About St. Albertus Detroit
St. Albertus Detroit is a beautiful historic church and the first Polish Catholic church in Detroit, founded in 1872. It is a gem still standing, featuring beautiful Roman style pillars, ceilings, angel statues, murals, and stained glass. This original church was once the largest parish in Michigan. It is now maintained by volunteers and donations, kept open by dedicated parishioners who raise funds. Mass is held about once a month. The choir sings beautifully, creating a very uplifting experience. It is a place full of history and well worth visiting.

Beautiful historic church. Please support if you can. Archdiocese should do something to help preserve this church, shame on them. Kept open because of parishioners who love and care about this church and do whatever they can to raise funds. God bless them and St.Albertus.

Beautiful Polish church…where my grandmother went to elementary school in the 1940s. A true gem of Detroit Polonia
