The Dequindre Cut is a very friendly, cool place to take a walk. It offers free parking at the entrance near the Eastern Market. Visitors can see murals, interesting architecture on the buildings, and enjoy nice seating areas along the way. A safe ramp leads down so people don’t have to use steps. Many walkers and bikers use this trail, which connects Eastern Market to the Riverwalk. The Riverwalk is expanding, so people can bike for miles. It is a great place to exercise, get fresh air, and burn some calories. Even at night people still walk or bike. The city upgrades the Cut every year, so it will get better. Some sections get very crowded, such as Sunday Funday House Music free dance parties. Only two food trucks serve brisket/cheese fries that are superb. The cut is a fun outdoor space with various events throughout the year. A pleasant one‑hour walk on the paved path shows the city investing well.

I walked the Dequindre Cut for the first time last week on a weekday and it was amazing! I parked at Eastern Market and walk down past the Ren Cen. I had a hard time finding where the entrance was, but we want to offer corners of the parking lot and found it. There were many other walkers and bikers on this Trail.
