“We were 800 miles from home, on our way to Crystal Falls from the Keweenaw when our tow vehicle’s temperature gauge wasn’t responding, the AC stopped working in 80+ degree heat, and the truck engine fan kept running when the truck was off. Since we have a Chevy Colorado, we called a Chevy dealership enroute and was told we’d have to wait two weeks for them to look at the truck. I called another mechanic in Crystal Falls and they said they couldn’t schedule us for one month! Luckily, we called Rick at the Auto Doc. From the first phone call and the symptoms we provided, he predicted that our temperature sensor had failed. He cleared his schedule to help us out. After we spoke to him, he called back to confirm our truck’s year and engine so that he could proactively order the correct part before we got there. We dropped our RV at our campsite and my husband continued to the Auto Doc. Rick’s prediction was exactly right and the truck was promptly repaired. I hope anyone reading this realizes how distressing it is to have auto problems far from home and away from your regular mechanic. Taking the time to squeeze us into the schedule was the pinnacle of customer service and obviously not a universal practice in our current world, as evidenced by the Chevy dealership that blew us off. We only wish we lived closer because all our vehicles would be serviced at the Auto Doc. Rick got us safely back and the road and gave us peace of mind.”
