleasant and professional and listened to my description of the issue. I explained we were from out of town and on the first leg of our road trip. She immediately got us entered into the service database and explained the troubleshooting steps and billing process to minimize any surprises later. She introduced us to Dennis Pisha PDI Foreman, Matt Helm Lane Foreman and Brandon Schopper PDI Tech. They were all very helpful, professional and displayed an actual interest in helping a customer. This to us was especially noteworthy since we were clearly at their mercy being from out of town with no real way to continue our trip without assistance.
We were kept informed throughout the repair process. The team carefully troubleshot the lighting system quickly replacing the bad electrical connector on our tow bar. We were back on the road in just a couple of hours. While we were there we even managed to do some business with the Parts Department. Lori Tripple helped us purchase a replacement electrical umbilical cord and a Blue Ox rock guard for our tow rig.
We wanted to take a moment and thank the General RV of Birch Run team for taking care of us in our time of need and a special”Thanks” to Alissa, Dennis, Brandon, Matt and Lori for going the extra distance for a couple of strangers who straggled in with a broken RV.

We will never go to any General RV again. Our sales person Alyssa was great but neglected to tell us many things were missing. So when we picked it up, and were so excited; all of a sudden many parts had to be purchased. Then they drilled a hole in the top instead of using rivets, which is a real problem with an Airstream... and cut the camera off instead of Gary and Dylan explaining we could purchase a new monitor which we learned about later. We feel ripped off as they are supposed to be “professionals” and help us do the best for our rv. We would have paid them to order the parts we needed to replace, and would have felt better taken care of.
The worst though was the pressure to buy their insurance, although we already had it insured with our agent. Then the “bed bug and mold” pressure came. They made us feel like we bought a dump and took every bit of fun and excitement away. It was horrible!

Very good except extremely wonderful experience David Huber ran through the details of our new RV very thorough very pleasant and very knowledgeable I would recommend General RV Center in Birch Run to everyone I know.

I really wanted General RV in Birch Run to be my go to place for service. My 2024 Grand Design Reflection 337RLS is still in warranty but the warranty ends tomorrow. I opened 3 different cases so the warranty would cover them. I need to provide background to explain my rare low rating.
On the way home from picking up our new RV, 1 of the wheel dust covers came off. Turns out this is an issue new to the 2024 Reflections caused by a change in the metal of the wheel parts. The solution (per Grand Design), is to replace the new 2024 hardware with the 2023 parts which do not have this issue. General RV did just that and on 3 of the 4 wheels, this issue was resolved. The same problem occurred on one of wheels with the 2023 hardware. I opened a new case with Grand Design and got approval to fix this 1 wheel. Made an appointment with General RV to fix this 1 wheel. Matt at General RV contacted Grand Design and tried to order replacement hardware for all 4 wheels (why?). Matt contacted me and said Grand Design denied the claim, no surprise there since the other 3 wheels were perfectly OK. I contacted Grand Design and they quickly approved the repair again. When trying to explain all this to Matt, I could sense he was annoyed at my persistence.
Since I only had 1 day left in my warranty, I opened a 2nd and 3rd case with Grand Design. The 3rd case was for a well known issue with dual AC units that Grand Design confirmed and even gave me the part numbers needed for the warranty work. I contacted Matt again with this new case, and now he says I would have to put money into my account at General RV to pay for the parts before he would order them (this is new). With General RV there has been many communication failures, they just want to get you off the phone and fail to really listen to their customer. I guess the General RV has so much business that good customer support is no longer necessary.
I cancelled my appointment, and I will never use General RV for service or when I'm ready to purchase my next RV. Beware before purchasing and RV at General RV, great before you buy, not so good at the servicing part.
Update 11/16/2025: Grand Design approved using MMCJS R.V. Repair. He did all the work and Grand Design paid them directly. No mention of me paying for parts up front like General RV. The RV Tech mentioned the dust cover had indications of incorrect installation. I definitely made the right decision to not use General RV. Seems MMCJS R.V. Repair still appreciated their customers.

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to the service team at General RV in Birch Run!! I am sure I can speak for any RV owner that will understand, you can purchase new or used or the most expensive or a less expensive version of any style RV, but they all come with their own set of challenges. Through my experience and recent purchase of my 5th class A RV, I found my service team to be the absolute best at understanding that the measure of a good company is how they respond to the challenges. Kyle Huber and Avery Daniels take the time to listen and understand what their customer’s frustrations are and research the best way to attack and conquer the issues individually. The unusual trait that these two gentlemen possess is that they genuinely care about their job and about making sure we are happy with our purchase. I have had service performed at different places, including different General RV locations and can attest to the shining stars; Kyle and Avery out of the Birch Run location!! I can’t express enough, how awesome and comforting it is to know these guys are looking out for my best interest!! Thank you, gentlemen, for all you do!!

Drove 80 mile to this place to look at a 2024 fifth wheel. To start none of there used inventory was cleaned, don't know how they'll sell them as all that I looked at was disgusting. The salesman i was in contact with didn't show up on that Saturday, which is somewhat understandable as things in life happen. The young man that did work with us was very nice...little pushy on getting a sale when all inventory was disgustingly dirty. The 2024 i looked at and came in for, a light in the bedroom ceiling was bluefish so ask if it was a night light. He removed the cover and water came pouring out. Note to you clueless: have your inventory checked out before you try to sell!!
I would stay clear of general rv, obviously don't look over or inspect there equipment, which would make me very leary of buying new from them. Terrytown RV in grand rapids is caring quality place to go. And inventory is inspected and tagged so before selling.

Was a great experience from start to finish, Chris was extremely knowledgeable on all the R.Vs we looked at. He helped us choose the perfect 5th wheel for our needs. We picked out our R.V , picked it up the next day ,with the new 5th wheel hitch installed on my truck and everything ready to go. Chris the sales associate and Troy the sales manager were great to deal with…. No pressure, answering all my questions.. Will be back to upgrade in a few years.
