“Great Lakes is top notch for many reasons, but as I’m a bit lazy at the moment and lacking a keyboard, I’ll boil it down to three high quality reasons.
1. It’s style. It is a very sleek, open and inviting environment. It’s not in your face trying to peacock you with an over the top color scheme that makes you feel like you’re trapped on the inside of giant purple Detroit Red wings Octopus. It doesn’t distract, it lets you focus.
2. Cleanliness. People all around in the gym are constantly drenched in sweat and perspiring all about. But no area ever carries the aroma of “Weight Lifter Grunt Musk”. Instead, each station holds itself with a scent of simple cleanliness. The staff are constantly doing rounds vacuuming, wiping down equipment, acting as the gym’s own personal Remora fish, cleaning deep see weight machine critters.
3. The staff themselves. They’re all incredibly kind and warm. And what I specifically enjoy is that they match your own energy and get to know if you, if you want them to.
So yeah... totes 5 stars. No cap. Six Seen. 100.”
“The customer service is awesome, helpful and apologetic. The place looks great but is not handicap friendly if your in a wheelchair. The handicap parking is at the bottom of the parking lot forcing you to go up hill in a wheelchair and people park the noses of their cars over the sidewalk not giving you enough room for your wheelchair. The cardio equipment is on the top floor but the stationary is on the bottom floor with no elevator. There is a door down there but it's locked and only usable when staff is there to unlock it. The person was very apologetic and it's an older building. So great customer service and would recommend for an able bodied person but not if you're in a wheelchair which is a shame because now I have to go across town for the gym.”
“Damion is awesome. He took the time to listen and take notes about all my health issues and was able to still find workouts, other than walking on treadmill, that I can perform and excel in! I would recommend him to everyone!”
