“My husband and I stayed here for around 2 weeks from NC and we had the most comfortable and lovely time. We were only here for my husband's contract with the hospital but Jerry made the stay feel less like business and more like home! The area is gorgeous, the owner is responsive and the inside of the cabin felt like we didn't even leave our house in NC. There is even a laundry room attached to the office so no dirty clothes for us! I cannot wait until we can come up here for VACATION and some much needed down time because this is definitely the place to do it!!”

“A glamorous reinvention of a beautiful historic building, The Vault is an unexpected delight on my trip to Houghton. The 12’ + ceiling height in my room on the 3rd floor made the room feel very spacious, almost like staying in a castle. The building has new windows that are nicely sound-proofed from street noise and it was an overall quiet, restful stay with comfortable bed and linens. Modern bathroom amenities were also luxe.

The private basement lounge (open only to guests staying at hotel and a few club members) was a nice spot to end the evening and had a nicely appointed bar. A cozy, quiet spot to recount the day’s adventures.

The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast spread in the morning with grab-and-go coffee, tea, Chobani yogurt, juice, bagels, Nutella, etc. One other free perk—parking in a ramp directly across street from front door of hotel.

It’s great to see a boutique hotel like this in the Keweenaw!”

“My husband and I stayed here three nights on vacation in September 2025. We had a top floor water view room and it was spectacular. The hotel was so clean, and newly remodeled. We were impressed by the pool and the laundry facilities (used both), and the top floor bar made excellent drinks and the bartender was skilled and professional. The only downside to our stay was that there were some staffing issues so the bar was not serving food while we are there. A very minor hiccup in a nearly perfect stay!”

“Very nice place to spend a few days. Hi points; Clean room every day, toilet paper you can't see through, and real Kleenex brand Kleenex. Low point; like 90% of all hotels, a crappy breakfast. Order a large supper and eat the rest for breakfast! ?

Nearby activities: A must see is the Quincey Mine Tour, worth every penny. Also, especially fall, do the Brockway mountain drive.”

“This cute little roadside icecream joint is a perfect spot to pull off and get some icecream. yes the hotdogs are a little on the pricey side, but they do load up the condiments. And the Buffalo burgers. Damn good.”
